10 pound power pro braid with 4 to 8 pound fluro leader.I was using straight fluro for a long time but prefer braid mainline with a fluro leader.

the 4 power is plenty for the flipping i do where i fish and live.if i was going to fish really heavy cover i would opt for the 775cef endurance or max765 mh.for moderate cover i think a 4 power is plenty.i almost bought the 775 but felt it was to much rod for what i fish.i do fish a ton of submerged timber with the 764 and it has been an excellent rod and has plenty of power to get fish out.when i need to get up in the really nasty stuff i will use my custom nfc 7'3'' heavy.

I don't own either rod but have fished both I was not that impressed with the mossyback.for the price point I was hoping for more out of the rod as far as sensitivity. the avid was an excellent rod it was plenty sensitive.

never fished the energy pt but do have a tour edition pt that I bought from tw when they where 55.00. I bought the 7 4 heavy and was really surprised with the rods sensitivity. the tour edition is the hsx 62 blank .if the price is right on the energy rods you should give them a shot.

anyone have a vendetta and a vendetta 2 rod.what did they change about the blank.i have a vendetta 7mh casting rod and am looking at the 7'3'' heavy vendetta 2.the 7'3'' heavy has a moderate action which i really like for fishing jigs with braid.

have you tried 80 pound braid.

the daiwa t rods for 80 are solid

it happens I'm sure most of us have bent guides and bent them back.the more it happens to the same guide the weaker the guide becomes. I had a custom rod made that had micros on it that where so frail I finally had it rewraped with alconlites.

I was always told that an unfinished blank would be more sensitive.my custom jig rod is built on the high end north fork composite blank which comes unfinished

bass tackle depot has verdict rods for 65 bucks which is a good deal.tackle warehouse has quantum tour edition pt rods for the same price.I have a 7'4" pt and am really happy with it.the pt offers great sensitivity.another combo I bought a all star ast 7 mh and a h2o reel to use as a bank fishing set up because I always beat up my nicer rods bank fishing for some reason. the all star combo was only 90.00 at academy it has been reliable and served me well .the verdict and an orra sx would be a great combo for 130.00

I like micro guides I have several rods that have them including my two custom made jig rods. I have found one issue with them if you fish in colder weather they plug up with ice way easier than a standard guide.this may not be a problem for some who live in warm climates.I'm from the Northwest where even in late spring we can have air temps cold enough to ice up guides when casting

tech spec 6'10'' ml dropshot rod with a pfluger president reel.bought this combo a couple months ago and is one of my favorite combos

do you have any experience with the diesel series.I'm looking at buying a 7'6" flipping stick and the 7'2" as a jig rod.

the Powell diesel rods are 70.00 at tackle warehouse they have a 7 foot 2 inch and a 7 foot 6 inch in casting models.

I'm new to bass fishing but have been an avid steelhead angler for years.my bass rod arsenal is growing but wanted to ask for the opinion of some of the more experienced bass anglers. I have a 7 foot 10 inch eagle gt casting rod that is rated for 1/4 to 1 ounce with a medium fast tip.can I use this rod as a flipping stick I was thinking if I put some braided line on it would help counter the slower tip action of the rod.any advice or opinion's are greatly appreciated.

for the money the pfluger trion and the Lews laser speed spin are excellent reels.I own both with the trion being 6 years old and still going strong.the lews has a larger arbor which helps with line management. out of the two I recommended I would go with the trion only because it has held up to years of steelhead fishing.
