  1. You seriously teased us like that and didn't even post a picture? I hope you hit a deer lol
  2. Thanks! That's the info I was looking for.
  3. That might be an option if it came with the Wild card.
  4. I've landed Striper over 30 pounds on 10 pound mono. Good drag and time is all that's needed. The smaller leader is needed match up to the diameter of the braid. I go 50/50. 40 pound braid, 20 pound leader. I think 12 is too small unless your using 30 pound braid. If you used say a 20 pound leader with 20-30 pound braid, the braid will cut into the leader and break it off. On a side note, usually with catfish, a leader is not really needed unless the water is clear or sharp bottom of the lake. But basically you have to fish like your using the leader diameter and pound test, not the braid strength. Some use braid for the strength, I use it for the sensitivity and management.
  5. Welcome from the OKC Edmond area!
  6. I know guys that will go toe to toe with an MMA fighter any day of the week, but wont go into one of the buildings on campus because of foot steps in the attic. He pours out in sweat when talking about it. We actually went in with the Lt and Dispatch one night and I checked out at that buidling. I started running in place and got my vitals up. Called out to dispatch that I needed help fast and didn't say another word. Everyone else was in on it too. They were all parked out back blacked out. Took the poor guy 5 minutes to get there and he never would go in. Kept yelling for me to answer him. Scared him so bad he took a couple days off. We came over with beer and pizza after work. Told him we were messing with him and he still will hardly speak about it without breaking out in sweat. This is one big sum buck I've seen in action too.
  7. i will have to spend some time on this one. I work on a Campus PD with some buildings dating back to the 1800's. There is some **** here that even scares me!
  8. Thanks for the reply. I hadn't even looked at the DX. Those are gorgeous man! That might be an option if my funds get here before the sale. I wasn't very impressed with the Cumara. The newest model anyway. The grip felt too short and the red kinda turned me off.
  9. Could be lol. With a light weight swim jig, I could see it working ok, but with a heaiver jig, not so much. Have you tried a Berkley Havoc Subwoofer? I use them almost 100% of the time with my swim jigs. They are great baits, cheap and come in an 8 pack. I have matched a color to each of my favorite North Star Flip N Swim jigs. 2.99 an 8 pack and they are always on sale at my academy for 2 bucks.
  10. I tried it a few times but wasn't too impressed. With a swim jig, you have to create all the action of the bait yourself. Something with a paddle tail works better for me.
  11. I know there are alot of threads going on like this one, but none with the models I am after. I'm looking for a rod with a max weight of 1 oz or higher. The musts: 1. Has to be light. My Avid is 4.1 ounces. I'd like to be close to 4-5 ounces 2. Has to be very sensitive. 3. Has to have regular guides. I cant stand Micro guides. 4. Has to have a hook keeper 5. Has to have a killer warranty. The maybes: 1. I'd prefer cork handle non split grip 2. Dark or black. I have a budget of around 275ish. I am using a Loomis GL2 7'1 H model 854CJWR right now. I like it, but feel that I can do better. When I bought my St. Croix Avid 70MHM, I was blow away with how sensitive it was. Here are my idears so far. Rod will be my main Jig rod. Flipping jigs 1/2 oz and pitching heavy plastics/ G.Loomis Mossyback 7'1" Mag H BCR855. Max weight of 1oz. The reviews are soild on this one. Can't find the weight listed online on this one. Can't find any local to hold and test out. St. Croix Avid 7'0" H AVC70HF. Max weight of 1.5oz. I have held this model and it feels great. I was blown away with my MHM Avid, so one would hope this would live up to the hype. 13 Fishing *** Black 7'1" H or 7'3' H. Both have a max weight of 1.5oz. I have never held the ***, but I have held the ***. I will be getting an *** for flukes I was that impressed with it. Super light and felt really solid. There is a 10 dollar difference in the 7'3" over the 7'1'. Dobyns Champion 7'3" MH XF FH 735. Max weight is 1.5oz. Tackle Tour gave this rod a 7.85. Its at the max weight I would like at 5.7 ounces. Thanks in advance. If you have something else that fits into here, let me know.
  12. Agreed. Lots of guys by a rod based off recommendations here and other places and drive to the nearest dealer. For some guys it's over an hour away. My pickup gets 12 MPG, so I can understand the shipping it part! Glad to see they came through. Makes me feel better if I ever have to use it.
  13. I will defiantly be going next year. I had way to many expenses with a wedding coming to commit this year.
  14. When you attach the picture to your email and send it, my iPhone asks me if I want small medium or larger picture. I choose medium. I have the 4
  15. Email them to yourself. Choose the medium option when emailing. Open email and save picture. They will fit size wise now.
  16. If your just going to go fishing and nothing else, I suggest Pratt county Lake. Its about 70 miles west of you on 54. Its my home lake. I fished that lake for almost 25 years. Its made for bass fishing. Has some decent walleye and crappie mixed in too. Nice boat ramp too. Its only 5-6 miles from town if you need to make a run for supplies.
  17. Try the Moaner Stroker unweighted or weighted hook. They have the screw lock that holds the bait. It makes it last much longer. Basically any swimbait hook with a screw lock keeper will work, I just prefer the Moaners.
  18. The hippy jigs have been offline at NS's page for a long time. Tackle Warehouse used to stock them. As for the finesse and Hairs, not really sure. Shoot Chris a call in the AM.
  19. Of those 3 I'd go with the Mojo. They are tech specific and much better quality control than the Abu's.
  20. Matched with a Strike King Rage Craw in candy craw, it's a perfect match
