Striper aka rockfish are a nice white meat. Big fillet pieces(think salmon squares) baked or breaded and fried very versitile on prep. Blues are oily, when we eat it cut into small pieces and do a cornmeal dredge and fry like fish tenders....or smoke it in a smoker if an option.

Looks like a bandit email them. Even if you don't see the color on the site they might carry it. I got a color, purple tiger, from BPS. I emailed bandit when I couldn't find the color. They replied in a timely manner confirming it was a special retailer color but I could order it directly from bandit if I wished.

Just to clarify they are not spring fed. They are just clear retention ponds. There are a few others around. alot depends on the outlet structure and if it keeps the water moving. Small fish are typical because most these ponds down here are newer built in 2007. Biggest I got outta there was 3 pounds. But ton of little fish, fun spot I take my boys there. If your looking for bigger fish, the FBI is in the right area. North got older ponds, check out the Tinseltown area, them ponds connect with big under road culverts. Google earth it.

I think their cranking rods have decent reviews, as for the rest of the lineup most complaints I seem are the are all mod fast, build quality issues and lack of info like lure ratings and telling people before they buy them the are mod fast.

I would use 40 pound braid as mainline and add a leader as needed. Think that is the best all around you can get right there.

Mono, I use 10# sufix elite or seige. But I hear sunline is the bee knees and might pick some up in the near future. TW has it usually for very good prices.

Bro it is ok, some people need to make themselves feel better for paying $400 so their reels can weigh less than a brick and they can pay another $100 in parts for the reel because they didnt like the parts it was engineered with lol. It helps them sleep better. Leaves more quantums for us. Bwahahaha It is kinda, no exactly, like Ford/chevy/dodge versus Honda/toyota.

The quantums I used and own worked great. I plan on purchasing more. I think they are the most underrated reels. Issues I hear about are no different than issues other brands have time to time. Oh well their loss I love mine

Spooks used to do that to me on my spinning gear, use heavier/stiffer line (went from 8# elite to 10# seige) or feather the spool(even on spinning) to keep the bait out in front of the line.

They are pretty popular, because they are built well, but look around on ebay on the forum flea markets. For good condition $100 max. Like I said you can buy the next version up(basically like a silver smoke with rainbow bits) not the newest, that is lighter and smaller to palm. I like both those versions of the energy my buddy has had his 760 for 6 yrs and I used it and I have had mine for about 6 mo. and it has been great. I hear good things about lews a few buddies use them, but can't speak for that model and compare them to the energys.
