  1. how do you redeem this?
  2. a bit of all purpose, mostly small pond and creeks - mostly finesse like 1/8-3/8 ish
  3. ok thanks. was considering all of those. Now to just decide if I get the medium 6'8" victory or the 6'10" medium light lol
  4. What do you think about the Fury’s vs the victory’s?
  5. Dobyns 683, I wouldn’t normally choose it but only brought the one rod and needed it to catch a bedding fish. Only brought it up to make the point that the SLX did well
  6. My only bait caster exposure is to my Fuego CT and now most recently a newly picked up SLX. The SLX feels like a significant jump in quality and casting ability. I was surprised to be able to easily cast a 1/16 jig this past weekend. It feels like a solid reel, albeit like I said, don’t have a lot of exposure to other reels.
  7. FYI, this stacks with their 10% off for signing up for email alerts. Just got a champion xp for $170
  8. Which fury and sierra models? I’ve been considering a fury for general worm and jig use and a Sierra for top water and jerkbaits , based on what I’ve read about their actions
  9. You have to add the item to your cart and the discount will be applied
  10. Many Shimano rods are 20-25% off on Dicks/ field and stream website
  11. Curado rod that is. I haven’t seen much about it anywhere here and was hoping to see what y’all thought. Many folks on here recommend Dobyns (especially with the warranty) but I’ve heard that you sacrifice a bit on sensitivity when compared against other rods in the price point. For some backstory, I am looking for two casting rods: one that would be an all around MH rod, mostly for jigs and Texas rigs, and the second for top water/jerkbaits. The Brands I’ve narrowed it down to are the Dobyns and Shimano....any thoughts or recommendations would be awesome... thanks so much
  12. I just bought these two exact rods and are looking for reels. Any recommendations ? Trying to keep it versatile like you mentioned.
  13. Just curious, what kind of rod and reel specifically?
  14. Neither, I use well nuts, available on austinkayak.com As was said before, it depends what you are using the kayak for. I see the 12 being better if you wanna stand a lot though. And I never see myself needing to have space to store rods on a kayak, but again it depends on yourself. I just use a crate with rod holders built into that. I have an Ascend d10t and the width makes it really stable I use it fishing inshore. It also has an open deck like the fs12, and I generally can keep a lot of stuff on it such as a rod, cooler, and other sorts of things, and keep the crate behind me.
