I think Cabelas either has them on sale right now or they will be on sale for $39, according to the ad I got in the mail yesterday.

Rod To Pair With President For Shakey Head, Ned Rig, All Purpose
6'10" to 7'2" is what I like for the Ned. My designated rod for it is a Shimano Crucial 7'1" ML/F. I have a 6'10" M/XF St Croix Rage and Legend Tournament, both are techincally shakyhead rods but I'll throw the Ned rig on them as well. While they will work, you want a lighter rod for the ned than for the shakyhead. If you can save up I would buy one rod for shakyheads and another rod for the ned and drop shot. The 7'1" M/F shimano sellus would be a decent ned/drop shot rod, and the 7'2" MH/F sellus would make a good shakyhead rod. The rods you mentioned would probably be fine for ned but maybe a little light for shakyheads.

Opinions On Good Rod Around $100?
Or you can get the Rage for the same price. St Croix has them for $99 in their bargain room. Really good rod IMO.

Headed To Loz
Not sure if this will really happen but it would make for some pleasant fishing this weekend. Who knows how good the fishing would be with the high water, but you won't have to deal with boat wake.a http://fox4kc.com/2015/07/02/missouri-state-highway-patrol-discusses-limiting-lake-of-the-ozarks-to-no-wake-zone/

Jig/plastic Rod
That is my finesse jig/soft plastics rod. You would not be disappointed. As far as the handle, I find it to be very comfortable. FYI.....someone else posted on this but they have these for $99 in the bargain room on St Croix's website.

Favorite Rain Gear
Academy Sports has a really good suit that will only run you around $140 for the jacket and bibs. I love mine! And I especially love that they were roughly 1/2 the price of the BPS versions. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress-153-men-39-s-fishing-parka/pid-134525?N=4294940663+119191402 http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress-men-s-fishing-bib/pid-134531?N=4294940663+119191402

Or go deep and get some of the big bluegills that everybody talks about, those are right up there with crappie and walleye as far as good eating fish.

Ideal Midwest Finesse / Ned Rig Rod Under $150 ?
Check out the Shimano Crucial 7' M/F the St Croix Rage 6'10" ML/XF. I use a black Shimano Crucial 7'1" ML/F for the ned rig, very well suited for the finesse baits. The newer crucial has about the same action to me.

Table Rock Lake Guide
Pete Wenners is a good one also. He took us out the first morning of our vacation a few years ago and taught us a lot about the lake, helped us catch a lot of fish throughout the week.

Shimano Crucial Rods
I wish I had held out and bought one of the green rods when they came out, but I jumped on the 7'1'' ML black model when they had them on clearance at Cabelas.

Shimano Crucial Rods
Have you handled the 7' M spinning rod? I've played with one a little at our local BPS and it is very close to the same power and action as my previous generation 7'1" ML crucial.

Steel Shot With Full Choke Waterfowl Hunting
What they said...... I shoot a stoeger auto and pump, and tend to use Kent most of the time. With that brand I've found that I get the best pattern with steel using my Carlson Extended Skeet Choke.

A Good Beer
As someone who LOVED the dry stout before they stopped brewing it, I really like the Dark Truth Stout that they just came out with. Some of the favorites would be 80 Acre and Unfiltered Wheat, Irish Ale, Bob's 47 and Tank 7. The Bourbon Barrel Quad is really good too, just dangerous since it's more alcoholic.

A Good Beer
It's basically our hometown beer so you'd find a lot of people around here know a lot about their beers.

Me too. My bass raider got most of it's time on the water at SMP. Used to be a very good bass lake, shame that it went downhill.

Kc Spring Get Together
Forgot about one picture. Saturday after we got towed back to the ramp by Ranger Danger and Sizzle we ate lunch off HWY 62 and then went back to prairie creek to try to find some stripers. Clayton caught a decent LM on his big Deps swimbait (not sure which one it is) that hit right at the surface and was a lot of fun to watch.

Kc Spring Get Together
It was tough fishing, but we still caught a good number of fish. Long weekend and I'm still trying to recover after getting about 7 hours of sleep all weekend. First fish of the weekend, on a spook. Struggled the rest of the first day. Neither Chris or I ever caught a striper, and had a hard time finding anything decent sized. Chris caught this one at the end of the first day on Ned. He was trying to hook one of the hundreds of gar that were surfacing and accidentally got this Saturday we moved down to the dam. We got about a mile from the ramp and Chris' motor started acting funny. Not sure what was wrong yet but the short version of the story is that we were without an outboard and had to be towed back to the ramp at about noon. In between that we finally found some fish despite about 15-16 feet of visiblity. Some of the clearest water I've ever seen except for Lake Tahoe. First fish on a tube 2 lb 8 oz Then we found a bank with a flat and some really nice rocks on it and proceeded to pick up several decent smallie Biggest smallie of the trip for me on Ned 3lb 1 oz Sunday we took off from the cabin and drove to the strip pits. I only caught one but it was a decent 2 1/2 pounder on a pink bladed jig Clayton had big fish on the day. He may correct me but I think it went right around 4 pounds.
