Please forgive my lack of knowledge, experience, and all around know-how when it comes to this subject... I'm getting by being self-taught so to speak when it comes to Bass Fishing... What's up with the Chartreuse lures? it seems like ever professional angler I see runs nothing but these bright neon cranks or spinners (unless they're casting swim-bait), with GREAT results. I own mainly natural colored lures, and a few odd balls that I've found here & there. Is it a safer investment into Chartreuse lures over the other stuff? I'm aware that light refraction changes as the water becomes deeper, but I mainly fish clear pond/lake water. I just figured I'd ask, considering I've had varying experiences with a variety of patterns and colors. Most notably, a silver/blue spinner and a white popper catch most everything that ends up on my line...

Thanks guys. Just to keep y'all interested, this is my latest catch from two days ago Ended up retrieving through a school of shad....caught quite a few of these little guys. And this big 18" lunker. He put up a SERIOUS fight, I'm glad I was using my bigger shimano spinner and heavier line for this one...

I started the same thread about a week ago on an offroad forum I frequent daily... A buddy of mine who does a LOT of fishing up in Wyoming apparently found it..

A buddy of mine gave me this lure after I gave him a rather large spinning rod for tight lining cat with. I have NO idea who made it. There were no markings on the lure. I can tell you this, it was about 2 3/4" long, weighed about 1/2 oz, it rattled, it cast out in darn near a straight line ass-first, like the rapala xrap's do, and it floated on top of the water level like a Heddon zara spook. Long story short, a BIG bass snapped my line one morning on the first cast out at my new honey hole and the lure was gone. I've looked at: Storm Strike King Rebel Rapala Baker Lures (very close) H20 Heddon XCalibur (comes close) Yo-Zuri (close second) This thing was a real winner for me and never failed to catch a good bass. I hated to lose it. I'm pretty sure it's a 1-3 years old, or somewhere in that ballpark of age. That might be why I can't find it any contemporary catalog. Any help would be seriously appreciated!

When I'm not fishing off the Natchez Trace my gun is on my hip like it is everywhere else. It's not so much the idea of being mugged while fishing, but rather leaving $600 in a car parked in the middle of nowhere, and Alligators...

I found this site months ago and threw it into my Fishin' bookmarks... I figured I'd go ahead & join up, maybe learn a thing or two. Fishing has been a struggle for me since day one, 15+ years ago when it was introduced to me. Since then It's been up and down and back around again. Long story short, I had a BUNCH of tackle stolen from me six or seven years ago to the tune of two tackle boxes full of hardbaits and 4-5 rod/reel combos. It was a sad day indeed. a neighbor moved and left me a couple rod/reels and a tackle box and I decided to roll with it.... Haven't looked back yet! Anywho, I mainly fish the Ross Barnett from the Natchez Trace Parkway. I'm not a pro... Just a Hobbyist turned addict angler, gotta love those large mouth!! You can find me out there 2-3 mornings a week between 4 and 7 am.
