  1. hahaha...I thought their reels were well kinda plain and the ones I could afford I didn't like(the citca HATE WHITE)....Then I saw the Mentanium. I was like wow I could go for that. I dunno if my wife could tho. LOL
  2. My one issue with the Carbonlite is the guides. I have a spinning rod and while I LOVE the blank the guides seem large, delicate and dainty to me. Now I am thinking hard about the Shimano . And I just told my wife I would never buy one of those Shimano I don't know how to feel Thanks for the input LMG
  3. How about the Clarus? That any good. 20 bucks cheaper and and I like the sparkly black, goes with the reel better.
  4. Supposed to be CHILLY tomorrow morning. 40 something.....Speaking of chilly my kids went out to play today, 36 degree, liam my oldest hit the door and turned around, after ten minutes the next one comes in and five minutes later the littlest came in LOL My wife said he is never going north of Jacksonville again LOL...I told her it was 60 this morning and I had to put on a hoodie to go fishing.
  5. Bomber, Xcalibur, Bandit. Rapala are my favorites. Won't break the bank and most, especially the xcaliburs run great out of the box with some good hooks too.
  6. That way you can make sure there is NO pink goo in there. LOL But you ain't lying right there that will make the best burgers ever.
  7. Nope I learned old school switching hands, it is the only thing I will agree with RW on.LOL But I think I wouldn't mind a lefty if I got the chance. I bought it at Cabelas a while ago, all they had left was a righty and 7.0....TW was holding at 128 for a loooong time until a month or so ago then they dropped their price to 98. So tell me LMG what is your opinion on a rod. I want the sweet spot to throw 1/2 oz spinnerbaits, 1/2 oz jigs plus trailers and buzzbaits. At least a MH and the max is 100 but might go 120...Carbonlite is on the radar. Falcon Original head turner. I like the shimano, the green ones, the handles and reel seat I like the looks but the review called them TIP heavy.
  8. You know why I picked it? Because it was ON SALE!!! hahaha...I wanted a "starter" BC reel and was looking for aluminum and centrifugal brakes around a 100-120....Then this baby went on sale for $99 from $189 I also fished my buddies energy, it was the slick all crazy chrome green model a few older than this...it was nice, he said it has held up.
  9. Quantum Energy PT VI in 7.0:1 You want to hear what I am learning(well I am pretty good now) on? An old Abu Ultra Mag I ....that thing is a TANK in every sense of the word. LOL I hate the spool release, who thought of that?
  10. Yeah that is going to be me next month.
  11. Well LMG I feel your pain about the new reel. I got a sweet new reel all shiney and boxed up, been shopping rods for God nows how long and I still have about 2 months(Christmas) to go!
  12. HAHAHA I know I had to rub it in. For me this week it is no wife no kids no rules...well just one and it is fish whenever I am not working. LOL So far that hasn't paid off, my numbers are comprable to LMGs
  13. But wheres his fish? ......could these be tactics of a ninja
  14. The word "athlete" is a romanization of the Greek: άθλητὴς, athlētēs, one who participates in a contest; from ἂθλος, áthlos, or ἂθλον, áthlon, a contest or feat. I say yes, while it might not be the most physically demanding sport, however it tests mental strength and ability, hand eye coordination. You could also put it into a class of sports/events like the equestrian, archery etc.
  15. Got two nice misses this morning, one on a foxy lady xcalibur lipless and another on a rattlesnake. Close to shore they were, water was murky and light wind with a little chop in places. No chasing was going on, sitting and waiting or cruising, the bank cruisers didn't seem interested in eating.
  16. Texas rigged, dragging or hopping...tossing to cover. My buddy and son get a keel weighted hook and dragging or swimming.
  17. Oooh you let that slip out. lol
  18. It heard that it was going to be living with a bunch of Sheemanos and jumped off the back of the delivery truck
  19. Depends on price, the president is a work horse and a steal at 50 bucks, but like other manufacturers there are more expensive offerings from pflueger. I have a president and President XT(which was replaced by the purist) and the XT is better and I like it more. I would step it up a notch or two and go with the purist or better if you can swing the cash.
  20. Welcome, sounds like you got bit by the bug. This place is great for learning new things and making a few friends along the way. I was born and raised in Md., near randalstown, but live in Florida now. Glad to see a fellow Terp on board to help educate these folks about crabs and scrapple.
  21. The proper term is "truck nuts"
  22. and the naked women mud flapps
  23. LOL I know right! Couldn't get up this morning stayed up late watching overhaulin and getting phone calls about my 3 yr being an egg head in the hotel at 2 am. Hit the water at 6:45 and the fishes apparently didn't get the invite. Geese everywhere. But I get to fish this even! so I will try to redeem myself.
  24. Nice man, my brother in law has a 07 4x4 v8 that is pushing north side of 350k miles. And now you can purchase a gun rack and one of those decals that make the entire rear window the stars n bars! Maybe even pick up a AR for a proper truck gun....then again that is moose country....maybe a M240. Just remember to step out of the vehicle before chambering...check out a few episodes of north woods law and you'll be good...up there doughnuts are for bears not people...crazy yanks. Lmao
