  3. Love the looks of the last one!
  4. Those are great! You are very talented!
  5. A buddy and I caught around 30 fish in a "creek" that had more dry spots than pools. Only used Mepps Spinners. (my buddy caught more than me and had the big fish of the day) We caught Spotted Bass, Largemouth Bass, Channel Cat, Spotted Gar , Green Sunfish, Bluegill, Green Sunfish/Bluegill Hybrid.......saw, but didn't catch Long Ear Sunfish Nature is amazing. Kansas is amazing.
  6. Going fishing for spotted bass for the first time in a small central Kansas stream this weekend. Tips? Also using my waders for the first time so wish me luck!
  7. Great work!
  8. Looks great......would love to toss one in my local lakes!
  9. I fish both Kansas and Arkansas and the drought has completely changed the contours of local lakes. And just made it darn un fun to fish with temps over 100 almost every day until about 9:00 or later.
  10. Like Sun Fish said, if they aren't biting on top go a bit shallower with a spinnerbait or a shallow crank.
  11. My most successful combo is Eakins Jig 5/16th OZ Missouri Craw with a green pumpkin 3in chigger craw. The only factor is that I caught fish using it.
  12. So.....found the spinner bait without a skirt, tossed on this fluke.....will it catch fish?
  13. Scum frog, Zara Spook, and 3/8 oz fire tiger buzz bait
  14. Toss a Scum Frog and catch a big one!
  15. Hello again - I am lucky enough to have a family with a cabin on Beaver Lake in Arkansas. After some asking around, I found out that drop shoting is the best way to catch some bass there, problem is I am normally a Kansas bank fisherman (though we do have a boat in Arkansas). Obviously I new to the drop shot, I have read up on some of the tackle, but I like to rely on my friendly experts here on bassresource.com......so.......fire away....... 1. What tackle do I need 2. What plastics do I need 3. What tips can you offer for a newbie 4. You guys are awesome! This is a view from our dock.
  16. It was ridiculous, I thought I was snagged on some nearby wooden structure ( I was bass fishing ), then....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....my line went crazy, my drag was not set very tight obviously and it went ALL THE WAY OUT. I had just put new line on, so about 115 yds out. I had to battle like a deep see fisherman to get it in, and it wasn't until it was about 20 feet out that I knew it was probably a carp, thought it could have been a big catfish, maybe a HUGE wiper or even somehow I snagged a beaver....but it was just a huge carp.....had a blast bringing it in. These are the times I wish I had a hat cam to record my fishing hijinx. I have now accidentally snagged a carp, blue gill and channel cat.
  17. I am glad I can get all of this info here! You guys are all very helpful and I probably owe you a beverage.
  18. It was like deep seas fishing......it took out ALL of my line
  19. Common Carp
  20. Caught the biggest fish of my life today.........a carp.......with a lipless crank bait.......by the tail..........aprox 32" long....which equals about 18-20 lbs Couldn't land it all the way because I was standing on a ledge, so I reached out with my pliers to unhook my lure from its tail......longest fight I have ever had with a fish....wow!
  21. I received some as a gift and I would like to know if you use them, and what you use with them?
  22. Looks like it could be a logperch
  23. Thank you so much for the advice......I am also very excited to go watch the NWA Naturals play......future ROYALS!
