  1. I sent mine in. I despise PETA as well as The Sierra Club and Green Peace.
  2. I missed 3. Campbells colors Matchbook number Bashful
  3. I am of the opinion that what works in one lake may not work in another for any number of reasons. I would give topwater lures a try anyway. What can it hurt?
  4. Guys, Maybe you can help me. I am looking for a pair of pliers that has a hook cutter at the very tip for snipping off a hook in a fish'e gullet. I know that I have seen these somewhere but I can't seem to find them. Anyone know where I can find pliers like this? Thank you, Tom
  5. Thanks for the article Chris. Very interesting read.
  6. Canuck Kid, I like to use an ultra-light spinning rig and either Mepps or Rooster Tail spinners. The colors I have had the best luck with in California, Pennsylvania and North Carolina are white / silver and chartreuse / brass. The lightest weight of these lures seems to work better. Check your local regulations about hooks. Some states will only allow a single hook on your lure. Treble hooks may be forbidden. Rooster tail sell spinners with single hooks. If your catching and releasing I recommend single hooks for the fish's sake. The way I fish these lures in a stream is to cast upstream and retrieve with the current just fast enough to make the blade flutter. Trout don'tseem to trust a lure that is moving upstream as much. You'll get more hook ups going with the current. Good luck and have fun. Tom
  7. Cool Pics....Pun intended It's good to see someone catching fish and having fun on the ice. I have never had the opportunity to ice fish. I'd love to try it but where I live I doubt that'll ever happen here. I can't seem to talk my wife into a winter vacation in the Minnesota. ;D
  8. The "Do Not Call List" worked for me. I used it for my home and our cell phones months ago. No problems. I also added my work number and the work cell phone recently. That helped as well. I must add that the "Charlotte Observer", the big newspaper around here, did keep calling regarding renewing our subscription to that rag. I threatened to sue them, which did no good. I then switched tactics. I told them I wanted it free since I needed the paper for my bird cage and since the paper promoted liberal causes they needed to provide me with somewhere to collect my bird's droppings when he doo-dooed in his cage they have stopped calling. ;D
  9. Congratulations on your new toy! Alpster's right. Aluminum will take some beating. May I recommend that you put anchor in your boat with 100' of line? I run into all kinds of people that don't keep an anchor in the boat. Their logic is I have a motor and I have a trolling motor, why do I need an anchor? An anchor might save your bacon on a windy day if you have an engine problem. It might keep you out where you can flag down help instead of up against the shore getting the crap beat out of your boat. (Yes, this happpened to me a very long time ago) An anchor will also help you sit still in current. Take care and have fun. Tom
  10. I think I would ask: What's your favorite lure? What do you mean our lures are funny? Are you saying that all we really need is a piece of red rag on a hook fished from a bank using a stick? You mean to tell me that the bait and lure companies made a pact with your kind years ago? What do you mean that you all made a killing when you all designed the bass boats so that all they are good for is bass fishing so that the boat builders could turn a hefty profit on a unique design? What do you mean I look a little green around the gills?
  11. Great post Paparock. Thank you for the info. Glenn is right. There are still some Dems that receive high ratings from the NRA but their numbers are few. I'm a life member of the NRA. I plan to do my part in helping keep this type of legislation from moving forward. I hope everyone here does their part as well. Thanks and enjoy the rest of this fine weekend. The bad guys return to work Monday. They'll be back in Congress. Tom
  12. I am a "Preferred Rewards Card" holder. Sure, everyone gets the catalog but, everyone doesn't get the added savings coupons that come out in the mail every once in a while....or at least that's what they tell me. Frankly, I could care less what they call me, "preferred customer" or just plain ol' customer. I love BPS and would shop there without any benefits so I see the rewards card as a bonus. The rest of the discounts are icing on the cake that has already been iced.
  13. "Hi, I'm Tom and I'm a Capaholic" The crowd responds "Hi Tom" I used to use all caps until properly schooled on a forum that I used to frequent. The reason for all caps? Log books at work. All logs were to written in caps. It became habit. On a slightly funny note: Jim, When you add the first website for learning to type in your Favorites the title comes out all in CAPS. Heehehe ;D
  14. WOW, I started a storm. 8-) Glenn, I don't know you or the rest of the fine people that keep this site going but I will tell you this, I will pay to up grade the servers and I'll help pay for the bandwidth to keep it going. If it takes a bit more money I'm in. What would it take to speed things up a bit? Regards, Tom Bass
  15. It seems that when I access this site lately it gets slower and s-l-o-w-e-r......... What gives? I have a cable modem and I swear, I have stepped back into to stone age when I try to access this site. Is there a problem? Can I make a donation to help fix this? Do we need a bigger server? more bandwidth? and what would it take to speed things up? I'll put in my fair share. I'm not trying to badmouth, just looking for a cure. Regards, Tom
  16. Personally I prefer Folgers anyway.
  17. Jim, Whatever you do please don't go away. I enjoy your posts and your sharing. Don't let some bonehead alter your opinion of forums. There is always one idiot to deal with no matter where you go. Tom

Avid, I'm sorry that you have to go through surgery again. I hope all goes well for you. Tom
  20. Very cool song! I'm not into Country either but I used to hear this song in California, of all places, on my way home from work. I just love that song. Of course I don't have Brad Paisley's problem...My wife just bought me a new (new to me) Bass Boat for my birthday. Well, she didn't really buy it...she authorized the purchase of a 2003 Nitro 750SC with a Merc 125hp 2 stroke with only 50 hours on it. I pick it up tomorrow. Man, I love that woman!

Muddy Man, Thanks for asking that question. I upgraded my anti-virus and went to Explorer 7 and I kept getting that annoying question. NB1226, Thank you for your post with a fix. I will try that.
  23. Guess I would need a fishing partner to be annoyed.....on second thought I don't need a witness to some of my bonehead moves. ;D Maltese Falcon, You are so right. I swear, if I would set up video cameras where I launch in the summer I might just have some best sellers on my hands.
  24. That is really cool. 8-)
