  1. I rig mine weightless with a 4/O EWG. Throw it on a 7' MH rod with Baitcaster unless it is windy, then spinning rod. I saw on TV last night flukes being used on a drop shot with a lot of rod movement, really looked enticing.
  2. I think the soft jerkbait is a great bait, what is your favorite one and why? I have been using the Zoom and a Gambler, but that is just because those are what i bought. for the pre-spawn i want to make sure i have a good one, give me some suggestions.
  3. I like the scatter raps, I have used them in a lot of places. You can’t reel them fast, and they are pretty light, but once you learn to use them they are really a bait that can catch fish. I don’t use them all the time, but it seems like they are a great bait some days when banging a crank around on the bottom isn’t working.
  4. Great images. Are those yours?
  5. Do you usually find channel swings to be more productive on the inside swing or the outside of the swing?

i really like the Mega Strike shakey head. i usually drag mine on the bottom slowly. my partner reels his at a decent speed and gets a ton of bites on it.
  7. I thought i saw a post on this, but using the search function i couldn't find it. I want to start to keep better logs of my days fishing. Does anyone recommend a good App to do that? I want something that is quick and easy, and will also let me go back and look at lakes and how I caught them, along with maybe being able to search watertemps (or maybe even just dates) and were I caught them. Does Fishidy do that? Any other ones out there?
  8. I just checked, can't find it online. I hope somebody finds it and posts it soon!
  9. i found a great deal on a 7' M Crucial Cranking, i loved the worm Crucial i had, so we will see how this goes.
  10. I am looking to get the Bluewater LED 111- Trailer Kit in Red and 108- Rod Locker Kit in White. Anyone know who i can talk to about getting a good deal on a set?
  11. I need a new squarebill rod. i had a veritas 7ft M and it was a nice rod. had great balance and really liked the taper, but it lacked any sensitivity at all. What do you guys like in the 7ft range with moderate action that is nice and light and can really throw a 3/8 oz squarebill well?
  12. I personally think the BB-1 (BB1HZ is the 6.4:1 version) is the nicest real out there in a reasonable price range. I am very curious to the new BB-1 Pro's. But I just can't see a flaw on the BB-1 besides maybe no external adjustment, which that took care of on the BB-1 Pro. I sold almost all of my other reels and use BB-1s almost exclusively. The casting distance in these is far superior to what I was using. The probability of backlashes is better. They are super smooth also. They are, in my mind, just a fantastic reel.
  13. Without backlashes or anything like that happening, what do you guys think the life of fluorocarbon is on your reel? And what do you think it is in on un-used spool of line?
  14. I want o start to throw swim jigs. Help me learn more about them. What's your favorite brand, weight, and trailer to use with it? And what water conditions and temps do you find they produce the best?
  15. how do these perform for you compared to other brushpiles you build? what do you think give you the best bang for the buck?
  16. I really like the Arashi 3. it is my favorite crank right now. they get through cover great, and have a nice wobble to them. probably a little more pronounced them the KVD 1.5. i love the Arashi, but i still have some 1.5s that i though too, along with a River 2 Sea Biggie Smalls
  17. i like them, i use the Smalls a lot. they are in my three bait squarebill rotation
  18. Jeff, What are those in front and how did you make them? I am very interested, those look like good crankbaiting cover.
  19. I know this thread is a little old but my GoPro is comings soon. I was thinking about mounting mine on my Talon, it is a little higher then the windshield and should give a better angle don't you think? Do any of you use the remote to turn yours on? Or do you just leave it on the entire time and switch batteries?
  20. The insert of one of my Veritas guides came out. How can I fix it, can I just glue it back in? what kind of glue do I need?
  21. it is at Alum, didn't hear of one at Delaware. i was thinking of trying the bluff walls and those points north of 36/37, then running over to the road bed on the west side in the middle pool, may throw some cranks there mixed in with jerks and football jigs. what do you think? I have never really fished this cold of water, so i am up for any help on depths or patterns or baits to try.
  22. I am headed out to a pot tournament this weekend. Haven't been out in a month, the water here in Ohio is in the low 50's, the lake has been drawn down about 2-3 ft from summer pool. What patterns should i start to look for? I was thinking a quick topwater bite in early morning on a shallow road bed, then moving to a steep bluff and doing some jerkbaits and football jigs. Thoughts on other things I should look for? Is the water too cold to be looking in backs of creeks for bass chasing shad?
  23. I have gotten into cranking pretty hard core this year and have found out I love to crank. I have really only thrown Rapala DT, Strike King XDs, Spro, Bomber. I prefer the Rapala DT series the best, just seem to catch more fish for me, especially in Old School color and in DT16. I have also had some success on the Spro MD in the 7-9 ft range, but seem to have a lot of trouble with the Spros hanging up on my in the DD. The DD seems to hang in trees more than any other crankbait I throw. I know a lot of guys like the Bombers, but they just haven't caught fish for me. SK are nice, but it seems only 1 out of every 3 seems to perform well. Even after turning, something just doesn't seem right with all of them. What are you favorite brands and models that dive 12-18ft and why?
  24. i can not say enough about the BB-1 reels. I use all three gear ratios reels. I have 6 total right now, three for cranking, one for jigs, one for soft plastics, one for swim baits. On my crankbaits, i average at least 10 yards longer per cast then i have with other reels. With heavier cranks i would say it is closer to 15 yards longer. i mean it is a huge difference. I have mine setup with two white pins out and one blue pin out for everything but deep cranking. deep cranks i only have two white pins engaged. i just love these reels and can't say enough about the casting distance and how smooth of a reel they are.
