Life jackets???
Chris, I was looking at those. They look like a great alternative. Have you ever tested yours to see if it does auto inflate? That would be my only concern with them. Thanks, Tom

Dumping Christmas Trees
I would let the trees dry out and drop off most of the needles before sinking them.

rapala
I'm with you Marty. I posted the correct pronounciation from the "ruh-PAH-luh" website. Saying "Rap-a-la" just doesn't work for me either.

im being recruited.
That's very cool! 8-) Congratulations. An ol' friend of mine played ice hockey and got into blading for exercise. He said the main difference was in the stopping differences between roller versus ice blades. Give it a shot. It can't hurt.

Bass Wisdom by Homer Circle
Perhaps you'd like to have the Ultimate Bass Resource Guide? I bought an E-Book here at Bass Resource and it's got a lot of very good info. I bought it one day when there was a banner up for it but I haven't seen another banner since but I would venture to guess that asking around might be a good thing if you want one. It is well worth the money. The lure information is great as well as the info on Jigs. Just my thoughts...

*Sigh*...Here we go...again...
Valascus, It'll be all right. Trust me. Someday, and I know that your saying "Someday, who the "blank" is the As---le? Someday, things will be fine. It's tough now but with your attitude and drive you'll find a way to move forward. Don't focus on what was...even though you'd like to focus a two-by-four on someone special where you used to work...Focus on now and what you can do for now. Take steps to move forward. I used to be a Research and Development Technician at Hughes Aircraft in the early '80's. Hughes was the place to work in California. It was "the ticket"...Then one day it wasn't. I left. Worked 1 1/2 years doing minimum wage jobs. Lost everything...Or so I thought. I still had my loving wife and my daughter. We didn't starve. We didn't thrive either. But, we had each other. That is the key. Never lose focus of that. Eventually I got a job in mass transit working on trains. Somewhere I never thought I would be. But, I got a job in L.A. working on trains. Life hasn't been easy overthe years but I now live in Concord, NC. I work on the rail system here in Charlotte. My wife and I have been married over 26 years. My daughter now lives with her husband in California and I have a 1 year old Grandson. Life is Good...and I have two really cool lakes to fish whenever I want! Sorry, got excited there for a moment. Pard, I feel for ya, but the world isn't over. Your profile says that you are 24. My "Big Downfall" happened when I was 26. I figure that you have two years up on me to be makin' this same speech to someone like you a ways down the road. Life isn't over Man, it's just getting interesting. Move forward and Rock On!

need a little help with the dog
Dude, Have you tried Dog Training forums? Here are some that I found doing a yahoo search for you: http://www.dogforums.com/ http://www.dogpages.org.uk/forums/index.php http://www.chazhound.com/forums/ http://www.dogdiscussion.com/index.php http://www.k9forums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=39 http://uplandbirddog.com/training/index.htm http://www.dogonpoint.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi http://p211.ezboard.com/bgundogandbirddogforums Cruise these and check out some answers. The last three are for hunting dogs. They are free. Don't be afraid to register and ask questions. In your last thread posting about your dog you were considering a shock collar. I am very happy that you didn't go that route but I am sorry to see that your dog is still a problem. Mine is too, by the way, Brittany's have a spirit that will drive you nuts! Good luck and don't kill the dog. Tom

What's your best guess ?
DO NOT STICK YOUR FACE OVER THE HOLE!!!! Haven't y'all seen Alien? ;D Seriously, those are the drain holes that they used to drain 10' of water out of the lake. Notice any white rubber plugs laying around? If not, they took 'em back to the warehouse for inventory control. Happens all the time. La da deet de da....Gotta go.................

trolling for Bass
One piece of advice, don't use a bait that swims deep enough to touch bottom or catch in debris. You could lose a pole like that. One of the funniest fishing episodes of my life was the look on my Dad's face when his favorite rig jumped right out of his pole holder while trolling in Beaver Lake in Arkansas when I was a kid. ;D He was not amused, I laughed so hard my stomach hurt.

best handling line for spinning gear
Avid, I load all my spinning gear with Trilene XL. It works great as long as you don't overload the spool. I have tried many other lines but I always end up back with the Trilene XL. It ain't glamorous - It just works. Tom

Creepy Outing On The Lake Today
I agree with Avid. I would like to add that if a compass is all that you have a decent map helps tremendously along with some reference points that you can visually locate as well as locate on the map. I have used this method and it works. Now, I go nowhere on the water or in the country without my GPS, with extra batteries, and I always have maps for backup.

Internet Explorer 7 - Download could be a mistake
Avid, If you installed it from an ISP like Yahoo or MSN they may have installed some of their links along with it. Apparently, those that install it directly from Microsoft have very little problems except for getting used to how it works. Some say it's better, some say it's not. I choose to not upload it again unless I have too. Progress doesn't necessarily mean Progress....

Pfleuger President Ultra-Light Reel
Thank you Gentlemen. I went ahead and bought the President to match up with a BPS ultra light rod that I had the Daiwa on. I got the 6725 series versus the 6720. The 20 seemed more nimble but Bass Pro was out so I went with the slightly larger size. I'll try it out this week on bream and small bass. 8-)

Weird catch...
Nice catch. I caught a trout on a black/silver Rapala floater once. I was on a lake in PA on the first day of trout season looking to catch some bass. I was getting frustrated with the number of people that had showed up and started reeling in rather than floating the lure and Pow. Nice 15" trout. Cool. By the way, I just bought a pair of those gloves at BPS.

underwater cameras
Nathan, Now that's funny! ;D So, what are your rates and do you require dry towels, room and board for your services? ;D Sorry for the hi-jack Lovecranking. I couldn't help myself.

Pfleuger President Ultra-Light Reel
Well, I jammed up my Diawa spinning reel for the last time yesterday. It wasn't making the grade anyway. I was thinking about a Pfleuger President UL reel. It feels real nice and the price is right. Anyone here try these reels out? They seem well worth the money. Tom
- Lure=Ler? or Luwer?

rapala
rap-a-la From the Rapala website FAQs: How do you pronounce Rapala? The assumption is Ra-pa-la. The correct pronunciation is Rap-a-la.

Internet Explorer 7 - Download could be a mistake
After doing a lttle research and from some posts here and on other boards, as well as some e-mails I think that the key is to download IE7 from Microsoft and not through Yahoo or any other ISP. So far everyone that says that they have gone directly through Microsoft reports no problems. But, I'll stay with what works for me for now. Thanks for your input and your tolerence. 8-)
