  1. Ya it can. It can cause kinks which can weaken the line.
  2. I thought I had seen him post where he rigged it upright. I've been doing the same on my new gill flip n swims too.
  3. My scale shows .4 ounces
  4. Well dang. Zona told me he preferred a 5/0 lol
  5. I have tried both a 4/0 and 5/0 Stroker hook and I cannot get it to run true when I rig it like a swim bait. If I rig it like a flipping bait, no issues. I've also found that if you don't let it sink and burn it back, it's like a little buzz bait.
  6. 4/0 Moaner Stroker hook. Any speed the tail will have action. I mainly use them as swim jig trailers though, but they work really well with either
  7. Ex friends and stupid people yes, all the time. Now my ex wife, na, it's all good every time he kisses her he's...........ill stop now
  8. Look at the IPT on them. The 5 gear has 23. The 50E has 25 and the 6 gear has 27. What's closer to what you have been using? The STX in a 6 gear is 26. If you were to make it a dedicated cranking set up, and use lipless or even squarebills say 75% of the time, I would say you need a faster IPT like 25 plus. For me, no matter what the crank, 26-27 is just too fast and I end up being worn out after 100 plus casts. Even on lipless cranks it wears me out. I was using my 25 IPT 50E and its too much for me. I'm going with an E5 next month. 23 I can speed it up just a tad and be perfect for lipless or average speed and be fine for deep diving cranks. I've been using 19IPT reel to crank with for about a year and love it, but lipless cranks its a bit too slow. Some say get faster and just slow your cranking speed down, but for me it throws me off.
  9. Not a clue who makes them, but they are good baits. I like a few of their color selections, but feel they could do better. As for the hooks, they are top notch. They have the heavy duty VMC hooks. Super sharp and they last a long time
  10. H2O baits come with heavy duty VMC hooks installed. I like H2O hard baits and strike kings. I probably have more SK's than H2O's. That said. The stock SK's hooks suck compared to the VMC's
  11. What never man. If I told you the sky was blue, you'd say it was wrong too.
  12. Skype and FaceTime are great tools. I talk to my son every night via FaceTime. Doesn't make it perfect, but it sure does help some
  13. I really like Squarebill crankbaits in shallow water. I have done so so with jigs, but the 4s and the 1.5 seem to bring me the best results. If the bass are pushing the bait fish to shallow water and tearing them up, I will switch up to a top water spit shad and have really good luck too.
  14. I don't use them as much anymore as I use Berkleys and SK's, but I rigged them all with an internal tube weight and a Gammy Skip Gap 4/0 hook.
  15. One brand maybe. Look at every other flipping hook and tell me there they same
  16. Look at the size difference between them. A flipping hook is usually very heavy gauge wire where as a EWG hook is thinner. Flipping hooks are a straight shanked hook. It makes the hook point have more surface area to dig through the plastic and into the fish's mouth. And EWG hook doesn't have as much hook area.
  17. I can't duplicate it. I've tried tighting the reel seat down so hard it's over tourqued and no issues. When you say it won't come open, are you giving it some elbow grease? They don't open near as easy as my Revo's did at first. After a few months they became smoother. The tolerances on the Chronarchs are pretty tight.
  18. I forgot to tighten a reel down on the rod once. Set the hook on what could have been a nice chunk, and reel popped off. I had to finagle the reel and ended up stressing the line to much and snap! Got my 3 dollar jig, 30-40 foot of line and I looked like an idiot!
  19. How much more Re we talking? I want to stay around the 700-800 dollar mark
  20. Look at the rod rating. Not all MH's are created equal. My Crucial rates at 1 oz and is a good stuff tip. My Loomis is rated H at 3/4 oz. It also depends on the size of the jig and trailer. I use only 1/2oz with medium sized trailers. A MH doesn't always cut it. I prefer H or XH.
  21. I've never used one, but companies sell them and have them in their line up. I always opt for some color so I can have just a few jigs that will cover most anything.
  22. I just took a craw, and rigged it like a shakey head. It stayed pretty weedless. Didn't last as long on the jig, but worked pretty good.
  23. Jigs for me. I have better luck in the smaller ponds with jigs than I do in larger lakes.
  24. Have you tried Moaner hooks? They make the stoker which is the best hook I've found. I don't know if I would use a jig head. The bait may not last long.
