I make soft plastics. For years I sold to the public. Just direct sales now. Naming some of the color ways was half the fun. My swimbait line up today consist of: Kelp Krusher, Salty Sardine, Mean Sardine, Coastal Classic, Aztec Red, Purple Passion, Cherry Bomb and Smoke Dawg. Off the top of my head some of the worm colors were: Money Honey, Money Tree, Green Tree, First Light, Dark Dusk, Lemon Lime and several others. Good times.

Add Junebug and you're good to go. My top 3 in no particular order are: Watermelon Red/ Black Flake, Green Pumpkin Black Flake and Junebug.

I think they like em' a little better when they're a little chewed up. Haha

To me? Yes. I love their Jerkbaits. Karashi is also nice. Owm some of their topwaters as well.

8" Triple Trout. Never threw the thing (like most my big swimbaits). Sold it to a buddy's Dad. I think he hung it up in his man cave. Haha. Most expensive bait I throw regularly is probably an Ito Vision 110.

They are just tools to me, but I don't abuse them either. I don't abuse my hand tools or power tools either. I have some $200 setups. I have some $1,000 setups. Most of them are somewhere in between and I maintenance them and try and make them last.

If the conditions allow for it, I will always have a t-rig set up and throw it. It's just that good. My all time producer. The only time I don't throw it is if the algae (snot grass) is too gnarly or they are just choking top water and reactions baits all day.

Interesting how many people just bank fish. I thought it would be 90+ % boat only. I've done it all. Bank, boat, tube, kayak you name it. These days it's almost only boat. Haven't yaked or tubed in years. I live 2 1/2 blocks from the Pacific Ocean and walking distance of two large saltwater bays. I will occasionally dip my toes in the sand and shore fish. It can be quite excellent at times.

Pretty cool to see a tourny won on the Ol' Grub. It's been my go-to Cod lure on a dropper loop for a while now. Been years since i've tied one on for Bass tho.

The fella in the picture is Butch Brown. He is known for his insane big bass catches. I'm not saying it's a good thing to string up a bunch of big bass like that, but they most likely were released right after that photo. San Diego county. LA has Castaic and Casitas. SD has Miramar, Dixon, Hodges, Wohlford and Morena. LA and SD combined have 19 of the 25.

Yup. Being able to fish AND catch deep (30+ feet) out here in So Cal means the difference between catching and a boat ride. By far my best producing technique for this is drop shotting. It's also a good idea to carry a fizzing needle if you plan on C N' R.

Claro que si! 11 of the 25 biggest LMB ever caught are from the county I live in. haha

Same as every year... fish more! Last year I actually pulled it off with 13 days total offshore Tuna fishing and it paid off big time with personal bests. This year I hope to bump the Bass numbers up. Get back to those 30-40+ trips a year.

Full grip cork for my casting rods. Split grip cork for my spinning rods. All preferably with a foregrip as well. Old school.

Another vote for the good ol' plastic worm. If I had my druthers it would be of the 6" straight tail variety.

Ahh, the "magic" plug. Love it when you find that "one" that just slays. Love the way a good chewed up lure looks.

I own a bunch of the E series (Curado, Citica & Chronarch) in all the sizes (50 to 300) and gear ratios and these are my go-to reels to this day. They just got that mojo. Set it and forget an brake wise. Built like tanks.

Born/ raised/ live in Southern California and yes the fishing pressure is insane! That being said, we still catch fish. The baits you mentioned in your title are proven to catch fish. My best advice is just time on the water. I know that sounds cliche, but the more you go, the more you will know. Winter can be tough for even experienced anglers. Do not get discouraged, just stay with it and you will catch.

Years ago when I was injecting a batch of worms, I measured the colorant wrong and made a very nice Watermelon colored worm very different than my "normal" formula. Turned our great. I loved them. My Pops loved them. The Bass loved them. The only problem, it was an "oops" to begin with so I had no idea what the exact formula was to duplicate them. Just went back to "regular" ol' Watermelon after that. Haha.

VMC Tungsten exclusively. Right combo of price, size selection and durability for me.

At any given time, I usually have more of one than the other. Right now it's rods. Last year it was reels. Had some BNIB I had forgotten about. Ha!

I have absolutely used bullet weights in a pinch when I have ran out of d-shot weights. The bobber stop idea is great. It makes it adjustable just like a propper d-shot weight.
