Dobyns 703 Or 704
I just picked up a 703, but its a savvy. The rod is perfect for the applications it was designed for. If you throw baits on the heavier range of the rods limits then I would say go for a 704.

Frog Fishing Question
I don't go crazy on what color of frogs to throw and at what time of day to throw it anymore. I have narrowed down my field of frogs with 2 colors. One has a black bottom and the other as a white. Out of those 2 colors which ever the fish are zeroing in on the most is the frog color I will stick with.

Banking Fishing Tips?
I have been bank fishing for years, and here are some tips that have helped me alot. Carry light. What I mean by that is carry a small bag with essentials for the waters you fish. For example on my waste pack I carry: 2 frogs, spinnerbaits, and an assortment of soft plastics consisting of trick worms, centipedes, flukes, stickbaits, just to name a few. As far as hooks I will carry one, 6 pack of 3/0 and 2/0's EWG hooks and a couple of weighted swim bait hooks. I carry my lead in a small vitamin container and spool of yozuri 12lb line for leaders. The Columbia waste pack I carry has pouches to hold water bottles so that is a must. Wear cargo shorts or pants so that you can carry your scale and/or misc things. A good pair of sneakers, dark clothes, polarized sun glasses and a hat and off you go. One of the important tips that I learned early on is to carry one outfit that accomodates the techniques you may be using. That can be tricky. But, yes its possible. I will not carry 2 outfits. I cover alot of ground and walking around with 2 outfits can be more of a liability to me. Other's carry more than 1 one rod and that's great if it works for them. Remember your cell phone for pics and communication. Carry your ID and fishing license with you but do not carry too much $$. If you bank fish long enough and by yourself like I do, you will come across some interesting characters. Hope this info helps. Have fun and good luck. The info I provided may seem like alot, but if you look at my avatar pic, I am carrying in that pic everything I just mentioned minus the hat.

Fixing Costas
If you looked at the website, you would have seen it's $11.95. The times I have had to send my glasses in, all I did was send the $11.95, and the postal fee. Couple of weeks later I have good as new glasses with $0 additional costs for repair. I have been very happy with Costa's service so far.

St. Croix Avid
Like several people have mentioned before. Have you handled this rod already? I have owned this rod for several years and its a great tough rod. The thickness of the cork has never effected me. But, if you feel you have to alter the cork to suit you, I will also agree with other members who have mentioned it, go find another rod.

Help Suggest A Frog Rod
Your thoughts are spot on. You do not have to search any longer. Like my friend MCS mentioned, I fish with a Champion 736 with Curado I. It's the outfit I use when I frog fish in the glades. Each of your line items of your criteria gets a "check mark" on the list you mentioned above. It's a great rod, you will not be disappointed. To help you even further, call Ron over at Valley Sports, first, before you search anywhere else. Good luck.

Is This Right Now And Good
That's a nice fixed up reel. You are going to make a young angler very happy with that reel right there. Since it was your frogging reel, what did you upgrade to Ima Bass Ninja?

Is This Right Now And Good
Yes, i know i can google it. I just did a search for you on BPS, and they are on sale now for $89.99. What I meant to say was where did you come across the used one for $60? Was it from BR fleamarket? Just be careful buying used stuff over the internet.

South Florida Bite Was On Today!
Years ago when I was kid and I fished off the dock in Holiday Park. Someone had a stringer of fish over the side. When they pulled up the stringer a snake was attached to one of the fish. It was crazy to see as a kid. Now grown up, many critters are always on the look out to catch fish.

Is This Better
If you can hold out a little more for a bit more $$, I was looking at the website you provided, and they also have the Tournament MG 7:1, which is a great reel for $114. This reel would be perfect for you. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Lews-TS1SHMG-Tournament-MG-Speed-Spool-Baitcast-7.1-1-Deep-Spool/24258720

80Lb Power Pro Slick 8 Line
I am basing my answer on the fact that you are still using the line for hollowbody frog fishing. 50lb would be more than fine. I do not see the need to go over that. You can also getaway with dropping down a little with 40lb if all you are dealing with is algae. The cover you are fishing in is what determines, at least for me, what rod type and line (lbs) I should be throwing when I frog fish.

Did I Over-Spool My Reel?
That's good right there. You fill in more and that is considered over filling.
-
80Lb Power Pro Slick 8 Line
80lb is overkill. Especially if you plan to fish it in the pond that you showed everyone a couple of days ago. For frogging, 50lbs max, and thats with heavy cover. Light to medium cover 40lbs.

Frog'n - Cloudy Calm Days Not Always The Best Time
Frog just wasn't on the menu, that's all. Tomorrow could be a whole different story. That's bass fishing.
