I picked up another Helium during the sale. Since they are no longer going to use the NFC blanks there's no telling what the 2021 models will be like. The 2020 KLX and helium share the same blank, the difference is Kigan guides vs Fuji and handle shape.

Yep, We call it scrubbing. I really like the old Kanami grub but I'm about out. The BPS grubs are about as good as any and easy to get. 1/4 oz ball head .

What issues did Kistler have with NFC ? I picked up another Helium during the sale. For $249 they are a steal. As to the 2021 models, I guess we will have to wait until they get in peoples hands and see. Personally I'm in no hurry to be the first.

I've been fishing the MBR's for 20 years or so. I have a 844 in the newer GLX as well as the older models. If I were looking for a all purpose rod the 844 is perfect. For strictly a jig rod I like the JWR's better. They get into the power faster and don't feel as mushy dragging something. The NRX 893 is pretty much my favorite.

I've seen folks do that kinda thing with golf clubs. They make BBQ tools ,fly swatters ect. There are people handing out advice on golf club forums who couldn't break a egg also.

I dunno, I'm from Missouri so I'd have to see it but anyone who can catch 50 smallmouth averaging 3-4 pounds in 6 hours out of Bull Shoals isn't a guide he's a miracle worker.

Great Rods. I have the H3 7ft 3 MH . Can't think of much it wouldn't do but I use it as a 1/2 oz. football head rod for the most part. Balances fine with a Curado 70. Sensitivity is about like a GLX. The NFC blanks are great.

I use the dixie jets ,both flutter and slab.no complaints at all and they have a good hook. In the big flutter spoon I like the R2S James Watson . I like to pitch them around docks and the thing actually falls away from the pitch. Great for under walkways and boat lifts.

I use a 1/8 oz. ball head. Personally, I like a light wire so I bend it out if the thing gets hung up.

The old Bagleys can be like old Wiggle Warts. People sell them for a reason and sometimes it's because they won't run.. Dave's custom baits makes one that is as good as a good Bagley . They are 50 bucks a copy but it's going to run right.

If you want to dabble in the world of balsa I think the Black Labels are a great place to start. Cliff Pace bought the old duplicators used to make the Wec's after Ed Chambers passed and his Wreck model is really good . For $18 bucks your not going to beat it.

10lb. on the 5/16 ball head rods and 12lb. on the 3/8 and up football and arky heads.

Most of mine have come from Table Rock as well. The Dam area is probably the most well known but my best one came up the James river on a spinnerbait. It was a old buck, super long and skinny but I'm sure over 4lbs. They like gravel and bright shiny things.

I use a Curado E5 this time of year. Personally I like the slower reel until the water starts to warm up in the spring. After that any 6 something to 1 is fine. I use the E series Citica's. People may fish Warts and RK Crawlers differently in different parts of the country. Around here ,It's casting parallel to the bank and grinding them in the rocks with the trolling motor on. Trying to squeeze every foot out of a cast isn't needed. It's all about the presentation.

I have the old All Star TWS also. It's a great popper and walking bait rod and I'm sure it would be fine for a stickbait as well. The new Kistler Graphite series is on sale for $ 99 bucks from $150 and in the medium or light medium heavy it's a great topwater, stickbait and squarebill rod.

I have several of the RC 1.5's both the Squarebill and the DD. The DD was the bait that didn't get talked about much . There is a time around here that they will get off the Wiggle Wart and bite a deeper bait. Everybody used to throw the deep or middle N and the DD was kind of a secret. I pick them up when I can and I have a perfect phantom green craw but it makes me nervous to throw it. The prices are getting pretty high, anything under $ 25 is a good deal. There seems to be some in Japan but the shipping can be a concern. I personally have never tried the USA models. When Rick Clunn parted ways with Lucky Craft, Luck E Strike made a 1.5 copy with his name on it and may still. They aren't the quality of a LC but not bad.

Take into consideration where I live and fish and that I own dozens of pre rap warts they are still the best as long as I can reach them with it. I like the RK 55 no matter the depth . I'd rather grind it. I see no use for the 50 , It doesn't hunt as well as a good wart but then neither does the 55. There has been a few attempts at knocking off the OG Wart but they can't duplicate the plastic that was used or the sound.

Well, We still have some derby's goin' on here on Table Rock and next door at bull Shoals, plus the Ozark Mountain team trail Joe Bass ect. will be getting started before long. You should come on down and prove it..

Well, I've got about 40 years of jig fishing in too. There's no question today's equipment is better than the old Fenwick glass rods I started with but no rod or reel is going to make someone a jig fisherman. I agree about intuition but I think the biggest change is in electronics. We used to go down the bank and fish history or because a spot looked good. Today, I seldom get out of the driver's seat unless I mark fish. With the advent of livescope ect. these boys not only know how many fish are in a brush pile but what side or top of it they're on. When you can see your bait and the fish no amount of rod sensitivity is going to top that. As far a derby fishing today, I'm sure most guys are getting a teach and sharing waypoints.

I would never use a snap on a stickbait personally. I always use a split ring. Dunn's usually has some of the Katsuage hooks for the 110 they may have the rings as well, If not try to match the size. I would call or Email MB USA. They will probably send you a few.

I've had a few like that also . I was told that the baits that were originally intended for the JDM market don't come with rings, the USA models do. In any case , MB was happy to send me a few rings. They are super light.

At $199 the KLX was the best deal going ,now at $300 I'd have to think about it. It's still easily worth that sale price. The H3 fishes about like a GLX and it's a great rod. also. Kistler is a small business but Trey has always been great to talk to and helpful.

The V110 will always be my go to but when the water starts to warm up in spring the Mcstick in Blue Bandit works well around here. That color looks a lot better in the water than in the package. The stickbait is a religion down here and the time will be here soon. Personally I'd rather have a couple 110's than 6 copies but the Provoke in ozark juice isn't a bad choice.

If you can keep that rascal in the transducer cone it should be fun.
