  1. Man. I really wish more people would put their location in their "signature line" or under their avatars. It truly would make figuring out what's working where a whole lot easier. Is this suggestion so weird to people? Are so many afraid of being stalked? No one needs to be specific. Just a locale. Or a lake or body of water. Internet BS aside, what's the problem with a locale? A "purple worm" might work in Kansas but a guy in Minnesota might not need that info. Instead he might find that a Mepps #2 in white and silver is the ticket....It's a locale thing guys! It's also a money thing. A guy in Georgia won't catch a darn thing on a Mepps but if he doesn't know the locale for the hot baits he can't judge the HOT baits being used with clarity. Think about it.
  2. Be careful what you wish for. I used to worry about bulking up..Then I did. Then fat reared it's ugly head and I dieted and worked out eating only proteins. Now I don't care. Please understand this evolution took many years. Your body changes. Someday you will brag about the size you are now....I guarantee it! 8-)
  3. If this keeps up we're gonna need a bigger server and more bandwidth.

Or...You could eat them. They've been eating cultivated food. They should be healthy and free of parasites by now. Living in clean water. Controlled conditions. LBH, They're two bass living in a tank. Would it be better if Crayon just ate them? He's studying them. Watching their habits. He has plans to release them. What's wrong with what he's doing? If he caught them and ate them, as many people do, would that be worse than keeping them and releasing them later? Tom
  5. I found this African webcam site a while back. It is very cool sometimes. Sometimes there is nothing and then a few minutes later you're watching monkeys or wildebeasts. I haven't seen any lions yet but I keep checking it out on occassion.

Very cool laws. Been practicing them most of my life without the knowledge of them.
  7. I grew up in a very abusive household. No one would intervene because my dad was a tough guy and a bully. I left home at 17 and never went back. My dad is dead now. I do not miss him. I do not tolerate child abuse. I report it if I hear about it and I get confrontational with people if I witness it. I don't care where I am at the time, even if I am in their home. There is no reason to abuse a child. You can discipline a child without abusing them.
  8. Avid, Just one recommendation if you get a trailer. When launching, you may want to put a flag or a colored stick or pole standing upright in the canoe or on the trailer so that you can see it out of your rear window when backing the trailer in if you can't easily see the canoe or trailer out your back window. I sometimes have a bear of a time backing my little jon boat in because of how narrow it is and how low it sits to the ground. Good luck with your new trailer. Tom
  9. Drinks are on me....My place, casual dress, bring something to cook on the grill...The morning brings another day. Let's move on.......................... Anyone posting after this post has an agenda. Agendas cost the poster 15 Bait Monkey Points... ;D
  10. Holy Crap! ROCK and ROLL!....Very Coooool Stuff! My wife said NO
  11. 5th gear is Overdrive. Tow it in 4th and keep the speed reasonable and you should be okay. Check with Honda on the tow weight and keep the "tongue" weight of the trailer down (don't overload the boat and trailer with gear) and you should be all right. Put the gear in the car and load the baot when you get there.
  12. Carp is a fish that has stigma to it here in the USA. In many places in the world it's considered a food fish. It's also considered a Sport fish. If you've never fought a carp on a cool night fishing from a bank with friends you haven't lived. I don't care who you are. A 3' long carp will certainly provide you with a bunch of excitement even though the "hit" will be slow and uncertain. Set the hook and hang on! ;D My neighbor has been bugging me to go carp fishing recently. I think I'll take him up on it soon.
  13. Gents, Thanks for your replies. I'll be calling the dealer that has the used Nitro tomorrow and checking it out. The boat is rated for 135 HP max so I figure a boat with 50 hours on it that is failrly new with a 125HP motor for $11.9K is worth looking at. My truck will haul it with ease and it should fit in my covered storage area along with my Regal with no problems. A longer boat might cause me some storage problems, like more money for another storage area. I like the fact that this boat is short but wide with some power to push it. I'll let y'all know how things go. I'm just a little excited about this. I hope things fall into place.
  14. ;D ;D ;D
  15. Gents, Thank you all very much for your repiles. The 90 horse engine might be adequate for my type of fishing. I am not looking for "hole shot" and speed at this time but your recommendations do make me wonder if a year from now I might regret a 90 horse motor. I found another "used" boat that sounds okay to me but I thought I'd see what y'all think. Here goes: Used 2003 Nitro 750 SC. 125HP Merc. 50 hours on boat. Fish Finder & Depth Finder, trolling motor, T&t custom drive on swing away tongue single axle trailer (that's what's in the ad) for $11,900. The photo in Boat Trader looks okay but you never know with black and white thumb nail photos. What do you think about this used boat? It is being sold at a boat sales shop nearby so I would have some recourse if the thing is a flop or has problems. Thanks, Tom
  16. We are all going to die....
  17. Ironic isn't it? We strive to catch fish. We hook 'em up. Bait companies strive to catch customers. They hook us up. ;D
  18. I was in Bass Pro yesterday and they have a 2006 Nitro 750 SC w/ 90hp Merc on sale for $16,895. According to the Nitro website this boat should list at $21,900 total cost with shipping. The BPS price includes all shipping, prep and destination charges. http://www.nitroboats.com/boat/index.cfm?boat=2124 My questions: 1) Do any of you have experience with this boat? 2) Does $17K sound like a good deal? 3) Is 90hp a good solid number for needed horse power for a boat this of size? 4) Are there comparable boats in this category for less money? I have 2 boats now. A Regal 2120 Deck Boat that is my pleasure boat and a 12.6' Lowe Sea Nymph with a 9.9 Merc 2 stroke that is my fishing boat. After yesterday's outing in the Sea Nymph I have determined that I want a boat for fishing that is made for the kind of fishing that I want to do. My Regal is not a one man launching boat and it isn't designed for fishing. There is no way to mount a trolling motor and serious fishing accessories. I bought it for fun, not for serious fishing. I have been toying with the idea of buying a fishing boat which included an upgraded version of a Jon boat or a Utility boat, like a lafger version of the fishing boat I have. but I want some comfort and convenience in the boat I buy. I don't intend to fish tournaments. I don't need a 250 HP bass fishing machine. I just want something that has some power and all of the accessories that I'll need to enjoy many days out on the lake. SEE MY OTHER POST BELOW Thanks, Tom
  19. Ditto and good luck on your project.
  20. That is a good joke, no matter who tells it! ;D Thanks for the laugh. ;D
