  1. An easier knot would be the Shaw Grigbsy knot. I have yet to have it break with 40 # braid.
  2. I think the salsa color will be a hot seller. The salsa is one of my number one producers in the flip n swim and I've ways wanted to make it a Black Series flip n swim. I'll jump all over it. Will the new colors be available in the sale? I'd like to see the money maker craw in a Black Series. How bout something in a chartruse with brown back craw type. That in a crank produces a lot of fish for me.
  3. I have to wonder if this is why one of the reasons products get bad reviews posted on the net. Sounds like you bought something and used it for a purpose it wasn't intended for and post a bad review of it?
  4. I'd defiantly jump on them. I am pretty well stocked for most of the summer, but I may get a few more just cause lol
  5. North Sfar just updated their Facebook page saying that TW is now stocked with flip n swims and the original swims should be done soon. They also said they may be having a sale for the 4th of July!

  7. Upload it to YouTube and the. Post the embedded code here.
  8. You have officially given me nightmares for the rest of my life.
  9. I watched this video right before I was convinced to buy a high quality sensitive cranking rod. All I can really think about is how many fish have I lost over the years. Great video!

I was driving a tractor trailer out of high school on a deserted stretch of highway in Texas about 2 am one summer. I had something buzz me over head that looked like it was moving at Mach 2 plus. Never heard any engines roar or lights. Didn't even see exhaust ports etc. Never could explain it, but it d**n sure woke me up!
  13. First off, your over use of emotions has me a bit worried That 190 price tag would want to make me jump all over a St. Croix Avid. I had my 50E on a 7' MHM cranking rod and the two went together like peas and carrots. I ended up sticking it on something different as the 50E was too fast for cranking, but I have my heart set on another Avid next month. I would suggest a 7' or longer Avid in a Medium XF action.
  14. I've never shat myself yet, but I might have after that one.
  15. When I was 15, dad and I were night fishing for walleye on Pratt Co. Lake. We watched this pickup circling the lake about 20-30 times. It's about 3 miles around so this went on for some time. Dad was a cop, so of course this peaked his interest. No cell phones at the time so we just waited. Next thing we see is a large rolled up carpet being pulled out of the back of the pickup and being tossed into the lake. My dad didn't even reel up our lines, just hauled tail over there. Truck took off but dad got the tag. We drug the carpet up thinking there had to be a body in there. Dad started laughing and said "son we hit the mother load" found a total of 9 rifles and shotguns all rolled up. We ended up packing them up and headed into town to call the Sheriffs office. Turns out the weapons were not stolen but a mad jealous wife that had been cheated on took revenge on her hubby! We never went night fishing again after that one lol
  16. The drag star is under tention from a spring underneath. Tighten the drag all the way down and see if there is still play in it. It may be just the left over space for it to tighten down. I've never noticed it on my 4 Shimano reels. I'll check in the am.
  17. This!
  18. I've got one spooled with this and a other spooled with 40 pound PP slick. Both are awesome reels. My first Shimano baitcaster was one of my 200G's. while its not a Chronarch, it's a d**n fine reel for the money. I want to get a few more. I've had zero issues with both and I fish one of them hard everything I go out. I'd recommend one to anyone!
  19. No problem!
  20. Kinda the same way a 69 Charger is much better than a 2013 model. Older models were made with tighter tolerances, better parts and overall nicer feel. I have no basis for the knowledge of feel on the older reels though. All is from what I've read from some respected members here and other forums.
  21. Well said!By the time I purchase that 200 dollar reel, the US government and American people have profited and made several dollars on it. From import tax to the guy at the reel bar selling me the reel. That money is then turned around and used in the US economy. My question is though, how many products that say "Made In America" are just assembled here and made with parts made overseas?
  22. I have two. A MH and H. Both 7'1". I bought them before I really knew what Gloomis was. Both of mine are extremely sensitive and great rods. I have a Chronarch and Curado on them. One is my main jig rod for 1/2 oz rigs and the other I've deemed the Rage Rig. Both are way underpowered for what the are rated. The MH feels like a semi stuff M and the H feels like a true MH. The max weight is 3/4 oz. I feel like it has too much bounce in the tip. The cork and reel seat feel nice too. I have wild cards for both too. That's one of the best things about them. That said, both feel like baseball bats now that I've got a couple of St. Croix Avids that weight 4 ozs. They around around 6.5-7 oz each. I really don't think they are worth 200 dollars. The Avid feels 10 times better to me for around 180. Warranty's not as good as the loomis, but it feels like a better rig. Other than the weight I have no complaints.
  23. All I do is bank fishing so I think I can help. I would get some greens, browns and some blue/blacks. I only use North Star jigs. I prefer the black series flipping jigs and flip n swim, swim jigs. The colors I would grab are Brown Craw, Froger, black n blue and Insanity in the black series. I use rage craws in falcon lake for the brown craw, watermelon red for the frogger, black n blue flake for the black n blue and candy craw for the insanity. For the flip n swims I like Mistake (black blue red), salsa, new gill and a custom color Chris made I call Crappie. For trailers I use all Berkely Havoc Sub Woofers in Plum for the Mistake, watermelon red for the salsa, Alabama craw for the new gill and smoke black flake for my crappie jig. If you want some pictures of the jig and trailers let me know. I'm on my phone so it will have to be later for the Picts. I only use 1/2 oz weight in all my jigs.
  24. TW or North Star?
