  1. I've often wondered the same thing, It may have something to do with the direction the prop turns. I doubt if putting it on the left side would make much of a difference, it may take a little longer to turn in one direction (maybe). But I dont even know what im talking about ;D
  2. I just bought a minn kota 65lb thrust and theres a tag on the cord that says it must have a 50 amp manual reset circuit breaker (if thats any help )

I,ve been launching my boat at the ramps around Baltimore and fishing the chesapeake for over 20 years and never carried a gun or been in a situation were I needed one. I do know where my flare gun, bait knife and sinkers are at all times though, just in case
  4. I usually change the lower gear oil at the beginning of winter and check it for water intrusion throughout the winter. I also trim the outboard in a verticle position when its parked in my yard so it can better drain
  5. I installed a hydrofoil last spring and it made a big difference, much bigger then I thought it would. the ride was alot more comfortable in rough conditions. I drilled holes in mine, but I have heard rumors that it could null your warranty. I,ve also heard storys of cracks devoloping from it, but I think it was worth it for me
  6. Thanks for all the great replies!!! Im starting to lean more for the quick release for security reasons, but if I didn,t constantly remove it, it could actually be less secure, it would only take a few seconds to cut the lock with a bolt cutter. sometimes I think I think to much. I wish I could be like some people and just put it on and walk away ;D I cant wait to get it on though, I never had a trolling motor before, it will be a whole new way of fishing for me
  7. Hello everyone. I just bought a minn kota trolling motor for my 18'sea pro (center console) and I cant deside if I should install a quick release bracket before I start drilling holes. are they really that benificial? do most people have them on their boats? with the design of my boat, it would actually be alot easier for me to just install the T.M. without a release bracket. what are the pros and cons???? thank you
