What's Your Favorite Drop Shot Bait?
The I Shad doesn't drop to much in the water because of its weight creating an odd angle the bait lays in the water?? Or do you use that more when you are dragging your drop shot more?

How Many Strands Do You Like In Your Jig Skirts
Sam, the Hookies laid it to us this weekend, they were a better team that day for sure. I have had more success lately with less strands on my skirts then more. As you well pointed out, we don't exactly have the most quality fish in Ohio, so the smaller profile really seems to help. I just kind of discovered this recently, so hopefully I will catch some more this weekend and prove my theory!

Post Spawn, Bluebird Skies, Where To Start?
Had a limit and culling by 7:50am, had one bite after that. Tried deep, shallow, shade, sun, everywhere. Shakey Head, jig, crankbait (the wind picked up in the afternoon), texas rig, and a little bit of swimbait. I was really puzzled by 7 fish before 8am, then nothing in the afternoon. We tried everything.

Post Spawn, Bluebird Skies, Where To Start?
headed out tomorrow for the blue bird sky day. But got out for a little yesterday. We have had a cold snap and the water is back down around 70, from high 70's a week ago. everything we caught was in 5 feet or less. so i guess that is where i will start early Saturday, then check deeper as the day goes on, along with hitting shaded areas.

Post Spawn, Bluebird Skies, Where To Start?
you think that you can still use cranks deep on bluebird skies if there is some wind? or think swimbaits, jigs, and shakey heads are a better option?

Post Spawn, Bluebird Skies, Where To Start?
no vegetation at all in this lake. cause if that was the case, that is exactly where i would head.

Post Spawn, Bluebird Skies, Where To Start?
So, I am headed out later this week, my fishery is just post spawn with mid 70's water temp due to the recent cold streak. The day I am heading out is to be bluebird skies with 5-10mph wind. Normally I would be fishing 5-10 feet of water with a crankbait, swimbait, or shakey head. Will the post frontal conditions and high skies push the post spawners deeper off the end of the points, so I should be looking more towards the 10+ feet. Or, will they push up to the bank and hide in the shade of the overhanding trees? This lake is void of any grass, and has an average depth of about 20 feet. Let me know your thoughts.

Trouble Casting With Braid
how far from the top of the spool are you spooling it? mine is about 1/8" from top just like my Floro spools.

Trouble Casting With Braid
So I don't know if this is off or not. I am pretty good with a baitcaster. My distance has improved year after year and I am down to using little brakes and spool tension. But as soon as I put braid on, 30-50lbs I backlash like crazy unless I have tons of brakes on. Why? What makes casting braid so different?

My First Trip To Ky Lake
I am headed to KY Lake this weekend for my first trip ever on the Tenn River. It is actually my first trip on a top 100 Bassmaster lake. We are just going down for 3 days. Staying right around the 68 bridge. The water temps look to have jumped a few degrees in the last 3 days to about 64. I am thinking they should be up spawning right now, so we should catch the end of that and some post spawners. Any suggestions anyone has on fishing or eating or anything down there? We leave Wednesday and are fishing Thursday-Saturday.

Jig Tying Vise Advice
Hate to bring out an old thread, but the vises you guys are talking about, will they hold a 4/O hook or did you have to buy other jaws. it seems all the vises i am looking at require saltwater jaws to hold a 4/O hook.

Rod For Chatterbaits And Spinnerbaits
Read an article today on KVD, he says he has started to use glass/composite rods for chatterbaits. He says they stay hooked up better. What are your thoughts and what rod do you use for those techniques?
