get a used HDS 8 Gen 2 or used HDS 7 Touch. you can get two and stay within your budget. you can find them on ebay for $1100, spend $200 for LSS2 and you have the best of everything.

i love the square bill and seem to catch fish on it all year round, late spring being best. anyone else use a square bill will success all year round?

i am a huge Oakley guy, i own well over 10 pairs. if you are going with oakley, I highly recommend either Tungsten or Gold Polarized lenses to fish with. That being said, I recently was turned on to Costas and man are they the bomb to fish with. i love their green lens, it is a lot like Gold Polarized Iridium from Oakley, but really cuts through the water better. also, for all the grime and water spray from fishing, the glass lenses are easier to keep scratch free. But, the downfall is they are heavier them my Oakleys. I wish Oakley made a better lense for bass fishing. I think Shallow Blue and Deep Blue are good, haven't owned a pair but tried a few on. But, the Costas are just so much better in my mind to see out of, i like them better for driving too. just clearer and more definition.

I throw a lot of crankbaits and get hung often. I have one of those Jewel Baits florescent dogs, but it doesn't seem to do that great of a job. I was thinking about getting one of the lure retrievers on pole. What do you guys recommend for a good lure retriever?

i am going to sell most of my squarebills and move to these. they are just a fantastic bait. i love the 03 model, and the colors look great in the water. and the hooks are super sticky. i wish they were a little cheaper, but you are getting quality at that price so i can't complain to much.

i have a few super duty's and love them. i have fished a bunch of reels and only found one i like better, the BB-s. if you want some super duty or BB-1 let me know. i bought a whole lot off of a guy the other week and am selling some.

Shak-e2 are without a doubt the best shakey head jigs i have used. love the idea with the tubes. gonna try that. Roadwarrior, do you work tubes any differently than a normal shakey head setup?

The Super Magnum is huge and would take up to much space. I fish with my Magnum every tournament I fish as a co-angler. and it does fit in the rear compartment of a Z7 my partner has. Now saying that, it wouldn't fit in the rear compartment of my Pantera II. I like it at my feet though, that way I don't have to get it out of the compartment to get anything in any of the pockets. I think they are fantastic, my partner did too, he bought one after he saw mine to use in my boat.

I am looking to sell my 2003 Stratos 185. It has a Minn Kota Talon, and two HDS 7 Touch screens with down/sidescan. I want to get $10K for the boat. If I sell it with the Talon and HDS touches, i want $13,500. What do you guys think my best way to sell the boat is, list it with everything, or list it without the Talon and HDS Touches? I know I can kind of do both and offer the others as an add on, but I wonder if that turns people off seeing how much the add-ons are. I had a dealer tell me it is a lot easier to sell a boat for him for more money with more add-ons, just wondered what you guys thought. thanks!

Tom, What about in stained water, would would you suggest? I fish a lot of lakes that are stained with <2 feet of visibility, no grass. When I can find them on ledges I can catch them with a crankbait. But, if i can't find them on ledges I am having a tough time getting them in the boat. I have tried Biffle Hardhead, jigs, shallower cranks, and shakey heads on rocky banks and flats 4-12 FOT. Any other places you would suggest I look or throw?

Due to the cooler summer and more rain, water temps here in Ohio are below 80, and have been for 10-14 days. Any reason for them to be shallow, or do you think they will still be holding in that 10-20 FOW of ledges?
