How are the water temps looking in northern WI?

You’re right. It is a big state and I was very general. Crazy that big lakes are still mostly covered. Spawn will be running behind this year. Hope the ice moves out soon for you guys.

I know this past weekend was the opener and that many places up north had ice on later than normal...any word on water temps/bass activity? thanks

Nice update. Gotta think that the fish that were moving up were probably set back with the weather/temp changes. Guessing that water levels will be up fairly significantly. What is the vegetation like? Behind, ahead or on pace with a normal year? Thanks!

Been an interesting stretch of weather up there over the last few weeks. As it relates to fish, I'm guessing they're pretty out of whack when it comes to doing their thing this time of year. Should be interesting.

I'm two weeks out from being up there but it looks like things are warming up pretty steady right now. I'll probably hit you up mid to late next week to get an update. Too big to carry on. I'm traveling by plane next week for a fishing trip, and have previously. Plano rod tube, checked...is what I do.

So it sounds like the spawn is getting close, with warm and rainy weather on it's way. I'll be up there next week, I'll make sure to pack rain gear.

Really can't go too big. Especially for big fish, which are looking to maximize the return of their energy output.
