Alberto Knot Braid To Fluorocarbon "wearing Out?"
I actually believe the info you have provided. I recently used 100% fluro as a leader material, and on 2 occasions my leaders broke off for no reason. However when using Yozuri hybrid as leader material, I have yet have a leader break off for no apparent reason. I used the alberto knot for both lines, tied with the same amount of wraps, lubed well with spit, used on the same rod and no, none of the eyes have knicks. Needless to say I will not be using fluro for leaders anymore. Yozuri has proved a winner yet again for me.

What Do You Do When The Frog Bite Stops?
I hear you about the spring. But this is summer, its different. I fish amelia which is tropical park's sister park and the frog bite is off there too. But then again amelia isn't known for its frog bite either. Once the sun is up and high at the park put the frog away. Water temps are in the 90's unless like I said earlier, you are going out at night or right at sunrise, fishing is going to be tough.

Need A New Frogging Reel.
I don't see how you consider a speed spool heavy when it only weighs 7.6oz. Then you will consider the MG as heavy since they basically weigh the same. The LFS is coming in at 7oz. If you need lighter that the TTpro comes in at 6.7oz but that is going to run you $150 at least.

What Do You Do When The Frog Bite Stops?
Rchiuz, you and I are geographically close so "our" waters are the same. I can tell you the frog bite has been off. I really love to frog fish, many can attest, my suggestion is to try other techniques. Slow down your approach and play the numbers. This summer has turned them off in the canals. The only place I was able to put a hurting to them using the frog, was in the glades last month. But again, conditions have changed the water is up, so now I have to change locations and find productive water. I know its not the advice you want to hear, but unless you are willing to fish in the middle of the night, put the frog away for now.

Froggin' Setup
As far as rod reel, for sub $300. Rod, I would look at a 7ft or 7' 3" H of MH Carbonlite's from BPS. Not the micro's. Reel, instead of a Speed Spool, try one higher, the Tournament MG. 7.1:1. Great reel for frogging. My last and most important suggestion is try Ron over at Beat the Big Box Boys. Give him a call, he is a trusted sponsor. Talk to him and see how much he will price out a Dobyns Savvy 735, and the Lews MG. You might be surprised..... Seriously though try Ron, he has even offered an on-line discount for BR members.

Bob, best of luck, I haven't heard any Holiday reports lately. When that happens the fish have gone bye, bye. Check back in March or April. With all the recent rains I am sure the last remaining stragglers have gone into the marshes. But... hey maybe you can come across some, let us know. Also, when Holiday shuts down, many shift their attention to Lox. The fishing has picked up there some. Just check out Soflabassaddict post above. Good luck either way.

Bait Caster For 12 Year Old.
Try a Lews speedspool. If I am not mistaken the $20 rebate is still in effect. Its a good reel, it will probably palm well for his smaller hands. Good luck..

What Do You Do When The Frog Bite Stops?
Frog is not always on the menu. You can keep pounding the water and and increasing your frustration or...... change baits. I know its easier said than done. However, I am an avid frog user and I have learned, if I am fishing for a long while without a bite on a frog, its time to switch strategies.

- Hot Combo Out Of The Rack...finally
I actually fish my expensive gear, or better yet what I feel is my expensive gear, lol.... harder. That's what that gear is for I believe. If it was designed to just look pretty sitting on a rack to be admired, I wouldn't have bought it. I bought it because if its the best, then it should endure anything I throw at it.- Frogging Lilly Pads
Throw that frog in the most cluttered nastiest patch of cover you can find. Make sure you have at least 50lb braid and H rod. Work the frog in various sections of that cover, and when the blow up happens.... and it will..... keep your cool for a few seconds... make sure your frog has been inhaled and ..... swing for the fences and stick that pig!!- Need Some Bass Fishing Spots For Miami, Fl
Greynolds East is brackish. Unless you fish the canal to the West. I was referring to Greynolds West or the main park. There is freshwater on the golf course side. Again, its been years that i have gone there. There are so many areas and places to fish you have to pick a section and work the area until you find productive areas. Miami-Dade County is a really big place with tons of spots.... lol.- Need Some Bass Fishing Spots For Miami, Fl
Welcome to BR. I didn't see your intro in the intro section of the forums. Updating your profile a bit may also help a bit as well. As far as spots, I will give you areas to focus on. Since you live in NMB, Snakecreek canal is the first area that comes to mind. I would recommend Greynolds Park but I think they don't allow fishing in there if I am not mistaken. But, last time i was there was more than 15 yrs ago. My last suggestion would be Google Earth. There are alot of hidden gems as far as spots with Google Earth. Good Luck.- Need A New Frogging Reel.
Out of the 3, I would choose the Lews MG tournament, great reel for this application. Just make sure its a 7.1:1.- St Croix Premier
Premier are very good rods. They are sturdy and have a bit of weight to them but, they will get the job done. My personal preference are 7ft rods but that's me. Are there better rods out there? Yes. Will the premier serve you well? Yes. - Hot Combo Out Of The Rack...finally
