  1. Mutt, he out did most us folks in the comp today lol. Very nice fish! Gator, I am with you, there was one time the bite was on with my son and he got his pb. The rest of the time when we go out we have to work. It is so frustrating!
  2. Man that is awesome! Hats off to your son going out in the rain...paid off! You got yourself a real fisherman there, bet you are proud and rightly so.
  3. I know where u mean AK. Little far for me to drive. Don't fish much on the weekends. I will tell u what fishing after 8 or 9 am sucks. Evening isn't so bad but the middle day sucks. I will pm u the loc I am talking about.
  4. This was down on Phillips, but were yall up on gate today? I fished the spot, that were I got the 3, but I was headed over to tinsel town and saw a couple dudes fishing this big pond right before the shell station on gate/Deerfield.

My mom and dad were alive, think they were 14. They been watching the conspiracy stuff, they were telling me about the one where this gun expert thought the fatal shot came from the secret service guy, think the name was Hickey, in the car behind. He tripped the safety to his AR and accidently shot a round that hit JFK in a scramble after the first shots were fired. Thought it was an interesting and plausible story. Especially with the obvious difference in the two rounds that hit JFK.
  6. Went out from 6:15 today til about 11....Hit several spots some old some new. Think one of the new spots might be AK's he been holding out on LOL, talking with a gentleman that works next to the pond said couple guys were there caught about 15. Man I was late for me, there about 10 am and fished it half hearted til about 11. Fishted a proven spot, missed a strike while fielding a phone call, and the spot of the day I got 3 in an hour and a half, biggest was 16-17 but skinny. I will post him up later as I don't have a cord to upload at the moment. All three were between 7 and 830 with rattlesnakes in ssabednarg. 1/16 bullet 4/0 hook. This time it was either the fall or the first movement after the intial cast. Going back out this afternoon around 4 or 5 pm and fish for a couple then some new spots near church tomorrow.
  7. Does that mean a women's shoe store is in the works?
  8. I am going with under 7...fish in the pic you holding right at 6 pounds 10 ounces The one on the ground I would put at 4 pounds 2 ounces Nice fish by the way and thank you for the cool contest.
  9. Some of the best PMs are from the field because they know what the heck goes on and how to get it done right, on time and under budget.
  10. You read my mind Fly......Slone you may also consider project manager or super work on the site might fit the bill. Check out this website to get an idea of some things.http://www.stellar.net/careers/opportunities.aspx Good luck Edit: and going to school for a degree, there are some 2yr programs that work around work schedule. Many employers in the industry may hiring based directly on your experience in the field and pay for school or not even require it.
  11. I just recently learned to use a caster. My first reel used was my buddies quantum energy. He then let me us an old Abu ultra mag I and that is what I been getting most of my practice in with. But I did pick up a newer(than his) energy on sale for $100 bucks. The quantums I have handled are nice. I know folks say the code or code red are decent reels.
  12. Gator...123456 gave some good recommendations. There are soooo many options it will hurt your head. I just got my first caster, learned on a buddies, and am looking for a rod. You can get good to really really nice rods for 70-100 bucks. I wouldn't spend over that IMO, I looked at the kistler and they are nice, but there are many others too, like the carbon lite, the clarus and fenwick HMX, you will find one that you like. As far as casters LMG will offer his opinion I am sure. Main think I looked for was Aluminum frame, either or or both for the brakes it all boils down to you gonna need to use what you get. It is not that hard to learn if you talk to someone proficient and my buddy showed me the ropes. Thumb on the spool is the key and not throwing with all your might. In all honesty my firend just gave me a berkley lightning and that aint a bad little rod and I picked a 189 dollar reel up for 99 because it was an older model and they are getting rid of it. Just keep eyes pealed on deals
  13. I got an hour in tonight. Missed 3 strikes on lizard. Going in the morning. Even if it is 39 degrees.
  14. So I fished that rod, the lightning, u r right it is a lot stiffer than advertised. It is even more ridged than my Carbonlite. Me likes, so far so good.
  15. ^^^this. My first 19 two weeks ago was taken in a protected cove out of the wind. Now today the whole lake was chop but the two I got were in the area of least disturbance.
  16. I will be here too even if it is just me an u duking it out dink by dink lol
  17. Man I have been having a time figuring things out myself just sometimes things click once in a while. As afar as weather up hear another front or two coming through this weekend, but they gotta eat sometime hopefully it is when I am on the water.
  18. It is a casting and it is the lighting....not the lighting shock orange deal....I just throw a bubble wrap reel on there and fish...I got my nice one a waiting.
  19. U figure right? So I got gifted a berkley lightning rod. MH/F looking for a cheap real to put on it. Been trolling fleabay....Abu Torno...Quantum lite....ten bucks. LOL
  20. Daylight saving and cold weather have killed this thread LOL c'mon guys and gals yall ain't fishing anymore?
  21. Liar! todays time was 6:30 to 7.....I have proof 19" with a 12.25" girth, very fat and heavy 17.5" nice and thick also Landed them on a watermelon magic red flake rattlesnake with a 4/0 VMC sure set EWG and a 1/16 BPS bullet weight on 10 pound Sufix seige mono with a Carbonlite/Pflueger spinning combo. It was CHILLY! 48 with 26 MPH winds....I thought I in Maine for a minute almost posted these in the NE thread...lol
  22. If you ask around on here there are some folks that know a guide or two in that area. Check out with a search of the Southeast thread, I know a Disney fishing thread has some guides mentioned. If you book a guide there is no need for you to rent they provide the equipment, pretty sure that is how it works so ask before you try to fit your rod on the plane.
  23. Hey man, I used to live in St. Pete. Bass fishing is rough around there, now saltwater is a different story. RovingMutt and a few other members live close by and I know he goes to fish in lakeland. But you have lake tarpon(limited shore access), the hillsborough and braden rivers close by. And if you are spending money on a guide I would suggest traveling the 60 to 70 minutes over to Kissimmee and hitting a guide on TOHO prespawn/spawn you aught to be on the big girls then. WORTH EVERY PENNY.
  24. Hahahaha that is funny. Hope she is not fishbook friends with Martin, he might use this against you next time you fish around on him with Lou.
