  1. A couple years ago I went down to Alabama with my uncle to visit some family friends. We were fishing a private pond and I happened to get hung up on a log or something. I was doing everything I could think of to try to get my lure back besides going in the water. After about ten minutes of yanking on this thing, my lure came flying out of the water like a missle headed straight for me. Tried to get out of the way, but I ended up taking a x-rap treble hook right in the calf. Had to pull it out with pliers, didn't hurt at the time because I think I was in shock. The next morning when I woke up I could barely walk, felt like someone shot me in my leg. I learned my lesson and I'm way more careful now. Trebles = Trouble
  2. I've watched a few vids on youtube of people noodling for snapping turtles, talk about walnuts!
  3. That thing is an ugly little sucker!!
  4. Zoom Super Hogs are durable, they have less action compared to a Brush Hog, but sometimes that's the key.
  5. Braid- Suffix 832 or Suffix Performance. Fluoro- Seaguar InvizX (Searching for something better, hate the stretch!) Used to use Spiderwire Ultracast 100% Flouro but I guess BPS doesn't carry it anymore.
  6. Same goal every year... try to beat my p.b. of 4lbs 11oz from way back in '09. I'll get a 5 one of these days..hopefully
  7. I like the Booyah Boo jig with a baby paca craw for the thick stuff, sparse cover I use Rage Craw and cut the length down a little. Lately I've been experimenting with a Pit Boss as my trailer.
  8. If i'm using a trailer, it's usually some sort of grub. If i'm getting short strikes and feel the need for a trailer hook, I take the grub off. The reason is i'm trying to make a smaller profile for the short strikes, and when I've used a grub with a trailer hook, I end up hooking the tail/tails on the grub every other cast.
  9. I've broken many lips on the DT's. A couple of times it happened, I couldn't figure out why or how.
  10. Lost a SK red eye lipless on my first cast, hung up on a stump. I've done the same thing with new jigs, but not on the first cast.
  11. In addition to what's already been posted... Sweet beaver, SK rodent, Biffle bug, and Rage Tail Space Monkey.
  12. I broke off on this guy, 15 minutes later I got 'em. Double 3/0 gamakatsu ewg's in the throat. Took out both hooks and released.
  13. On a gut hooked fish, i pull my plastic up the line to get it out of the way. Then I grab the bend of the hook with pliers and go down into the gut. Once you get the hook out, try not to re-hook the fish coming back out of the gut. I've done "surgery" on many bass and this method has worked the best for me.
  14. I like that tip for "high sticking" because I've been known to do that to get fish over the muck. I wont be doing that anymore tho.
  15. I work retail, so every customer that comes in the door I say "Hi, how are you doing today?", nothing is more annoying then when they're on their phones and give me the look like "Can't you see I'm on the phone?". Sorry for doing my job!
  16. Nice one! I say at least 4 lbs
  17. Awesome vid! What a hog, nice job!!!
  18. spinnerbait, swim jig, and ANY soft plastic
  19. Caught my biggest this year so far, on 5" senko
  20. I have one with cork handle and one with the split grip. The cork is more comfortable but after using the new handle for a while I got used to it. The Bionic Blades are on sale for $20 off right now.
