  1. Hmmmm when to fish a fluke? How about everyday. I wouldn't get to carried away with the colors. I have great success with any of the white or pearl variations.
  2. Nice fish. Little creeks can sometimes hold big surprises.
  3. Not one but two ouch that's rough. Catching some fish is a nice way to take the sting off and wow that's one fat bluegill.
  4. X2 Did a google search as you probably already did and looks like it was discounted around 08-09. Ever think about coloring white braid with a pink marker or sharpie? Might be a PIA but worth it for the lady. Actually that might turn white braid red I dunno. Maybe you could look at a color wheel and find out what two colors make pink and find a braid in one color and match with a sharpie of the other.
  5. Last year I spent alot of time and money trying to configure a baitcasting setup to throw flukes. I found a 50e and loomis imx 783 do a great job at it but have since started throwing them predominantly on a spinning setup. Go figure.
  6. Wow all those fish are awesome but that second one has amazing coloration. Great job!!!
  7. Wow those are some awesome fish. Great job. .
  8. Check or call bocabearings if if you can't find it there or get your answer here you can always buy a cheap pair of vernier calipers and measure the inside, outside diameter and width and find a comparable bearing. I take the measurements 10 times for each spec and take the average. The bearings are sized in millimeters.
  9. Hopefully nature pays you back with a nice fat bass good job.
  10. All I've ever order from them was rods and I'm clear across the country. They send them in a solid tube and I've never had a problem. I'm sure a reel would be packaged just as well.
  11. It happens. You certainly could have made worse choices. That is a great all around combo. That reel is like a Honda or Toyota it retains a resale value so look at it like 300 spent but at the same time money in the bank.
  12. Zoom super fluke. Twitch twitch pause. Then again that's my answer for everything.
  13. It's spring and there is pollin everywhere. Its clumping like wet cotton all over my braid and hampering casting distance as it gets jammed through the rod guides. I usually try and pick it off that works with varying success or I cut the line and reel it off through my thumb. Does anyone have a better method to deal with this issue?
  14. I fished a few weeks ago in a off and on down pour. No problems; was using a symetre fl. My curado was on the ground getting dumped on still smooth like butter baby lol.
  15. Ahhhh that thing is huuggggggeeeeeee (pardon the fucillo reference) that's awesome you set a goal and with your own dedication and the help of fellow anglers you were able to achieve it and got that fish!!
  16. Awesome fish and description of the catches. Sounds like there's always a new presentation to try and things to learn great job!!
  17. Awesome fish. Great job. It's amazing sometimes those big ones are hanging in such shallow water.
  18. As mentioned above I might go a size or two smaller. I currently have a trion and had a cardinal (only reason it's out of commission is I tinkered with it) honestly I'd say go with whatever one feels better to you. I might have to give the nod to the pflueger for its drag though.
  19. Interesting how a thread on overpriced reels turned into a debate about customer service. I would try to buy a product where I don't have to deal with customer service for a defect.
  20. I was there a few weeks ago. No luck there were about 50 guys there trout fishing. I think right after they stock it all the bass and pike fill up on trout. Anyways great fish man!!
  21. I like to have two poles readys for that situation. 1. A jerk bait usually soft. 2. Some type of craw bait (football head, tube, etc) that way I can cover much of the water colum and see where the bites at. I'm usually beating the bank and that can get me bit and if not ill change the two rods to something completely different example shallow crank and dropshot. Good luck in the tournament
  22. ^^^^ see above great suggestions. 1/4oz grub bounced/dragged sometimes with a spinner if the waters stained or the suns down.
  23. Nice fish. Some guy told me there weren't alot of bass in there but I never belived it. That place looks like bass heaven.
