  1. I think you misunderstood the reason everybody cracked the whip on you last time. He asked for your opinion on a reel and left the topic open. Hell I said Chronarch E series too. Point we all tried to make was when a guy asked about two specific products, you threw in a bid on a different product followed by an "it sucked" and left it at that. No one wants to hear thst
  2. I would lean hard on the Chronarch E5 followed by the Abu Winch. I am more than impressed with my E7. My next is more than likely going to be an E5. The Chronarch has a few more features that I like over the Winch.
  3. If your in the market and enjoy the look and feel of thr reel I'd say go for it. Its not a POS by any means. I have had some bad luck with BP reels other than the carbonlite and PQ in the past, so I stick with those two. BP's warranty is one of the best, so if it goes belly up, you can get your money back.
  4. Ya, I was snowed in at work with nothing to do. I seriously made it to the end of the Internet that night
  5. Original bags for me. Main reason for me is I know the brands, type and what color the package by heart. Makes it easier to find what I need
  6. My favorite is a green pumpkin purple good flake coffee tube from Strike King. Next to a jig, it's my favorite bait to throw. I rig them with a BPS or the like 1/4 oz internal tube weight with a Skip Gap hook in 4/0.
  7. It pains me to say my Jayhawks may not have what it takes. Johnson is not a true point guard. He is a #2 guard and excels at that position. We don't have a true point guard that can start and be used for minutes. Tharpe is a great PG, but is small and still a rookie. Give him 2 years and he may have what it takes. We also don't have a true leader on the court. Coach Self and coach Roberts can only do so much from the bench. We need someone willing to jump in the middle of guys ***** and tell them how it is. Tyshawn Taylor was that guy for 4 years. We are replying on Withey in the paint and Releford on the point. Releford is the best damned defensive player in the history of KU. He needs a strong back up for rest. We had that in Johnson for the last 3 years. Now with Johnson running the point, Releford has to go 38 minutes. Releford also had the highest field goal % in the Big XII last year. The man can shoot but with being stuck on the D hard, he wears quick. Kevin Young has broken out of his shell but can't stay out of foul trouble. McLemore isn't consistent enough to know how he will perform. Of all the things we have going for us is 4 seniors with championship experience.
  8. I actually own more Shimano reels than Abu's. I won't refuse to buy a product because of its pro staff or followers though.
  9. Yep! A 5 gear paired with a Veritas 7' M Winch would make one killer small squarebill set up
  10. I've found no difference
  11. This is why I had to try this. I'm sold. If I ever go Pro (ha ha ha) I will advertise for free with this stuff. I was that impressed!
  12. Original, The owner, Bobby Uhrig, recommended it. Said it was his favorite.
  13. Fill the sink up with cold water and add ice. Then see if it suspends. Try the above method. I have 8 of them and a few, I had to add a split ring or larger hook to make them truly suspend.
  14. The Abu rep I talked with during the classic, said that one of the reasons for hig sales of the S, was the look. Matched the Veritas rod so well. It also owns the market on the 130 price point. Most people don't want to spend over 100 dollars on a reel. It's easier to make them dig for an extra 30 to get the S than 100 to get the STX.
  15. Smoothness, depends on your reel so that's a point. One of my Curado's is smoother than my STX but the other is not Harder to take apart? If your talking about the side plate to adjust the breaks, takes more effort but far from harder. If your talking about the internal handle etc it only more screw on the STX. Are you talking about the Curado v's the Gen 3 STX in low Profile? Maybe the Gen 2 but the Gen 3 STX is lower profile than anything Shimano makes.
  16. For me, it's the 1.5 Strike King in Sexy blue back herring. I just picked up a bunch of Bomber Squarebill A's in firetiger. It may take the SK's place soon
  17. Everywhere I've looked it's out of green. Wonder if its be discontinued. Might email the company and ask.
  18. Nope. You have no credibility on here when you say it sucks buy something else. How bout give some examples on why you dislike it. People who post a comment or review and only say it sucks, have absolutely no credibility in the fishing world.
  19. This is exactly why people hate Shimano Owners and why people get so ticked and leave this board. At no time did he ask about a Shimano. To the OP, I own both. Love em both but I prefer the S. I wish it had EVA grips and came in different ratios but I like the S better. I don't like or use mag breaks. I'd rather save the extra for jigs!
  20. Of all the crank baits I have, firetiger gets used the most. I've been throwing a Bomber A firetiger since I knew what fishing was.
  21. Yep. Got the notification they posted it. I'm hoping. I'd love to grab that and get a nice review on it. I fish nothing but Blacks and Flip n Swims year round and hairs in the winter. These otta be great!
  22. I'm glad to hear its getting such good reviews. I've been thinking of going with one too in a few months. Mainly for finesse baits
  23. Slick braid and a fluoro or mono leader.
  24. I used to just vary my retrieve and try and bounce it off cover. I watched an episode of Facts of Fishing and Mercer was jigging it off the bottom and when he would find a ledge, he would yank it up and let it fall. He was going bust on Smallies with tubes and plastics. Switched up to a Red Eye and this method and cleaned house. That method is now on the bucket list!
  25. Trokars are great hooks. I have a few I use occasionally. However Mustads and VMC's are 1/4 the price for larger packs. I haven't lost a fish, in my opinion, that was hook related yet.
