  1. More like diaherrito
  2. Specifics would help... price range, glass or tin, etc
  3. I wanna party with you, cowboy
  4. Ha! I've done that before too. I had a motor guide 82 digital on my last boat and hit some logs in current on the trolling motor and it immediately started pushing me backwards . I did it two or three times but I hit them a little harder than you probably should .I pulled the trolling motor and then redeployed it and it worked fine. My solution… Stop hitting stuff:) i'm sure someone on here can give you an in-depth answer as to why but I never worried about mine. Never had a single issue with that TM. It might have something to do with the magnets in the head I'm not sure
  5. Get an anchor to hold you in place.
  6. I'm assuming you're talking about getting a jon boat and adding a casting deck... 1. 14'+and 48' + wide. The wider it is, the more stable it will be. 2. Bassboat upgrade? If by that you mean adding a casting deck and a little storage to a jon boat, then yes. 3. a 12v 45# trolling motor will move but not that great. Look for a 24v 70(ish)# thrust TM for speed and longer battery life. 4. If you're handy, probably.
  7. Does anybody feel they need more than 60 seconds per pick? ESPN doesn't let me make it 90 for rounds *** and 60 there after. It's set at 60 at the moment but if anybody feels they would like 90, I'll change it. If anybody has connection problems prior to the draft(or during it), let me know via PM and i'll give you my cell number so you can text me your picks and i'll put them in for you while you reconnect.
  8. If I had the time, I would custom make every rod I own. All things equal, A rod built to your exact speifications and requirements trumps off the shelf everytime.
  9. Well...B it is.
  10. You should be seeing 14.4(ish)v at WOT on your HDS9 while running. Assuming your battery was fully charged prior to going out, your battery should read 12.6-12.7 when put in gear at idle, 13.3-13.6(ish) when in neutral and it should go up when in gear and revving the engine/moving at RPMS above 1500 or so to 14.4 give or take .1-.3. Since you only started at 12v (which is pretty close to a dead battery. If you read 12v, your battery was only 25% full which is really, really bad for it.-a fully charged battery with no load should be 12.6-12.7) you may want to look into a new cranking battery if it hasn't been charged/charging properly for a while. Hopefully you see a higher voltage next time out if it was charging. Charge your batteries after every use!
  11. Okay guys I need a final vote here on the line up format. Scoring will stay the same as it was last year. Looks like we will have another 8 person league. I will keep the sign up open until Monday night. If we don't get 1 more by then, Mrs. IAbass8 will take the 8th spot and the league will then be closed. Please indicate which line up you prefer (A or A. QB(1 max) 3WR (5 max) 3RB(5 max) TE(2 max) FLEX(RB/WR/TE) DST(2 max) 7 bench spots B. QB(1 max) 3WR (4 max-should this be 5?) 2RB(4 max) TE(2 max) FLEX(RB/WR/TE) DST(2 max) 6 bench spots 3 RB sounds fun with 8 people but I think when we get to bye weeks, teams may just punt the 3rd WR/RB position to keep X player when 2 RB and 1 less bench spots accomplishes the same thing. I think if we go option 2, WR should be 5 max due to the flex spot if I'm thinking about this right. Either way, it's up to you guys.
  12. Thank you sir! Still waiting on @FordsnFishinto accept the invite. He's already paid in full so hopefully he doesn't forget to accept. 9 DAYS TO DRAFT DAY!
  13. New glx were shown at icast a month ago
  14. As long as the motor runs well and has no issues (you should get it checked out because anybody half wit can polish a turd for a short while), there's no soft spots on the floor, transom/hull cracks it's a fair price. Older Rangers hold their value pretty well.
  15. @Raider Nation Fisher girlfriends pictures and love tapes don't count. Get some real evidence.
  16. @NorcalBassin and @FordsnFishin please accept the invite and join the league. If you are having issues or didn't get it let me know and ill get you set up.
  17. impossible to say. too many variables. construction (glass/tin). prop pitch, prop blades, hull design, how much weight in boat, jackplate. Same goes for 18' boat. 90hp on an 18' tin is fine. 90hp on an 18' glass would be miserabble. If you buy a boat stock from a manufacturer they can give you a good estimate of top end speed range within 3-5 mph. If you know specific boat/motor, you could get a better answer. Simlly asking for top end on an 18' boat /w a 90hp motor will get 11 different answers from 11 people.
  18. We now have 7 so far guys. My wife will be the 8th if need be but ill leave this open for 1 more for another week if anybody else wants the last spot.
  19. My mistake. I've been corrected on pole setting 100 times and I still get it wrong when referring to the numbers on the back of tach. I believe your gray wire on the back of the tach runs to your regulator and rectifier on the engine.
  20. x2. I will also add that when you start the motor at the dock and idle away, don't trim down. keep the motor level or trim up if shallow. AFTER you break the motor in and are ready to go wide open, find a large, deep area that you know well. Put the boat in gear, trim all the way down and give it lots of throttle. the easier you go on the throttle when fully trimmed down, the more sluggish and longer it will take to get on pad. Your nose will rise and then it will start to drop when you pick up speed. Start trimming up when the nose starts to drop. go slowly to get used to it at first. If you have a trim gauge, aim for level trim when up on pad and adjust from there. if its windy and choppy, trim down a 1/4 if you're uncomfortable. The only thing you will feel will be the boat running easier/easier to steer and you will pick up more speed. If you have a hotfoot, you will feel it easier to accelerate to higher rpms as you trim up due to less drag. You'll be fine. You'll get the hang of it in a day.
