Just a thought...Why not give the unwanted books to some kids or even donate them to a library if they aren't worth anything to you. We might know all the basics but many do not. Someone might find that book very useful.- Don't buy this album!

It might be that you have a nick in the cabling or a shield wire that's bad. Check your connections to the transducer and your fishfinder. Maybe you have a bad connection as well.- just beginnig
If you can see them, they can see you. If you're fishing from shore step back a bit, Get into the shadows, See what happens.- just beginnig
Welcome Bubbler Pehaps a little more info on where you fish might be helpful. SoCal is a big place. Maybe some of the locals might have some info you could use. Tom- Location, Location, Location
Bump A lot of folks have put their locations in their Signatures and I, for one, appreciate that. It is very cool to know where someone is writing from. It shows that the site is definitely worldwide and it also lets people in the same locale know what is going on in their area in regards to how the fish are biting...or it gives those of us outside someone's area some ideas as to what to try out.- A Christmas Hoo-Ah for the boys abroad
God Bless 'Em All. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines...not necessarily in that order.- Christmas at UPS
You're a good man Russ.- Hand guns
Aaron, Your post is so "open ended" it's not even funny. No offense Pard but you need to give a little more info on what you want your handgun for. It's like asking "What is the best reel, or what is the best pole, or what is the best lure or bait" What do you really want in your handgun? Do you want to target shoot? Do you want a purely defensive handgun? What kind of sights do you want? Iron, adjustable, laser, tritium night sights, scope? Do you want a revolver or semi- auto? Do you have legal issues in your area? Like in CA. Are you looking at magazine limit regulations? What is your budget? I can recommend a boat load of pistols that would exceed $1300 each. I can also recommend pistols that are a lot lot less "dollar wise". What is it you want your pistol for? Also, Since you are asking about buying a new pistol, what are your plans for educating yourself in regards to use of the gun and gun safety? Gun safety is paramount. Not just for you but everyone living in your household that may encounter your gun. Send me a PM if you're not comfortable answering my questions here. I'm not trying to come down on you but I have a lot of experience with firearms and firearms training. I would be very happy to help you out and I won't steer you in the direction of "the latest and greatest" in regards to what the gun mags are promoting. Best reagrds, Tom- Christmas at UPS
I love UPS and Fed - Ex. UPS for very good service and Fed - Ex because they handle firearms in a very professional fashion when shipping. Both companies have their good attributes. I will never forget when I bought my daughter a computer system from Gateway in 2000 and the UPS truck showed up to deliver it. My daughter was home and I told the driver and her assistant that my daughter was home and we needed to sneak the boxes into the garage so my daughter wouldn't see us. Those folks went "to work" unloading those packages in a much hurried fashion just so it appeared like nothing was going on at all. They off loaded the packages and then made it seem as if they had hit the wrong address when my my daughter stepped outside to see what was going on. UPS people are a Class Act in my book! 8-)- spray on linings on boat bottom?
Spray on liners like Line-X or Rhino Liner will add a lot of weight to your boat.- Anchors
Since your boat is small I would go with any mushroom, river or even the concrete anchors suggested. Fluke anchors can be a real pain if your boat doesn't have the power to unseat them. I would also stay away from Danforth or the "grappling" hook type anchors. I use a small mushroom for my little boat and for my big boat I use a Fluke forward and a mushroom aft to hold it where I want it.- Noodling

You misspelled Y'all Merry Christmas to you. Merry Christmas to you.- Start of Bass fishing?
Fishbear, My sentiments exactly! Regardless of the weather I am hitting my lake every weekend. I may be in the South but it does get cold wet and windy in the winter but if there's a chance for a tight line and a fish on I am game.- Bioligist education
spnerbat101, Everyone is giving you good advice. I would also write a letter or an e-mail to your local Department of Fish and Game and see if there is someone there that can give you advice on how you can achieve your goals. I would also ask the guidance counseler at your school about how to go about studying and planning for your goals. Good luck to you young Man. I hope you acheive your dream.- Location, Location, Location
Laggyman, I admire your tenacity for driving 1.2 hours to fish for bass. When I lived in California it seemed like everywhere I wanted to go to do the things that I like to do took at least that long to get there. I'm glad your here with us, even though you're half a world away.- Avid, If Shakira knew ..........
That was funny ;D- Big Bass -VS- Most Bass Lure
After a little reflection, you could try a purple rubber worm Texas rigged...- Big Bass -VS- Most Bass Lure
What you are looking for all depends on where you fish. There is no best lure that does everything. If there were there would not be the variety of lures on the market that you see. And, there would only be one lure company with the only patented lure that works. What works for me where I fish may not work for you. A good example: People in certain areas will tell you that Chatterbaits are the best things since X-Box. BUT, where I fish they just don't work. The fish look at them and leave 'em alone. I have actually watched bass look at them and swim about as if they had just seen Santa Claus. There is a lot of experimentation involved. Sometimes it's frustrating and you put good money into lots of different lures only to find heartache. Try this, try fishing only a Carolina rig with rubber worms. Work the entire area, be it bank or from a boat. Use a multitude of colors. You will find that one or two colors will catch fish where others will not. It's all experimentation. Once you find the color that works for you in the area that you fish you will find that a week later it doesn't work. Yet you see evidence of fish in the area. You get frustrated but before giving up you tie on a shad rap (any color) and you cast it out and WHAM! Fish On and Tight Line! All is good in the world. Bass are wild creatures and in their world they thrive. What attracts them one day may not attract them the next. There is no perfect bait. Think about it this way, if there were a perfect bait the fun would wear off real quick and bass fishing would not be the sport that it is today. Now that I have worn my fingers out typing my opinion: Please tell me that you are new to fishing and that I just haven't wasted my time telling you something that you already knew......- Chatterbait, Does This new Innovation Work?
They have not worked for me at all. Gimmick bait, IMHO. - Did anyone else get this in the mail?
