Why Does It Matter If The Box Is Included?
Similar to Francho, I keep all revelant information inside all my reel boxes. Besides, I usually gift the reels that I part with instead of selling them, (do not ask why because idk) and seeing a reel in its box is exciting to the receiver of the gift.

No I am not. Curious why you ask? Interesting question.

10Lb Power Pro Breaking Issues
10lb power pro has a diameter of 2lb mono. You have to treat as such. Idk how you set the hook on the two fish that got away, however your hooksets cannot be too hard or else you will snap the line. The only other thing I can think of was that the line could have been frayed already.

30Lb. Or 40Lb. Braid : Lightest Used On Baitcast Reel ?
Your safest bet in the "all others" category imho would be 30-40lb range. Besides your still talking about a diameter equivalent to 8 -10lb mono. That's still pretty thin. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Hialeah Limestone Quarries
Yeah, I know where you are talking about. Rinker is much farther West. I scouted that area last year. I could have sworn the big lakes were fenced off. The only thing that I saw was a canal that runs East West toward I-75. Besides that whole area within 3 yrs is going to be developed land. Good luck if you get out there.

Hialeah Limestone Quarries
How are you getting in there? Isn't that all owned by Rinker? If so, its private property and security will not have a problem running you out. People that I knew years ago fished out of one those quarries. They filled up on nice pea's I saw the pics, but they have thicker skin than I do, cuz it was all on private land.

Dobyns Or St. Croix
I own and fish with both. Both great rods, my nod goes toward the Champion. Balances a lot better than the LTB. Both my LTB and the Champion are H models.

Solo Trip West Of The Miami River
Too bad you had to go solo. I don't like hearing the water is higher. But that's the way the cycle is in the Glades this time of year. The rain this week definitely didn't help.

30Lb. Or 40Lb. Braid : Lightest Used On Baitcast Reel ?
40lb braid is the ideal diameter for BC's. Digging is minimal, and having the extra thickness helps the line hold up better in cover. 30lb, works well too, but it digs alot more. 20lbs although some have said they have had no issues with it, I feel it's a recipe for a lot of heartache and frustration. 20lbs and under should be utilized in spinner's and 30lb and higher on b/c's.

I see how my remark could have upset you. For that I apologize. Being that you are seasoned in forums, you can understand how coming out of the blue and talking about an airboat trip sounded out of place. To me at least. Lastly, your profile is empty. There is 0 info about you. Maybe if you fill that information out and share something about yourself, your welcome, at least from me would have been different. Best of luck on your airboat trip.

Should Your Guide Be Fishing?
The only time I have gone on a guided trip, I encouraged my guide to fish. He is on his home turf, and as soon as he found a pattern, then it benefited me because it gave me an idea of the fish in that area.

New To Miami
I second what George is speaking of. If I insinuated kayaking in the glades then I apologize. My kayak comment was geared toward fishing canals and lakes accessible by canal. Gators can be unpredictable sometimes and higher you are from them the better.

New To Miami
Definitely jump on google earth. Kendall has some pretty good places I have always been curious to try whenever I am down there. A member that pops up every once in a while called Cutler Jay lives around your area. If you can get a hold of him he may be more helpful than me. Feel free to check out my profile, many of my friends are South FL members that can probably help you as well. Good luck, and welcome to Miami and BR.

A Great Tip For The "new Guys"
I have been on this forum for quite some time now. This site is a great place to learn valuable information of our beloved sport. With that being said. The message I would like to convey to all the "new members" is to truly update your profiles. Just taking the time to properly fill out your profile will help all of us provide you with the best information specific to your area. More likely than not, there may be active BR member(s) living within 20 miles of you. The suggestions given by local members I find are the best "tips" than those probably living from the other side of the country (in some cases). I am at fault for having a very "blah" profile when I first became a member. My reason being, because I am a private person and to release some pieces of my info out there to the world paranoid's me. However, I have found that if you provide some pieces of information like: age, favorite fishing places, and general location of where you live, these nuggets of info will be enough to receive key advice that can help your fishing situation tremendously. Leaving out age for example I find is critical, because we assume we are interacting with an adult, and after reading some posts you realize OMG, we have been communicating with a minor the whole time. The advice given may have been completely different if that vital piece of info was provided. Lastly, I feel that a profile is a key piece for finding connections with other anglers. Just knowing a member is from your state, city, or town, can increase your chances of making a new friend, enter a new bass club, or just knowing someone that you can network with. Anyways, I just wanted to get this off my chest, so that it will help new members the same way this has helped me.

New To Miami
Welcome to Miami. What parts of Miami? My best suggestion to you is google earth. It's a very resourceful tool. Depending whereabouts you live, you will have plenty of spots available. There are canals galore down here. They all contain nice bass and plenty of exotics. There are lakes, however accessibility can be a challenge. They are either on private and/or commercial land. More than likely there will be no trespassing signs posted all over. Depending on your $$ situation I will recommend a you get small 8-10 ft aluminum boat or easier yet, a kayak. That will greatly increase your chances of finding really good spots that you can't reach by foot. As far as baits, take your pick. There is a myriad of soft plastics that you can throw with great success. Jerk baits, jigs, topwater baits. These will work well as well. Your main focus should be becoming familiar with your area, learn your spots, and understand the seasons down here, and be patient. LOL.. I know it seems like summer down here all the time, but that is not really the case. Best of luck, maybe we will cross paths one day.
