Hello i have been registered for a couple years now and sorry to say i forgot about this great place for a wealth of knoldge. I just wanted to say hello and i love this board. I have been fishing for several years mainly crappie and catfish and in the last two years have started targeting bass as my primary target. Unless the crappie are spawning got to fill the frezer with some pan fish. Im a union guy by trade work for a fortune 500 company that is ok. Love to play tournemant sofball go to concerts and play golf. But am making fishing by number 1 hobby and am planning on starting to fish local tourneys or joing a bass club next year. Ty if you have any suggestions on a croix rod thats fine. I just didnt want people voting on the poll if they are brand loyal. But i am alwasy open to suggestions. Just fliping pitching punching rod suggestions though.. Thanks for your time..

Looking for honnest opionions please keep it non biased. I will start off by saying i have 4 St Croix LTB rods and i love them. I am not against try a new rod that fits my needs. I am more worried about liking the other brand more then the croix and then having to spend more money on new rods. But i will make the change if this happens. Rite now i am more interested in the best choice for flipping pitching punching rod. Again please be honnest and only vote if you have used both and are not a brand loyale subjective person. If you use one or the other feel free to comment on what brand and what rod and why you like it.. Just want to keep the poll to people who have used both. Hence why i didnt even vote on my own poll. Thanks for your time.. I dont have a dobyns dealer near me so i cant go get my hands one. And to be quit honest i probably wouldnt be able to tell the diffreence with out fishing with both rigs. What do you guys think about my mix of reals as far as gear ratio am I on track what should I my nest purchase be? 5.1 6.1 7.1 or another 9.1? f anyone else has recommendations by all means speak up.. I'm always open to suggestions don't take offense to responses I may get. I know I'm green around the edges and eager to learn. Some day will have enough knowledge to contribute advice to the community as well. Thanks Jeramy

Sorry i guys i made a typo the 7.1 rods are both MH Fast action. If it was you what line and how would you rig them?

I have a 5 rods gonna buy a 6th. Im a St Croix & Abu Garcia guy. But not oppesed to shimano spinning reels actual like shimano spinng reels the best. Have them for my crappie rigs as well This is what i have. baitcaster 7.4 H F Legand with a STX 6.1 "frog pole" 50lb braid 6.8 M F Legand with a Premier 6.1 "Jerk bait" 12lb mono 7.1 MH F Legand with a Premier 7.1 "Top water or cranker" 14 lb flouro 7.1 MH F Legand with a Rocket 9.0 this set up is BN and not sure i should keep the 7.1 or get a different length "Havent set this one up yet" spinning gear 6.9 ML XF Avid with a Shimano Ci4FA been using this for texas rigged worm 10lb mono I am not sure if i have the right reels on the rite rods or if it even really matters. But i am interested in suggestions for whats the best brand line to put on them and LB. And what lures should i rig them with obejectivly i want a (cranker rod) (jig rod) (top water rod/ heavy cranker) (jerk bait rod) and (Frog pole) Then my finesse rod will be my spinning rod.. I am open to all suggestions max cost for new combo $600.00. Thanks Jeramy
