  1. Go see a doctor. Waiting can only make things worse. You may find that it's nothing major or that it needs minor surgery that won't put you down for long. The longer you wait the worse it can be. Tom
  2. The rod is a 7' M/H Extreme rod. It's a bit stiff at the base but the tip seems a bit sensitive. Not as sensitive as the 6.5' rod but I am happy with it.

I would like to add that I haven't paid a dime for the use of this wonderful site so I am not complaining. I would be willing to help with finances if asked to do so.

It is slow at times. Sometimes it's so slow I bail out and move on. Other times it operates at a moderate speed. It's rarely fast. I chalk it up to the number of users. I do wonder why it's slow at 04:00 hours though. Maybe it's due to server maintenance?
  6. I have two of the Zebco Omegas in the larger size and I like them very much. I use them quite often and I use Trilene mono with very little line twist problems. Tom
  7. I went to BPS yesterday and picked up a new BPS Extreme baitcast reel and rod for $69.00. I guess they normally sell for $149. I have only owned two baitcast reels. One is an antique Pfleuger the other was a Shimano Curado which I sold because I wasn't familiar with it and spent alot of time undoing backlash. Anyway, the salesman explained how to set it up and adjust it and I took it out today and had a blast fishing with it. Not one backlash! I like it so much I may just pick myself up another one tomorrow. Very nice rig for the money.
  8. Glenn, Thanks for the tip on getting the bunks wet before loading. I learn something new everyday. Regards, Tom
  9. I love Metal: Metallica C O C Megadeth Saliva Pride and Glory Pantera Warrant and the list goes on.........
  10. You have encountered the very same thing that happened to me recently with my new bass boat. My cure was not to put the trailer into the water so far and to drive the boat up onto the trailer. If the boat is floating and you move forward to hook it up and crank it on the trailer the weight of your body pushes the nose down under the roller.
  11. So I am not alone in my insanity? ;D
  12. Thanks Gents, The reason you haven't seen me post any WOT posts is that the water has been choppy and it's been cold. I can tell you that once this boat gets on it's "ride" it is way too fast for it's size and way too slow getting on plane. It's hard to read a tach and speedo at this boat's current max speed when your eyes are watering and you're shivering to beat the band. I was hoping that tomorrow would be a good day to do a test but 30 to 40 mile winds aren't condusive to good good boat testing on the lake.
  13. Thanks Cart7, I know that speedos on boats are inaccurate but I did not feel comfortable with the speed the boat was going and the handling of it. The lake was choppy and I bailed out before I reached max speed. My dealer has offered to have me try a variety of props. He recommends the 23 but I can try a variety. I'm trying to work this out with as little trial and error as possible. I'll try the 23 and see how it goes. If I'm not happy he will let me try others. Thanks, Tom
  14. Dizzy and Josh, Please don't think me rude. I can't tell you what WOT on this boat is. The two times I went for it I backed off before it reached top speed. I have been in fast boats but a 17' bass boat headin' for 60 plus in chop? I don't need to know what WOT is. I do know I need a better prop at low end and forget the WOW stuff. Thanks guys, Tom
  15. I know that I want one. One can dream......In the mean time I can run my Miata and my boats.
  16. Thanks Madhouse. I will check it out.
  17. Thank you all for your answers. I really appreciate them. My boat dealer recommended a 23 but I just wanted to more or less confirm this.
  18. Thank you very much JDW and Burley.
  19. Very Cool! I think it's great that you bought a boat with the side mounted seats in the stern. That will be a whole lot less stress on your back with an outboard motor. After a day in my Sea Nymph my back would give me fits. I would also look into putting foam between the ribs and overlaying that with thin marine plywood so that you don't trip when moving from stern to bow. Good luck with your new boat and have fun.
  20. Okay Pards, Many have put their location in their signature lines or below their avatars but many have not. Also, many people do not put their locations in personal profile. To those that have Thank You Very Much. It is not a requirement from this wonderful website but it is annoying when someone asks "What lure do I use to catch bass in the early morning?" and leaves it at that. If no one knows your location we have no idea what will work for you. Early morning in the Carolinas one might say "White Buzz Bait with a silver blade" In Minnesota one might say "Use a yellow Mepps No. 2 with a silver blade" In Texas one might say "Texas rig a june bug or watermelon colored U-tailed worm" While someone in Pennsylvania might say "Use a Rapala silver black floater and fish it slow" LOCATION means everything in many ways in regards to our sport. If people do not know your location or area they may give you advice that works BIG TIME in their area but the fish in your area just act Ho-Hum when you spend money on lures only to find out the lures don't work in your area. You walk or boat away dejected and the only reason that happened was you took advice from Joe in California when the advice fron Jack in Florida would have been more accurate because Jack lives 100 miles from you and Joe is 2500 miles away and his Bass like lure "A" but Jack's like lure "B". Get my drift? You don't have to post your exact location but even posting the lake or river or location that you fish would help with others that you request help from on this forum. Thanks and if I am beatin' the Annoying Drum to the Mods, Please let me know. Tom
  21. You could also try floating worms but you have to look real hard to find 'em on the store racks.

  23. Welcome! 8-)
  24. I bought a 2003 Nitro 750 with less than 50 hours on her. She's a fine boat. She has a 125 HP Mercury Tracker motor. The previous owner apparently hit something and slightly damaged the skeg and it must have caused damage to the prop as he replaced it. He put a 26 pitch prop on it. It's a Mercury Trophy stainless steel prop. This thing is a dog coming out of the whole but scary fast when it comes on plane....I mean SCARY FAST. I have operated fast boats but this thing "gets it on" and in my opinion is unsafe for it's length and beam at full throttle. I've done some research and it seems that a 23 pitch prop might be better suited for the boat as an all around pitch for the propeller. I am more interested in getting on plane quick with a decent top end speed. I am not going to be racing from fishing hole to fishing hole in competition. What would you recommend for a good propeller pitch and perhaps how many blades. My current prop has 4.
