Best Fishing Of Your Life!
Wow. Sounds amazing. I'll be up there next week....can't wait. My best day, which was actually 6, was about 7 years ago on a canoe trip in the BWCA.

Not My Night
If a tree doesn't eat your lure now and then you're not really trying.

Pond Bass Weight
4 lbs seems about right. Nice fish.

Hook Set Question - Flukes/worm
Agree. Not sure if I pay attention to "taps", more trying to feel weight or a consistent line movement. But when in doubt...

Could I Have Done Anything Different?
Based on what I read, I'm not sure it had anything to do with you. I've had long battles with LM in the heat of the summer and I've never seen a fish go belly up like that. Very hard to say.

Line Conditioner
I've never tried Reel Magic or Ardent but I love KVD's stuff. Really does make a difference.

Northern Wisconsin Fishing Trip
Are you sure? I always thought SM spawn at cooler temps than LM.

Northern Wi Bass Spawn
Thanks tipp. Sounds like the river is tough right now. Hope it chills out soon so you have better luck.

Jig Fishing On Spinning Gear
Cool. What kind of line do you use?

Jig Fishing On Spinning Gear
I'm going to give it a try. We'll see how it goes.

Froggin' Problem
The only 2 things that come to mind are downsize and trailer hook.

Jig Fishing On Spinning Gear
Well I definitely don't want to break my rod, but I've been using 30 lb braid for a while now without issue. Now I haven't used it for jig fishing so I guess we'll see.

Catch And Release Survival Rate
Yeah, I guess by cutting the line I'm hoping to be picking the lesser of 2 evils.

Jig Fishing On Spinning Gear
30 lb braid is too much for my set up? Why?
-
Jig Fishing On Spinning Gear
Makes sense. I know you mentioned inshore saltwater, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference, but what kind of set up do you use?
-
Jig Fishing On Spinning Gear
Ok. My set up would be a 6'6" medium rod and 30 lb Power Pro. So I guess as long as I stay to jigs under 1/2 oz I should be ok?

Catch And Release Survival Rate
100% agree with this.

Catch And Release Survival Rate
When it comes to largemouth, this isn't something I really worry about. Not because I'm insensitive but because I have never seen a bass come belly up on me after release. I make sure to take extra care when a fish is hooked badly (cut line). I've spent a lot of time fishing, catching and releasing muskies, now that's a completely different ball game.

Northern Wisconsin Fishing Trip
Can anyone in Northern WI/MN tell me if they have seen signing of largemouth spawning? Thanks

Jig Fishing On Spinning Gear
You always see guys flippin and pitchin jigs using baitcasting gear...but can you effectively use spinning gear for jig fishing? Pros or cons? Thanks

Northern Wi Bass Spawn
I wasn't offended. Just wanted to explain why I was leaving KY for WI to fish for largemouth. I'm a UWSP grad, spent a good number of days fishing the river in Mosinee back in the day. Was always a good time.

Northern Wi Bass Spawn
Thanks Scott. Hope you guys are having a great week. I've had a good time tracking your trip through your posts.

Florida Bass Weight Estimate Needed
That looks bigger than 7 lbs 15 oz. Really nice fish.

Northern Wi Bass Spawn
I'm a WI boy, KY transplant. I'd much rather be fishing on any WI lake than anywhere in KY. Thanks for the info tipp. I figured things were behind but I know it has been warming up lately, just curious on how things are progressing.
