  1. I am using a 7'8 St. Croix Mojo Glass Crankster Rod. Have no issues, but for some reason the Spro seem to pull a lot harder then the others. I bought some bombers that I am going to try in a pot tournament tomorrow night.
  2. What soft plastics do you use on your Biffle Hardhead besides a biffle bug and what do you like best on your hardhead?
  3. I have used Strike King 5XD, Rapala DT16, and Spro Little John DD. The 5XD and DT16 are great baits. I am slightly disappointed in the Spro, I love Spro baits, but man does it pull hard. I am wore out after fishing this thing for an hour. Anyone use Bomber? Thinking of trying a Fat Free Shad D7 and M7. Anything else I should look at?
  4. i ended up getting a Talon. I really like it, the only small complaint i have is it is a touch noisy, other then that couldn't think of how to make it better.
  5. Love my Big Crankster Mojo. Killer deep water rod.
  6. I couldn't turn down the Powell's for $109 after reading all of their reviews. I will let you guys know what I think of them. Two tournaments in the next 15 days
  7. do you have Micro Magic or White Ice?
  8. I am debating between the two rods. Which do you guys like and why? I am looking for sensitivity.I would be getting a 7ft MH rod.
  9. Where are the best spots to walk a spook? how deep of water can you successfully catch fish on a regular basis? I am always afraid to throw a spook in water deeper then 5 feet, can i throw one in water deeper then that? Is it usually best to throw them up into a point or out paralleling the drop-off? How long will the top water bite be good, all summer, till the water gets really hot (80+)??? I love walking the dog, just don't do it much. I just wanted to know when and where it is best to do it, so i can do it more! Thanks!
  10. If so, how do you like it? if you have tried Hotmaps, how does it compared to the Navionics?
  11. i did my first two co-angler tournaments this past week, and let me say two things. Follow what these guys posted in this thread, some great into. Also, you will realize you are smarter and better then you think. I fished with a great guy, but i thought i was going to be wowed, I wasn't. He actually made some bad decisions on the water that cost us fish. But, the experience was fantastic, and will really help me in my tournament this weekend where I am the sole boater, no co-anglers. The one thing that was odd for me what the angles, you just aren't used to fishing at the angles you will fish at. But, it doesn't take long to get used to the new angles.
  12. When you say you went with the binder idea, do you mean? I am having the same issue with a Talon i bought. with the new style bracket that goes between the transom and outboard it hits the tie down U bolts. I can't figure out how to get around it.
  13. So the universal sandwich bracket I got for mounting my Minn Kota Talon to my 02 Stratos 185 hits the trailer strap/ lift U bolts. My dealer says he doesn't want to remove it and plug it with silicone. He wants to have it sealed and fiberglass patched then put my Talon on. That will cost me over $500 more. Anyone have any other suggestions? Is siliconing the whole shut not a great idea like he says? Or should I just tell him to silicone it shut and be done with it? The other option I may have is to try one of the old Talon Mounting brackets to see if they will miss the U bolt.
  14. I think I am going to just pay someone to do it for me. I am afraid i will screw something up.
  15. A local shop said 2 hours to do it. I just wondered if it was something feasible or not. I have a Stratos 185 and it won't mount to my transom without hitting the motor.
  16. I have a Talon I need to install between the transom and motor. I have a 150 Yamaha and was reading the directions and it says you can loosen the nuts, slide the motor off on side and put the mounting bracket on. Is that possible without a motor lift or should I just pay to have it mounted? Any advise is appreciated!
  17. meaning, what does it attach too, i don't really understand how it holds the hatch open
  18. I want to install some struts to help keep my rod lockers open, has anyone done this? Where do you install the strut in relation to the door and deck? What Strut did you buy? I think this would make a really helpful add-on to my boat. Thanks in advance.
  19. Try the Super Duty, i absolutely love mine. I have 4 now!
  20. besides weight and line capacity, what are the advantages and disadvantages of 20-40 size spinning reels? What do you guys prefer and why?
  21. I said the same thing when I saw it. Also wondered what rods Ike and BP were using.
  22. Was wondering how many of you use rattles on your flipping/pitching jigs and your swim jigs?
