Rod Holder For Jon Boat
Craw, I am looking for something similar for my little boat. Here are links to what I have found: http://www.overtons.com/modperl/overtons/detail/pdetail2.cgi?r=detail_view&item_num=71434 http://www.iboats.com/products/16/38467_fishing_rod_storage_racks.html http://www.coldtuna.com/ http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/horizontal-pod.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/pod-link.jsp_A&_DAV=perf&rid=&indexId=cat600052&navAction=push&masterpathid=&navCount=0&parentType=index&parentId=cat600052&id=0001318 http://www.monstermarketplace.com/googlesearchw47.asp?q=fishing%20rod%20storage http://www.eangler.com/product/166500348.htm

Cold Weather Gear Thread Again
;D LBH, If I didn't know this was a fishing forum I would seriously wonder what's up...Hehehe. For cold rainy days I like my BPS Gore Tex rain gear. The jacket liner keeps me warm and the pants over jeans work well too. The only complaint I have is the fleece liner and the shell rubbing together create static if I wear them on a non-rainy day.

Business Administration in the role of aPro angler
BASS Fisherman, I don't want to sound mean or uppity but I would highly recommend some courses in English as part of your business courses. Your written word does not convey your ability on this forum in regards to your aspirations. Study hard and Fish hard. Good luck to you.

Anyone concerned about...
Hello Whacky Rig, Russ, Kudos to you for your technique and using barbless hooks when you know the bass will swallow the bait. Instead of using your fingers why not use one of those funny red hook removers that have a large ball on one end and a small ball on the other end that they sell at Wal-Mart and other stores for hook removal? They are about 7 or 8 inches long and they have channels in the balls to help remove hooks. They would work very well with barbless hooks and the use of one of these wouldn't require you to shove your finger down the fishes gullet. Using one of these might be healthier for the fish that you catch. OR, maybe you might want to try some long stainless steel needle-nosed pliers or even a Leatherman set of pliers. Regards, Tom

tastiest fish
RoLo, I do love to eat bass once in a while. I was just commenting on my favorites. I especially like to eat bass that are just over legal size. Cleaned, scaled and filleted, fried in butter with a little bit of wine and served with lightly seasoned rice and steamed vegetables that are in need of butter, salt and pepper. 8-)

Do the fish know?
The most successful, as in fish caught, smallmouth fisherman I ever met used to fish the banks of creeks and rivers in PA in full camo gear and ducked into the low lying brush and rested against tress to catch his quarry. He used floating Rapalas and jerkbaits. The first time I ever saw him I thought he was nuts. After talking to him I tried some of his techniques and WHAM! I was catching smallmouths! When I fish from shore I usually try to dress in colors that blend with the surroundings. In the boat I don't care. I just don't make a lot of noise.

Dawn or dusk?
I love going fishing at dawn. It's wonderful and there are no pleasure boaters to deal with. My wife likes it too, she sleeps while I get my fishin' fix in. ;D

Help with Small Pond
Lake fishing isn't so hot lately either. As a matter of fact it hasn't been all that good in my area all summer.

Lake advice needed.
Perhaps a lure that looks and imitates the bait fish and minnows in your area? Try some black and silver spinner baits or some buzz baits.

silicone sealer vs rtv
I am not a marine mechanic but I do know something of home improvement, automobiles. boats and I work on trains..... Do not use latex caulk with silicone for anything boat related. It's not designed for that! RTV is a very good sealant but there are different grades for different uses. Contact a marine specialty store for what you need or do a search on-line with 3M.

Portable Battery Powered Fish Finder?
Thanks you very much Gents. I want a portable for my little 12' Lowe fishing boat and I just couldn't remember the name of the finder that the guy I was talking to mentioned. It has to be the Humminbird Piranha Max because he mentioned the suction cup transducer. Thanks Burley. I plan to mount a fish finder on my deck boat but I didn't want the hassles of going with a full bore finder for my little boat. The Piranha should do nicely. And, I will take your advice on the batteries Burley and Pops. I appreciate your help. Thanks very much. Tom

Inflatable fishing boat!
I have one of those Fish Hunter rafts. They do not have a lot of room in them. They do not steer worth a darn when rowing either. I haven't tried the motor mount that is available. I have not tried fishing out of it since I have other boats at my disposal.

Portable Battery Powered Fish Finder?
I was talking with a guy in California about his fishing boat and he commented that he had a portable fish finder that operated on AA batteries. I'd like to get something for my little 12.5' Lowe fishing boat. Who makes such a fish finder and what model is it?

Crawfish in all lakes?
Aint Texan, Are you refering to real Crawdads or plastic imitations? I have never seen a real crawdad in the colors that you mention here.
