  1. Like others have said, a weightless T-Rigged (Fly-Lined) Senkos cast like a frickin' bullet! A 50-200 sized reel with 10-15 pound test on a MH-F/XF rod will suit you quite well.
  2. Good line for sure. I use Izor mono and braid and Seagar flouro for most applications (P Line for some), but always have some big game in my bag when saltwater fishing offshore. I know a few people that swear by this line!
  3. The only thing I like glass rods for is salt water fishing. Even then I have blends and straight graphite for quite a bit of applications. I have a couple of G Loomis "Fiber Blend" Crank Bait for my cranking duties and couldn't be happier. It makes all of that "run-n'-gun" fishing pleasurable for a worm dragger' like me!
  4. Shots fired! Haha. In all seriousness, nice fish man.
  5. All time favorite hands down Is the Mepps Aglia! Great for small pond fishing for all species as well.
  6. I like in-line spinners and small spoons. My favorites include Mepps Aglia, Little Cleos, and Thomas Bouyants. Other classics include Panther Martins, Rooster Tails, Small Krocodiles, and Kastmasters, etc...
  7. There are some good ideas in this thread. I would personally go with the Cork Filler, Cork Tape (bulk roll) or X-Wrap (large flocked shrink tube).
  8. I would venture to guess that is $150 of the best money you will ever spend. I spent a little under $500 for my yak and paddle and consider it one of the absolute best "investments" I have ever made! I fish boats, tubes and yaks and there are times when that is the absolute best option for a day on the water.
  9. I don't know about "crappy" but I do beleive it is "overated" to a certain extent. I also know I ONLY tie it for drop shotting. 99% of everything else gets the SD Jam knot. Back to the topic at hand, I do believe a double wrap can be benificial, but is also overated to a certain extent. Stronger? Yes. That much more worth it to get me away from my regular SD Jam, not so much. Shoot, jig fisherman out this way tie a double San Diego! Not my cup of tea with the three tag ends and all.
  10. True that! That's why I upgraded my Citica E with a Curado handle and spool (Carbontex drags also) and now it fishes a lot closer to the Curado. There are still some differences (drag star, line guide insert, etc.) and $60 bucks worth for sure. The new series however, with minimal upgardes and $30 MSRP difference for the Curado truly has me (and others apparently) perplexed!
  11. Side sweep and wind them on!
  12. Trust me, many a Calico, Sandy, and Spottie have fell victim to Worms, Craws, Lizards, etc. I have run the gamut of fresh water lures through salt water and many bass and various other species have chewed on a variety of soft plastics and hard baits. Keep on throwing a wide variety of baits and you might be surprised what they want to chew on for any given day.
  13. Wow! If you guys lived out here and had to deal with the Lizard fish we have in our salt water bays you would be singing a different tune. They are a straight up nuisance out this way and despised by most fisherman. I am indifferent to them, but some guys stop just short of waging all out warfare on them! They're popularity is something along the lines of the Asian/ Silver carp. Haha.
  14. Almost all of my set ups are full grip with a fore grip and old school cork. I can't stand the new movement towards split grip with no fore grip and foam.
  15. 6" straight tail plastic worm. Hands down, no question about it.
  16. Even though I wasnt even born when Jelly Worms came out, I "borrowed" some from my dads stash decades later and caught some nice fish with them. Yes, they still work just fine! Haha.

If I could only have one lure, it would be a soft plastic lure. A worm, lizard, creature, etc. However, as far as just plain flat-out fun fishing favorite, it's a toss up between feeling that thud on a jig or that blow up on a top water.
  18. This is the one technique that I always fish straight braid. One thing I let them do is "load up" before I set the hook. I make sure I feel some weight first, then drop the rod and cross thier eyes.
  19. If i had to choose one bait it would be a 6" straight tail worm. Honorable mention to lizards and creature baits though. Variations of purple, green, and black are the colors I fish the most.

A little bit of slack line does the trick. I also like to let that thing sit for a while in between pops. Mixing up the retrieve is always a good idea though.
  21. Pad Crasher is a cool little frog.
  22. Stik bait. I actually used one all day the other day for the first time in years. They still work just fine! Haha.
  23. I love me some top water blow ups or that thud on the jig. Number one confidence bait is a T-rigged plastic though. Worst? Don't really have one, although I can't seem to dial in bladed swim jigs.
  24. Love em'. I get down with a jig on rip rap.
