The curado 50 is an amazing reel. i wouldnt trade the ones i have for much. With that said, once you use your core50 you won't want to touch that curado 50. If you want to stay with shimano, then the core is the way to go unless you want to go JDM but the differences are very minimal. Diawa steez mg is on sale and has a strong if not stronger following than the core depending on what board you ask. It depends on you budget and the weight you want to throw but the diawa px type-r would be an amazing reel to own for trigs.

Personally, the g series curado body felt too large and awkard with their cannen body. The refinement wasnt there to give me a reason to switch from a proven design. The G series reels wwill probably work and perform just fine but those of us that use the E (not all people) understand the disappointment. All of my 201 and 51E curados still perform flawlessly and are always enjoyable to fish. However the only "citica" i own now is 2 curados /w citica gears so i cant speak about citica Es.

I am able to get this rod brand new for around 80% off at dicks. Its the only rod marked down to 69.97 /w 25% off plus other $$ off coupons i have. I dont need a new rod but for around 20$ i thought eh maybe. Is this rod a M or MH? Only says 7'2 fast 1/8-1/2 but seemed a little stiff. I would probably just throw trigged senkos with it if it even sees water. I know im only paying 20$ out of pocket but i dont want to waste my free $$ off on a dud either.

The more beat up the better. It didnt get like that not catching fish.

Just got it in the mail today. Reel was literally NIB and fully sealed in original package. Inspected it and everything is as it should be. Upgrading bearings in a few minutes and on the water it goes tonight. Ebay is going to be addictive.

I'm actually not incorrect and others will agree that you most certainly can use a leader with using microguides. Prior to using fluoro on the vast majority of my reels, i used braid and braid/leader and two of my rods were micros prior to upgrading. I used braid/leader /w an alberto knot and a uni knot. I had to really work on my knot tying to effectively do it but it is more than doable and very easy to use once figured out correctly. Search these forums if you would like knot suggestions, there are/were quite a few topics dedicated to specifically micro guides/leaders. Google also offers quite a few options /w other boards.

Actually most will. You do need the correct knot but it will work fine.

I love my xtremes to death and wouldnt trade them but that statement is false. I cant speak for the elite but there are some xtremes that are tip heavy. Kind of a give and take /w split grips.

Yes. You would be better off getting shakey head style heads for that though.

Some of my lipless cranks and squarebills are just beat to death with eyes missing and half the pait chipped. Lots of these baits are my best producers. Dont ever throw them out. Easier to change the hooks. As for plastics, they just get tossed usually.

I like taking zoom finese worms and cutting them in half length wise and nose hook them. Really good action for casting a drop shot.

Thanks. I got mine from ebay retailer "Ohya" which has a url "www.ohya.com" and seems to be a reasonably large fishing retailer with near perfect feedback. Says the reel should be there Thursday or Friday so let's hope it goes well and I may find an Ebay bug =). Are shipping times they list pretty spot on? Do you generally have to sign for reels when they come? The only fishing items I've had delivered were tackle (usually just comes in a box in my mailbox) and rods from st. croix that come in a tube they just dumb in front of my door. I'll clean the reel myself when I get it but is there anything I need to look for? I read somewhere there was a batch of bad curado 50s floating around. I suppose it wouldn't be the end of the world..nothing DVT probably couldn't fix but here's my one time to a good ebay experience.

Im accustomed to buying things in store and I've never had to use ebay for fishing items...until i want a reel (another curado 50) thats d/c. Im a bit out of the loop on prices for these as i bought mine for 119.00 and 99.00 and am very aware tjese are worth north of 150. The cheapest i can find via ebay is 154.00. Standard now a days? Not a big deal just curious. Is paypal the best method as payment /w paypal smart connect? Am i instantly billed so i can pay it off? Is the shipping estimation correct? Ive had my debit card stolen where i was refunded but im not using that at all to pay to the seller. Do i have to put money into the paypal account first to use the smart connect? They gave me a credit limit so im not sure. I know these answers are probably on the site but a lot of you buy off the nay alot amd are probably well versed with it. Thanks guys.
