I mean I wasn't casting to where I didn't see fish. The areas where I was fishing it I saw plenty of activity.

Guys I have been out fishing this a handful of times in spots where I have caught bass before. I have had no luck with the Rage Craw. I have tried fishing it every way I could think and the only thing I have caught was a large turtle. I am fishing it on a 7 foot med hvy fast action pole with 17lb test fluorocarbon. Do you guys have any tips on what to do?
  5. Oh joy.. Well sounds like my buddies cabin has a lot of ponds by it so I will probably hit those up first.
  6. Going to fish Truman Lake this weekend! Anybody got advice for this lake?
  7. This weather is just rough on the fishing here. We cant string together a solid number of decent days to fish.
  8. Thats what I have been looking for. I am having a hard time of finding a map of this lake. One thing I will say that this lake has no shortage of structure. Trees are all over in it. From what I have been hearing about it too is that part of it is a flooded cow pasture/farm land. So, I am thinking that there has to be some terraces through parts of it.
  9. I live in the north Missouri. Yeah I had a lot better luck yesterday caught 4 with a Crank
  10. So went out for the first time this year today. Came back with a couple of questions........ How do you fish a rage craw. I had it texas rigged and was working it on a MH spinning rod doing everything I could think of from SLOW fishing it to fishing it fast and bouncing it. Is this just the wrong time of year to fish it or what? I was fishing a lake thats water level is drastically lower than it was last year. I was basically standing probably 20 feet from where the shore was last year. Is there any adjustments to make? Fished a texas rig in general for the most part of the day. I was using rage craws, power bait worms and other soft plastics. Did not get a nibble the whole day. I was making cast out about 20-30 yds in a 180 casting pattern from shore. I was looking for structure and didn't find much the entire day. I was fishing them anyway I could think of. What adjustments to make? Just to give you guys some idea of what conditions were like. It was roughly 50ish degrees cloudy and what I would call murky water.
  11. Right before the sun goes down. It sure seems like that is when the big ones come to play. Just my experiences
  12. I want to demolish my PB. I was just starting to get into fishing last year and then the colder days came and I was inside. This year I want to beat my PB and get better at finesse/soft baits.
  13. Any tips for fishing in colder weather?
  14. I just want to get out!! I have been so stressed out and just need sometime out on the lake!
  15. I have caught two and one was less than a pound. Both were on a jitterbug
  16. There any bass clubs up in NW Mo?
  17. I am going to try for two things this year to master. Top water. I have never had success with top water baits. Frogs, buzz baits or jitterbug. Finesse styles. I am going to try and get a lot of them down. Last season was my first season back in a while so I mainly just threw cranks, but now I am going to try and venture.
  18. Anybody on here ever fish this lake? I am new to the area and have heard mixed reviews about the lake.
  19. The Jitterbug is the only thing I have had success with. I seem to strike out whenever I go with Buzz Baits and never really tried frogs. I will say top water is really fun when it works!
  20. One of my fishing stories I have from when I was little was my brother and I were pulling fish out of this lake left and right with our scout troop. My scout master and still good friend couldn't catch a cold anyway long story short we were all bank fishing and packing up to go back to camp. Just before all of this my line had tangled so I called it a night early figuring to fix it at camp. I don't know how but as i was walking it became untangled I cast it just for S&G's right where my scout master was and it had barely hit the water and BAM!
  21. I would love to have a job where I had 3 day weekends
  22. My personal favorite is whenever I go "okay last cast" reel it in and nothing. Then throw it one more time and bam! Hit! I have had that happen like 10 or so times.
  23. Every day I go fishing I try and work on a new technique. Even though I usually go back to what I know works rather than trying to make a new technique work.
  24. I am looking at getting a smaller boat something like a this pound prowler. From what I have been told is that a lot of good spots on this lake I like to fish are unable to reach by bank fishing. So, was just wondering if there is anything I need to know before buying something like this? Hidden cost? Stuff like that. This would also be my first boat purchase and I am a full time student/work full time so I would like to go with something more affordable. So if there is another alternative I am all ears.
  25. What are some techniques when the water is cold? Baits? Etc...
