Seems like I might have caught my yearly cold. Last time this year had the same thing going on and a co-worker suggested some heated whiskey with some honey. I tried it and after a few days of taking a hot shot before bed; I seemed to clear up. I know lots of fluids and rest go along to help. I just finished one off black velvet, cinnimmon, and honey. Anyone have any interesting hot toddy recipes?

I would try and figure out what my favorite techniques are for each rod then narrow it down to what the two other most productive techniques are use those two rods for those and throw a fluke on the remaining rod. I generally always have a fluke or senko tied on (same rod/hook) the other techniques I generally use are draging a tube and a topwater/spinner bait. So a 1/2oztopwater or 3/8 spinnerbait go on a mh rod. The tube on a medium spinning and the fluke/senko on the remainder whether that's a medium light or mh depending where I'm fishing. Of course you could always change lures on any given rod.

I like to tie my leaders an inch or so below my tip top and no more than 6 inches past my bail or spool. Not scientific but works for me.

I thought I looked funny fishing in a shirt and tie before work.

There is a difference between skill and luck. I'll use another sport for an analogy. It takes skill to get 3,000 hits its luck to make number 3,000 a home run.

This is an interesting topic and one I think about every so often. I recently boxed up my soft plastics and thought to myself I shouldn't buy anymore till I use the ones I've got. I doubt that will happen though. For me to fish on a budget I would need a few bags of white flukes 3/0 ewg hooks and any fast action rod. Reel doesn't matter.

Personally I'd go with power pro or sufix 832. They are both available at most retailers and both well tested and reviewed. There are lots of ways to put braid on a reel. One I heard here recently was to measure your arm span and pull out 75 yards of braid spool on reel with mono leader and then reverse it. I would recommend since this is your first experience with braid to spool up 50 yards of 6 lb mono and put the whole spool of braid on the reel. It won't cost more then 20 bucks and if you use a leader will last forever. There is no lure that I wouldn't tie on the end of a well tied leader.

You need a sharp nick free blade to get a good cut on braid. I use a pair of rapala braid scissors and the only thing I have ever used them for is cutting braid. If you start cutting other things with a pair of scissors say mono you may end up putting small groves in the blade making it more difficult to cut braid. Maybe a 50 or 100 blade won't have that problem but I don't know. You could also use a lighter to get rid of the frays.

There is a chart out there that breaks it down. I also believe it's different among lines but I think 1.0 pe is approximately equivalent to 10lb power pro.

Spinnerbaits are great. Keep at it. Sometimes a spinnerbait bite feels like it will rip your arm out. Nice job!

My first catch of the year was probably my biggest. I don't currently weight fish but I'm sure this was the biggest. Caught 4/16/13 This is a pretty good one from mid August.

I used to work for a car dealership as a lot guy/shuttle driver. To shuttle I used an oddessy. I think it had either a 3.6 or 3.8 v6 and that thing would get up and go. One time a guy said I should be a race car driver lol. I know people think they are girly but with a big engine they pack some ummphhh. Plus if you two need a break you can sit in the drive way and watch a DVD.

Certifigually if your talking about the previous model. Magnetic with the current one To access the breaks on the old model; unscrew the screw on top of the handle side and twist the non handle side up and down. Push the breaks tabs out for on and in for off.

I would take it over the silver max. Just for the aluminum frame. It's basically a previous generation revo s minus a bearing or two and carbon drag washers. The lightest bait I threw on it was a zoom super fluke and it cast that quite well.

X2 844 might be a good option as well.

6'8 medium fast shimano compre. 100 bucks lifetime warranty. Good rod that does a lot of things well. If you search fleabay you can probably find a medium light as well.

First off my boat ownership experience is extremely limited. Bought my first one an haven't gotten it wet since the river is iced over. I've been around boats for quite awhile not bass boats but jons and pleasure and with boats something will inevitably go wrong at sometime. The question I would ask myself is how prepared am I to handle a malfunction or problem. Both financially and mechanically. Like others have said servicing and engine can be an expensive proposition. If you have engine problems on the water how capable are you of diagnosing that problem and making it home? I remember one time being on a pleasure boat and the electric start died the guy I was with was able to get it started with a rope. Things like this you need to take into consideration. I look at boats like every other major purchase or decision I make wether it be cars, animals or housing. Can I afford it? Is it right for me? Is this something I will use/like/appreciate down the road. I waited almost three years to buy a boat because most of the ones I looked at weren't exactly what I wanted or had issues that I didn't want to deal with plus people around here want crazy money for pos boats. All I can say is be deliberate and don't just buy one bcause you have money burning a hole in your pocket.

Here's mine haven't even gotten it wet yet. I'm going to spend some time on the water and see how it works before trying any modifications. I have to get a fish finder and trolling motor at a minimum.

6'8-7'0 medium fast; I like a rod with a 1/8-3/8oz weight range. Very very versatile in my opinion.

I'm going to try my hand at building rods. Just ordered a sc3 7'0mf and sc3 6'9 mlxf spinning blanks basically got a two for one deal with some broken blanks to practice my wraps on as well. I'm going to try using tennessee handles with fuji alconite k- series guides. With a 2500 and 1000 size shimanos on the rods.
