  1. I bought a couple of these. They are very good at catching fishermen at the store. Not so good at catching fish at the lake....in my experience.
  2. Get yourself a "Boat Trader" magazine and see what other boats are going for just to get an idea on price. Also, you may want to get an assessment from a dealer that sells bass boats.
  3. 20,000 posts? I guess that would make you a "Blabber Fingers" ;D Burts Bees makes a hand salve that really helps with calloused finger tips, especially in the winter months when splitting and callouses are a problem......hehehe Just being funny...that Burts Bees is good stuff though. Heals the fingers after many winter fishing trips. Thanks for all your posts and tips. Best regards and I hope you post thousands times more. 8-) Tom
  4. Hey NCthompson, What all the others guys said is true. Be they bream, bluegill or panfish (the name don't matter, they all taste good and are really fun to catch) Try some Mepps or Aglia spinners in the 1/16th oz. weight. White and silver has always been a good one for me. Use 4# test line and have a ball. Lighter line gives better action to the lures. Have fun. Tom
  5. Howdy MStarr, I use one of these (click the link) http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_74457____SearchResults It's comfortable even on hot days. I use this one in the winter. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_11401____SearchResults It takes a little getting used because it's bulky but, it will keep you warm. Good luck, Tom
  6. I'll jump in here with my opinion. BPS ROCKS! 8-) Nuff Said.
  7. Thanks for the pictures and Thanks for your service to our country.
  8. Very cool video Riverfisher.
  9. Thanks GMAN. The link is now in my "favorites" for quick access. Tom
  10. I have to ask....Did it go faster before? I mean, has it all of a sudden dropped to 50mph from a higher speed in it's earlier days? A higher number pitch may help but it will affect your low end torque and your speed coming out of the hole.
  11. Check this out. There are in-line fuses for this unit. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_74190_200003004_200000000_200003000_200-3-4
  12. Happy New Year Everybody! May you all have the best times in everything you do this coming year. Tom

If you plan to eat the rabbits I would recommend Remington Thunderbolt .22LR ammo. They are very consistent in regards to accuracy and they won't break your bank. I have shot them in a multitude of 22 guns and never have had any problems. CCI Stingers will wreck a small game animal. Have fun, Tom
  14. I find it fascinating how people react when a citizen of this country who is not military or law enforcement possesses a firearm in public, regardless of the venue or the surroundings. Me personally? I would not expose my weapon at an event such as a soccer game unless it was absolutely warranted. Perhaps this woman felt it was necessary in her situation. I don't now about her situation. The Second Amendment wasn't written for our debate. It is what it is. Some of our states and municipalities choose to ignore that with their constituent's permission, or their view of what their constituents want. That seems to be the way it is across the United States. She was stupid but within her rights in my opinion.
  15. You did a nice thing Bassectomy. Very Cool!
  16. Bream - Bluegill, Panfish, Sunfish, etc. They are little but mighty for their size. I've been thinking about winter Striper fishing here at night but I can't find anybody who'll bear the cold night temps with me on Lake Norman. I really don't like going out in my boat at night alone. I caught a couple this year during the day and Man, what a fight.
  17. Brass Bat answered your question. But seriously, Go with a 5' UL spinning rod and a variety of Rooster Tails and Mepps spinners in various colors. Have fun!
  18. I have caught (snagged) a variety of strange stuff over the years. I caught a tire, a pair of shorts, a few junky fishing poles, lots of sticks...but the wierdest thing I ever caught was a small rock. This little rock had a little hole in it and my crank bait's hook found it. The rock now rests in my wife's little aquarium. The funny part about catching this rock was that my friend caught 9 bass that day and all I got was a rock....I felt like Charlie Brown at Halloween. ;D
  19. Hey fish4life6, Try Lake Norman at Blythe Landing, Ramsey Creek and Beatty's Ford. They are public boat ramps with docks. On Lake Wylie off of rte 237 there is a public fishing area. Take 85 to Belmont exit, make a left and follow 237 to South Point Road and make a left It will be about 3 miles on your right. If you cross the bridge over the canal you've gone too far. Look for the black and white "Wildlife Area" signs. Try these links: Lake Wylie http://www.duke-energy.com/lakes/facts-and-maps/lake-wylie.asp Lake Norman http://www.duke-energy.com/lakes/facts-and-maps/lake-norman.asp Here's a link for Mountain Island lake but I haven't fished there often and had no luck when I did. http://www.duke-energy.com/lakes/facts-and-maps/mountain-island.asp Good luck and I hope this helps. Tom
  20. Yimm, Welcome to your new addiction. What you encountering is what keeps us all going back for more. Once you think you've got bass figured out something changes and you feel like you're starting all over again to try and figure out how to catch them. Sam is right. Read up on them but also talk to people you encounter fishing in your area. You might learn a few neat tricks and you just might meet a new fishing buddy that knows of other areas you can fish. Good luck and take care. Tom
  21. I would add a corkscrew. Ya never know when a Hottie needs her Whine opened. ;D
  22. In addition to what Ann-Marie and HPBB said I would ensure the water level was okay. Maintenance free batteries are not maintenance free. Fill them with distilled water and check them every once in a while depending upon use. Pop the caps and fill them to the line of the battery fill hole. This will extend the life of your batteries.
  23. Looks Good...Now go use it to catch Bass when everyone else is holing up for winter! 8-)
  24. Dmac, Click this link and fill out some details. This should help you. http://appcenter.mercurymarine.com/propSelector/home.do Good luck, Tom
  25. Well, if ya plan on using her over the winter then just lower your motor when ya take her out of the water and drain the water out of motor. Even if you're not storing her put some Sta-Bil gas treatment in the fuel tank at least two or three times during the cold months to keep moisture out of the tank and to keep your gas good if you go awhile without firing up your boat. Cold mornings and somewhat warm afternoons could put some moisture in your tank.
