  1. They cut down on some weight but not where your gonna feel a major difference. I get a bit better slack line feeling of bites with it. If you run a fluoro or mono leader it's kinda a pain for the knot to slip through the guides. When I bought it, I was going for the lightest possible combo of the two models. I love it and its one of my favorite combos. That said, I use braid and fluoro leaders a lot. My next rod will be a 7'3" MH Veritas and I will not get the Micros.
  2. Hellova reply man!!!! Thanks for that
  3. Bass Pro has em, Walmart online does, TW, Academy Sports. I would assume cabelas and gander mountain too
  4. My 7' MF micro Veritas paired with my revo s and line, weighs just hair under 12 ounces
  5. I highly recommend taking the reel you have and trying it on several rods. It makes a huge difference in the feel
  6. If you keep it for 6 more months it will be worth more
  7. This is how I set mine up. I will use 3 spring loaded tabs at times when it's windy or I don't need as much distance. I also set my spool tention knob only enough to make the side to side play stop and that's it.
  8. I know. I just found the most beautiful 2001 ranger I've ever seen for 4k.
  9. Here is my input. Grab a 130 dollar new Revo S and pair it with a 100 dollar Veritas. Save the 70 dollars and buy 70 dollars worth of Strike King Rage Craws, NSCB jigs and spinner baits!!!!
  10. Jeff, can you give me a link to your brand of boat? That looks sweet. I found a decent trailer from a buddy at work. I still think even with a 14' boat I can store the small trailer in the back yard and the boat from the ceiling in the garage
  11. I was hoping to get something small for this coming season and go larger in two years, but you make good point. If I wait till February of 2014 I can have a budget of around 7k
  12. Man I never thought about that. Good point. Thanks!
  13. I still have mine. I recently switched over to all Veritas rods. That said, I can't part with my Shock rod. I love the trigger, balance and the split grip. My biggest complaint is the guides. When running braid it sounds like a saw blade coming through them. My hook keeper busted after two trips but, for the money it can't be beat.
  14. http://www.trackerboats.com/boat/?boat=3514 This what I'm looking at getting in the next few months. I want to build a small casting deck from the rear of the front bench seat to the bow. Being as this has a 52" beam instead of the more common 42 or 46" beams, is this going to stable enough to stand on and fish? Im planning on going with a foot mounted motor on the front and a rear mounted trolling motor on the rear. I will take both batteries and place them in the rear for added weight. I will get a gas motor later. I want to stick with a 10' or under for now. I have a Explorer Sport Trac. With the tail gate down, it's 6'3" long. Bed is 54" wide so the boat will slip right in. I have no room for a trailer right now and don't want to do a storage unit at this time. I figure with boat, two motors, batteries etc, it will weight about 150-200 pounds. I have a sweet idear to build a ratchet lift to hang it from the ceiling in my garage. Thanks for the help. This is got me all kinds of gitty as a school girl
  15. What makes the smaller rod perform better? Are you throwing them around docks trees etc? Thanks
  16. I'd hang on to every mag I could. If the Clinton ban come back into play, they are great for trade stock on other mags, fishing gear etc.
  17. For me I want something with a fast action. I use a lot of Poprs and flukes that don't weigh much. I use a medium fast in 7'. I like a little bounce in my rod to load well. I have no trouble pushing 30-40 yards with a small Popr and braid.
  18. Abu recommended a very very light coat on the new S models
  19. I have a Veritas 7' heavy fast and it really feels like a MH. That may be my ticket. 25 doesn't seem to fast? I had used my 7 gear STX and it was way to fast. Wore me out
  20. I have a Veritas 7' heavy fast and it really feels like a MH. That may be my ticket.
  21. Never tried pitching them. That sounds like it would work well in the areas I fish
  22. Ya my Veritas MF is rated for 1/4 to 5/8 so I will have to go heavier
  23. Thank you. I'm here all week!
