YES! In that order as well. Till' the end of days for me...
  2. The cutting points are a big no-go for me. They cut/ tear too big of a hole in the mouth of a fish thrash plastics. Conical point pierce just was is needed to get past the barb. I prefer Gammys, but use all the top brands (no cheapies) and the expense of a single hook is not worth trying to resharpen regularly for me.
  3. Well, I don't own Birkenstocks, but I do own a Subaru and a few nice pairs of wool socks to wear with my waders to duck hunt in. I do drive my F150 to go hunt though... Haha I own an Outback and an F150. Been thinking about selling both and downsizing to just a single vehicle. It's been tough deciding what to go with, even with gas $5+ a gal here in CA. For a while just another single truck was a no brainer for me, however Subaru's are really that nice. Wouldn't hesitate to own another, even being a truck guy.
  4. My personal favorites are Pointers. The main thing that changed the game for me with jerkbaits is finding the right setup to throw them with. This meant a shorter, lighter more sensitive rod. I switched to a smaller reel and so far so good. Anything just shave weight. Heavy jerkbait fishing can wear an angler out!
  5. Oddly enough, I picked up two G Loomis crankbait rods to try and encourage me to throw cranks more. That did absolutely nothing for me and I ended up selling one of them. Kept one for shallow to med depth, which is where I do 99% of my cranking. I have deep divers, but hardly ever throw them.
  6. NO! No worm, no jig, no frog, no dice!
  7. I live in So Cal (work in salt water fishing) where 20 of the 25 biggest Bass in history have been caught and it STILL feels like salt water fishing is king! We do have a very healthy respect for our Bass fishing though. The city lakes and water authorities however... not so much.
  8. Old school cork all the way! Full grip with a foregrip.
  9. I probably own more Falcon rods than any other company besides Shimano/ G Loomis.
  10. Not many times its not a viable option. Very versatile bait. My personal ideal conditions/ scenario would be shallower stained water late summer/ fall with game fish corralling bait fish against the shore and running that thing through some brush if possible.
  11. I have and I have requested something very similar if I some how out live my parents. I want to be cremated and have my ashes spread at sea on the local reefs I grew up surfing (and later) fishing with my father. Just my folks in the skiff, non one else. No funeral, no celebration of life, etc.
  12. I'll play along... BR Members: @Catt - Worm/ jig dragger at heart just like me. @WRB- From So Cal like me and his top 5 is incredible. @A-Jay - Solid guy, incredible content. @Glenn - It would be nice to hang with the guy responsible for it all. The last spot I'm with A-Jay #toomanytolist Pros: Roland M.- OH SON! Bill D.- Common, the bloopers right? Paul E. - Nadine! A-Mart - One of my fav of all time (RIP). Bill Murphy - Not sure if he counts here, but he is a SD Big Bass legend (RIP).
  13. Warm welcome. You picked the right one. This is easily the best message board for Bass fishing on the web!
  14. It didn't take long! haha

That brown and purple is your classic "PB n' J" color. An all time great color combo.
  16. Dang man, sorry to hear. Thats a rough one! At this point I feel like I have just about done it all. The following have either been done by me, my father or my cousin while we have been fishing: Launched without the plug in, Left the boat keys at home, taken off while on anchor, taken off with the little motor down, broken rods, clipped main line instead of tag and tossed bait overboard, fallen in the boat, fallen on the bank, rolled my kayak, left gear at home, etc... The list goes on and on. Haha
  17. I live in So Cal. There are no secret spots! Haha Many moons ago I lived in a "little" rural town in N. San Diego county. We have the equivalent of farm ponds in the form of grove ponds in the ex avocado capital of the world. These were shared amongst close friends, but never outsiders. There was enough "evidence" in the form of line, lures, trash, etc that we didn't need to spread the word any further.
  18. For years the only hook I have used is the Gammy D Shot/ Split Shot hook in 1 or 1/0 after trying quite a few different styles, sizes, etc. Used as small as 2 for more finesse presentations. Have recently been experimenting with the Rebarb hooks as well. As far as weights go, I have used Ball, Tear/ Pear and Pencil all in different applications. Usually between 3/16th to 1/2 oz. I have avoided using Tungsten because of how many I can lose in one session, but just ordered some last year to experiment when the environment is right.
  19. That was probably why he took it in the first place! Everyone was on the spot! Haha
  20. One of the main reasons why I use only 50 & 65 lb line on my baitcasters is because thin braid digs. It's certainly not because I need that strong of line for Bass fishing. I don't need the line capacity of thinner line either.
  21. d**n! That is cold blooded!
  22. To accommodate technique or equipment specific applications. Technique/ cut vegetation - Froggin' (straight) & Punchin' (straight). Equipment/ eliminate line twist - spinning reels (w/ leader).
  23. It absolutely is. However, if you're already on the job site and you don't have a table saw in the back of your truck, ya throw the fence in the saw and get to rippin'!
  24. In a previous life, when I worked in the trades, the only cordless thing we used were drills, and still had corded as backups. Since most of the tools were corded, we went by what brand built their rep with a certain tool EG: Circular Saw - Skil, Reciprocating Saw - Milwaukee, Router - Porter Cable, Door Planer - Hitachi, Nail Gun - Hilti, etc (and some Mikita and Dewalt or misc mixed in) Now, even with the more powerful batteries, I still don't really see a use to go fully cordless, because if you do, ALL your different tools need to be the same brand and there are some things a battery powered tool will never do as well as a corded (ripping a 10' 2x6 length wise with a worm drive corded circ saw).
