  1. Dang, now thats a name I haven't heard in a hot minute! Honestly, being a native San Diegan, I could go the rest of my life an be just fine not hearing it! So... I take it you think its gonna suck? Or is it because that bait is turd colored? Or both...
  2. Curious as to what you think might have triggered this? Hot day locked in boat compartment, vehicle or home storage area? Any cross contamination with other baits, scents or various oils/ liquids? Maybe just the mysterious voodoo of the bait monkey?
  3. One of the first baitcasters I ever owned. Fine little reel. Only got rid of it because I found out about the wonderful world of Calcuttas.

1 - 1/8oz Heads 2 - 1-2' of Water I fish the skinniest of water with these on occasion. This is the exception tho, not the norm.
  5. Yeah, as far as fishing sites go, this one is the best one IMHO.
  6. I could definitely see that as a viable use for them. I just use my standard ss/ds Gammies for nose hooking.
  7. I use circle hooks all the time fishing bait in saltwater, but see zero use to ever use them in freshwater lure fishing.
  8. Do it! Once you get proficient at it, you'll love it. When they're on a Jerkbait bite it can be so much fun. Also finesse Jerbaiting can save a slow day for sure.
  9. At work? Everyday, all day. I work in the fishing industry. Outside of work? As little as possible unless I'm going fishing. Haha
  10. Same as every year... fish more! Didn't go a whole lot last year, but make a couple of few trips count when I did including a Bass fishing trip for 4 hour straight, two drift top water bite and a Tuna trip that saw a buddy of mine land a 150 lber ("small" fish for the boat was 80 lbs.)
  11. Don't forget the additional $6.74 if you want to fish in any saltwater. If anyone thinks the fishing license fees are atrocious and absurd (which they absolutely are) this was the 2022 hunting license breakdown for me: Hunting License - $54 Upland Validation - $21.60 CA Duck Validation - $34.56 Total - $110.16 Of course this does not include the Federal Duck stamp @ $25, a refuge draw @ $1.34 each or a land pass at @ $24.33 a day... So just to recap if you wanted to Duck hunt one single day and Dove hunt one single day (which is exactly how many times I've been able to go so far) in a season in CA this season it would cost you a MINIMUM of $160.83 out the door before even considering the cost of ammunition, fuel, food, etc... FML Then again, I'm sitting bayside in my office along the coast of So Cal and its a brisk 60 degrees with blue skies on December 28th...I suppose you have to pay to play...
  12. Hang in there brother, things will get better.
  13. Another vote for the LC Pointer 78!
  14. Yeah, I LOVE this color LC Sammy Crack Blue. I have had some epic days with it. It just jumped off the shelf at me. Everything else subsurface always gets a more natural color way.
  15. I bought a couple of those Drift Walkers on a whim cruising through a tackle shop earlier this year and the with the little I have thrown them, I am already starting to love them.
  16. It IS a sickness. De-Nile is a river in Egypt... ?
  17. It's all good though right? I feel like there are quite a few people on this site that have entered the "collector" stage of buying equipment at this point, myself included. I feel like at any point in time I have multiple rods, reels or combos that are brand new and have never been used at that point. Its a sickness and the bait monkey don't give a d**n!
  18. That is one hell of a video. Cheers JJ for an all time epic day of Bassin'!
  19. None. I don't tournament fish though, so no biggie for me.
  20. I love 6.3:1 for moving bladed baits. IE: Spinnerbait, Underspin, etc. That gear ratio is my sweet spot for those baits.
  21. If I'm hiking, 2. If I'm in the tube 3-4. If I'm in the kayak 4-6. If I'm in the boat 10-12.
  22. This is the way
  23. Me neither. IMO, anyone should just drive whatever they want. Honestly, I've had more Toyota trucks than anything. Sounds like you have had some awesome vehicles throughout the years. Cheers to that.
  24. Thats a cool old truck. I always loved that body style. One of Chevys best IMO. I have a Ford now, but have had a Chevy in the past.
  25. I nose hook a D-Shot 90% of the time and I use one hook in two different sizes for this: Gammy split shot/ drop shot hook in size 1 or 2. The other 10% the time I T-Rig them with a Robo Rebarb hook. I think size 1.
