  11. Hay Craig, Let me start out saying I'm not a flipping expert at the least or at least yet, plan on working on it this year but that's for another thread. You say your flipping style doesn't follow your description of flipping when you're trying to explain it to someone and you want to know which one is right? Well both are right way to do it, the style you use gets the job done for you and I bet if someone that your trying to teach will be able to flip the way your telling them to. It's like watching two golf swings, let's take Tiger Woods swing and it looks the way a golf swing should look like the club head goes back on plain then goes down on plain, and then you take Lee Trevino and his golf swing to me is one of the ugliest swings you will ever see, his goes back on one plain and then down on another plain but both swings get the job done and Lee is one of if not the most accurate player in the history of the PGA Tour. Know both of them will tell you the same thing when trying to explain the golf swing to you but if you have ever seen Lee's swing it doesn't look anything like he will explain it to you, all that matters is that you have the golf club square at impact no matter how you get it there. Now in flipping what I can see is that a good flip depends on when you start to give the line at the right moment of the pendulum movement of the bait, too soon and you will under shoot your target and if it's to late the bate will fly to high and over shoot the target and when you stop it it splashes down in the water but if you give it line at the right moment it will fly just above the water and land softly with out a splash. So basically when your explaining how to flip your more of giving them guidelines to follow. It doesn't matter what the motion looks like to get the bait to start the pendulum movement as long as the outcome is what you want, that's the way I see it. I hope this can help some. Paul
  12. Ya, it looks good until you get home and see that the water has frozen onto your car and the salt residue is all over your car again. ;D I've had that happened to me lot's of times up here in the dead of winter.
  13. Shad_Master just so you know it's Aaron Marten's :-? not Arron Martens the Bass Elite Series Pro that's hosting the show Bass Edge. I made the same mistake until I watched the show yesterday, still a decent show. So no mumbling ;D
  14. Flippin, did you get the wide spool or the regular spool Summit? I read that the wide spool brings in 30" IPC's where the regular spool is only 28" IPC's.
  15. Bass said that if any one of the top ten anglers could not fish next year they would fill up the field from the anglers that didn't make the top ten in the wildcard tournament by going down the list from 11th on down till they fill the list for next year. So apparently Brian and Guy were able to come up with the money and the angler before them opted to not fish or couldn't get the money.

  20. This year I worked on fishing frogs, soft plastics and walking the dog, next year it's jigs, dropshot and deep water.
  21. Here's mine that I just cought this past weekend in my first tournament. It was the lunker 5.17lb. and helped me come in second place.
  22. I'd say my dad I have pics of me fishing at three for pan fish of the dock. Then around 5 or 6 I started to fish out of a boat for pike with my dad and mom and fished for them for 17 years. took ten years off and know fish for bass the past two years.
  23. I know this is a little off topic but two weeks ago I was fishing off the dock and caught a dink about a year old and I don't know if a birth defect or what caused it but the whole upper lip of the fish was gone. I wish I had a camera with me so I could post a pic, It was the weirdist thing ever.
  24. In the Book KNOWING BASS The Scientific Approach to Catching More Bass says that "the bass may be as chemically sensitive as a dog, but the dog probably perceives a lot more oders." this might help.
