  1. Here is my question? Since Tuff-line and PowerPro are both Spectra Lines by Honeywell, than what is the difference? For example Tuff line has the tournament 8 and Power power pro has the Super 8 slick. It like a GM car example? Buick, Cadillac, GMC?
  2. ^^^ What Snook said ^^^
  3. Like others have mentioned, it can be done. Many fish frogs with it with a spinner. But is it for me? No. A b/c imho is better tool for frogging applications.
  4. I am glad you were able to work out the kinks and figure out your reel. Some would have scratched their heads and say something was wrong with the reel after a few casts. They have an expectation that the reel or any reel for that will be perfect as soon you spool it and cast it for the first time. Continue enjoying your reel...
  5. Your cue to switch baits was correct. Sometimes bass go crazy for spinnerbaits and sometimes bass just watch them pass by. It's not that you don't know how to use them, its that they were not on the menu to begin with.
  6. Today the weather has been nasty. Wave after wave of t-storms. At this rate the water level in the glades is going to be topping off just like you have seen so far.
  7. I tell you what... when you are exposed to mother nature like that it can be scary and dangerous ....but that shot you took looked awesome!!
  8. Based on some of the posts I am in the minority. I fish with Columbia PFG long sleeves and I enjoy them. They keep me cool and shield me from the sun. Works for me.
  9. If your starting out with braid for the first time. 40lb, is the ideal weight. It does not dig as easily as the lighter weights. You can also get away with more applications with 40 as well. Just my .02 This is assuming you are using a b/c. If your using a spinner. #15-20 would be good.
  10. Congrats to Nev!! You guys put up some nice numbers in June. I am curious what your July numbers yield. Fishing has gotten pretty tough down here lately with the summer heat. Best of luck to all of you in July.
  11. Can't speak for Hobie, or Smith, but I can tell you that Coasta's are pretty darn good. Buying the right frame and lense is critical. The way these glasses encapsulate your eyes and with the lense clarity is unbelievable. Another feature I really like and have taken advantage of twice is their warranty program. I wear my glasses 365 days a year. When ever a problem has come up, I mail it to Costa's and I get back a beautiful repaired set of glasses back. They mean it when they say lifetime warranty.
  12. Just like someone mentioned polarized glasses are important for several reasons. Eye protection, from the sun's rays and projectiles. Also, they help you see through the water significantly better than regular sunglasses or without. A bass can be feet away from you and, you will never see it.
  13. Raul... thanks so much for posting that vid. It was very informative, and it contained several nuggets of information that are key clues to our sport.
  14. Have a Happy Fourth to the FL crew!! Be safe and have fun!!
  15. Beautiful fish.... you didn't know bass can read? .... they love hanging out where people are not allowed to fish... lol... I hate it when that happens. You think you found a honey hole and you are not allowed to fish there....
  16. I don't think it makes a difference either. Besides, the painted weights I have used, including some Tungsten weights chip and expose their metallic color anyways.
  17. Few questions. Out of the 2 outfits which one are you most proficient on? Your budget? What do you mostly throw? Answer that and your answers will be more specific.
  18. Here are my personal ranges for me... 2-3lbs nice 3-4lb Nice chunks 4-5lb Nice piggies 5lb-6lbs Nice pigs 6-7lbs Pigs 7-8lbs Holy Moly!! Hawg Category 8+ I have seen and touched only once, and it wasn't my catch.

You are correct sir... i mainly fish with the 2 bigger sizes. They are great frogs that can handle a beating... Also... Dick's are selling LT frogs for $7.99 that's $3 cheaper than BPS !!
  20. This video was posted from one of our very own BR members last year I think. I think it was Russ048. I could be mistaken.

What no love for Live target frogs?? LOL... those are my favorite.. BTW... just in case anybody wanted to know. Dick's is/was having a sick sale in my neck of the woods on Booyah frogs. I picked one up for $2.99!! Crazy!!
  22. I will say yes. The majority of my fishing is bank fishing. I would say its 75% bank vs 25% boat. When I bank fish I take only 1 outfit which consists of a 7 ft M/H Avid with a Lews Tournament MG. I have learned to fish multiple applications with this one set up. I use braid and utilize leaders when the situation asks for it. On the boat, its a whole different story... LOL
  23. Do you really need a B/C to cast the baits you mentioned..... No. But if you learned to use a B/C just for the sake of increasing your skill set, you will never throw the baits you mentioned with a spinner again...
  24. Here is a quick story that might boost your confidence. It ended up with a lost fish but, you can learn from it. I went this morning to a park i frequent that has several lakes/ you guys will call them ponds. I went to a part of the lake that has a bridge where everyone either stops to look or fish from alot!! This time there was no one there so I walked down below the bridge of sorts and cast my bait parallel to a grass line. Three turns of the handle and a 6.5+lb bass came from under the grass and took my bait. As I was fighting the fish and it was less than 10 ft from me, when the fish decided to jump and do a massive head shake. Unfortunately, my bait became unbuttoned and the fish got away. Was I upset.. Heck yeah!! Big fish like that don't hit often especially in that area of the park. The point is however, although the area gets pounded on a daily basis, I presented my bait in a way that the bass could not resist. Too bad I missed her, but you got to keep casting and trying different things to convince the fish to take your offering.
  25. Watch the Survivor Man Bigfoot episodes. They go into a nice explanation of what that means. They explained those are boundry markers. If you can get video or pics that would be awesome. I know its easier said than done since you actually live in the woods and I live in a suburb.
