  1. I started out with strike kings, ok but Solar Bats are probably as inexpensive as I would go. Look for closeouts and deals on costa de mar. They are well worth it, even their plastic lenses blow away the competition.
  2. Incase anyone hasn't seen it I was checking out the stocking list for 2013/2014/2015 http://myfwc.com/fishing/freshwater/stocking/ Also check out the guides and maps of your local lakes https://public.myfwc.com/CrossDoi/Publications/Internet/sSearch.aspx
  3. And here is this site I found. http://www.kingsleylake.org/facts/
  4. GO TERPS!
  5. Stone brewing ruination IPA. Amazing stuff, 8% if you can find it, you MUST try it
  6. Talked to the folks at committee. So it is pretty much on lock down, you need to find a friend that can get you on. Our pack is camping there in April. They said we could fish, sites right on lake. I will let you know more.
  7. ^^^this. Carbonlite is great rod for the $
  8. Good reel I got the energy BC on closeout from cabelas. Look around there are a few quantum threads that mention the spinning reels.
  9. Check this out guys.... http://www.bassmaster.com/gear/quantums-reel-lands-heavy-award
  10. Just looked the response is on sale for 44.99
  11. Check out the quantum response, believe it used the same qx48 IM8 blanks. You can find these at gander for 60 bucks and online. The reviews I read are favorable for the price and it has a nice reel seat. Also if you look around you might be able to find the HSX 54 blanks on ebay or something for under 100.
  12. X2 Jax been same going of late and I had similar results as last year too.
  13. Just hit a spot today that was spawned out. Empty beds, small bucks, yearlings and a ton of short strikes and small fish.
  14. Prefabricated/modular construction is becoming an effiecent and cost effective way to build facilities, food and drug industries. I agree with craww's post most are built better than traditional stick built construction. Mainly getting over the stigma than anything else. As far as bids go get 3-5 Ideally 5 and throw out the highest and lowest. Money saved may be wasted in time spent being a GC or baby sitting a builder. I have worked with them all my life I have found very few good ones out there.
  15. Thanks man appreciate it. I am up here in Jax. I may get a chance in a couple months to head down and fish with lou if all works out as planned. This thread got me thinking
  16. Learned pretty quickk Hard cast = backlash. It is really about getting comfortable thumbing with less break.
  17. I have a 6'-6" mh/f Carbonlite. It is a very light, durable and most importantly sensative rod. You cans do a variety of tactics but it excels at Texas rigs and jigs. It is worth every penny.
  18. Talk to Lou about the casting he is better at explaining, he helped me getting started. I think you are casting to hard to get distance. you need to just throw nice easy motion. start with more brake, short distances, bake off the brake and add more thumb pressure until you get the hang. Light lures just ain't gonna go as fat as heavy plus a little better reel would help too......a good reel in the 150 got a few choices, lews, daiwa, quantum, Abu Garcia. I personally like my quantum energies, i also have a lower end daiwa and like it as well. But I would say get a lews. Hear a ton of good things about them in that price range you would be set.
  19. Cool man, snazzy, you got a great spot. Peas definitely on my bucket list.......Lou we may need to make a stop for these too!
  20. Use the incredi craw. Good bait have watermelon seed , t-rigged bottom hopping or dragging and flipping it to cover worked last summer. Buddy picked some okochobee color up recently he caught some fish on it. I never use the fat max but their regular ribbon tails 7 and 10 inch are good. They make decent stuff at a fair price.
  21. All I know is the Boy and Cub Scout frequently use it. As far as public use I dunno. Here is one I was just at, camp Ekochotee. It is off doctors lake with docks, couple ponds too. Looks like a good spot. Again don't know if public or just scouts have access. I will ask around, Tuesday we have our monthly commitee meeting.
  22. EZ does it! Nice fish
  23. Nice job Rick you really been on the fish last couple days.
  24. Nice looking lake. All them trees and stumps in the water. Nice fish
  25. I was reading on another forum discussing a more sevre cold and what they would do. The consensus was they want to come in a spawn, retreat isn't an option. They are holding in between, check first drop off or deep water near where they spawn.
