  1. A Rapala Skitter Pop in any color. This is the only popper I have ever used where I get consistent hit's on it when they will hit topwaters.
  2. Welcome to the forum! I personally don't, but I think some other's here will. I hope you enjoy it here. And may I suggest going to the introduction section first to introduce yourself.
  3. Went there yesterday during the rain and caught a nice 2-3 lber and had what I think was a pickeral. Still looking for sign's of the big one. Maybe get the kayak out this weekend and fish the whole thing.
  4. Yes. They also bite during the rain. It was raining lightly over here yesterday so I did some shore fishing for about 30 minutes a had a nice hit and caught a 3 lber.
  5. Went out this morning with the same top water strike king and caught a 2-3 lber and had a hit which I think was a pickeral.
  6. Fishing has been good for me. Caught 4 LM's, lost 2, all on senkos yesterday. On Sunday me and my buddy were kayak fishing. He caught a 1 and 2 lb LM. Later on we shore fished on a farm pond. He got nothing, I had a huge hit on a frog, a small 2 lber on a clear top water strike king that walked the dog and later on had an absolute giant on a Rapala skitter walk that got off by the dock. Catfish bite has picked up over here also.
  7. I would try a few things. First, a a live target blue back shad, a Titanium silver spinnerbait, a rapala skitterpop, or use a castnet, catch some shad and use them as bait.
  8. I catch probably 95% of all of my catfish on frozen hotdog's. Leave them in the back of the truck and you should be able to just break off pieces by the time you get there. My biggest catfish, which is in my signature, was caught on hotdogs, sometimes I will be catching 1 every ten minutes, some being over 4 pounds.
  9. Very nice bass man!
  10. That is what fishing is all about. Man, I would love to throw a big frog or mouse lure into a place like that.
  11. Thank's. I really didn't know what the girth was. My friend just said to say 11 inches, but I thought it was much bigger. I swear, NJ swamps can hold big bass. I have caught a bass about this size before and have heard several stories of friends catching lunker bass( over 10 lbs) in swampy places right by me.
  12. Thank's guy's. I guess you are all right. He is still there so I just gotta keep fishing it until I hook into him again.
  13. Alright I got it. Man, we were just out for fun. I went out one day for a fun day of fishing, and I happen to hook into a nice bass. It went after the lure, missed it, and got hooked in the side of the mouth. I lost it. Maybe I was wrong by a couple of pounds, maybe not. And I was on a dock. The water was a couple feet low so the fish was 3-4 feet below us, almost impossible to get it anyway. I only guessed because we had to. I figured it would be a nice topic to post, because at least I am really happy with what I accomplished today.
  14. Was fishing in a dingy old farm pond with my friend for bass. Frog's were every where and I caught a few and a small bass. Ended up using a Rapala skitter walk. I casted it out and let it sit, but I wasn't paying attention and when I looked for it, it was gone. I reeled up the slack and set the hook and after about a minute, a huge bass came up, maybe 12 lbs, around 25 inches with a girth of 11 inches, but I hooked him in the gill. My friend shot for the net but missed the fish and the fish got off. I am counting this as a catch because when he came up I got his head out of the water and I got a perfect look at him for at least 10 seconds and so did my friend. Great catch, but would any of you count this as a catch? It would not have counted in a tournament, but we were just out for fun. Thank's!
  15. I went to Florida twice in my life, tried to fish as much as I can, which was almost 24/7. I would use shrimp with no wait off the dock and catch all type of fish, including 3-4 different types of snapper, the fish mentioned above, Redfish, Zebrafish, small Needlefish, and a Puffer fish which puffed up and floated on the surface when I let it go. I alway's wanted to know what those were, and know I know they are Pin Fish. I guess you learn something new every day!
  16. I have one myself and I wanted to know what anybody else thinks of it and if you know any modifications I could do to it for a oar holder, or really just anything you can think of. Thank's!
  17. Is it possible snakehead's got into the pond?
  18. I dont think they exist everywhere, but in most places. And I would try a craw imitator no matter what. I have caught some of the biggest bass of my life using lure's that are not supposed to look like anything, just like a prey target.
  19. I think they would still be there and I am not sure why the weed is that color. I am not sure why the weed would be that color but could be the muck
  20. I would try some plastic weedless frogs on the weed's. It may be dead weed's but it still gives fish cover and a place to ambush prey. You might want to try a jig in the central deep part.
  21. I would try a weedless frog on the surface and some weighted plastics in the vegetation. Try some wacky rigged senko's and jigs in the holes.
  22. I was fishing in a small dirty stream and I was using a small crank and I got snagged and lost it. The next day I went back using the same lure( I had several) and on the way in it felt wrong and I snagged my lure back. Ten feet from that same exact spot a couple years back I snagged a fishing rod. Took it home, cleaned it up, and good as new.
  23. Mainly shallow little places with a ton of weeds and snags.
