  2. i had been hearing great reviews of the gary y senko's. only bad i hear is they don't last long for the price. i bought a pack i am not sure if its right one i have not caught any fish on it. i noticed gary y sanko he has like 4 of them and not one of them is called just a senko i don't believe any way. they had one i got called a yamasenko in 5" that i got. another done called a worm or some sort in a blue pack saying maid by gary y looked just like the yamasenko. then a few others forget the names. i want to get more but want to get the right one that everyone talks about. also whats the right size and how do you work them? with or without weights texas rigged? thanks
  3. the nightmare is back this time for freshwater i stopped using mono, and fluro in salt water because the only thing they are good at and good for is raising you're blood pressure so i got it stuck in my head thats there soul purpose in fishing with a bait caster. the only time i can stand using either of the 2 is tuna fishing etc. any way everyone has been telling me i gotta switch to fluorocarbon so fish can't see it. well fresh water maybe different then salt but in salt water were mono sticks out like a sore thumb and crystal clear at least to me were braid blends in because its green and the water is a similar color in salt. so i got some 15# berkeley trilene fluro put on my abu revo sx hs. 7:1 gr. I'm having the exact same problem as i was before on my bait casters in salt water avoiding tangles and birds nest's are literally impossible. i went back to power pro not 1 birds nest throwing the exact same way. tried out the fluro on my other rod birds nest again. i don't under stand. i have my thumb on the spool. is there some sort of trick? i got to the point today were i was going to snap the brand new pole and throw the reel in the water. i even have the brake set properly. i don't get it i never have a single problem with braid. i would appreciate all help as to how to get this issue resolved.
  4. yea think the curado e is only way to go and there so d**n expensive i don't under stand they have what 3 or 4 out now? don't you think they would give you a deal? they are all literally close to the same price about a $5-10 difference nib from the 50-300.
  5. hello im getting into fishing again and am starting a arsenal of set ups. I'm also looking for a setup just for my top water baits. my question would be what kind of line would be best for top water as well the #. also what action would i want for the rod. i was thinking medium heavy not sure though so would like to ask people with the experience. i have my frogging setup that will be ready to go when i get back in town. i have my set up i use for senkos super flukes and spinners. well i hope you can use spinners on a senko/super fluke set up i like the beetle bug spiner. i also have an old lucky stick i think medium action with some abu garcia spinning i take with me just in in case something happened and i need a back up. for all i know it could be good for my spinners my primary spinner and goto is the beetle bug spinner then i think i'd be set. only has 6 or 8# test though. appreciate the help guys!
  6. would use it most likely for a topwater setup. top waters such as jitter bug and hula popper unless there is another reel better for top waters I'm just getting back into bass fishing again.
  7. bass what side rod should i be looking into for frogging? also what action is best ? guy above i know said no less then 7' and mh or heavy action but whist the goto or most used?
  8. thanks a lot. really helpful ill def look into them i hope dick's has them I'm heading there monday to grab some more lures, i hope they have the the rod, and the frog I was told to get the spro bronze eye was not listed on there website. i hate ordering online some things i rather just get at the store and have it right then, and there.
  9. im considering getting one of these but i have a question. i been going back and fourth between the cur ado 201 and 301 (left handed version) one is a little over $200 other ones is about $120. is there any difference or improvement's between the 2? looking into possibly getting another rod/reel bait caster set up next week when i get paid.
  10. I'm getting back into heavy bass fishing again for the first time in my life I'm actually sad I'm on vacation no bass fishing here. i been going every day several times a day for the past 2 weeks since getting back into it again. im looking into buying a 3rd bait caster and rod setup/ i currently have the bps johnny morris setup with a 7' bionic blaze mh fast as well another reel i need t get a rod for the reel is a abu garcia sx-hs I'm looking into pairing it with another rod. possibly for frogging is this reel any good for frogging also is it correct that you use 65# braid for frogging? next up th either reel i was looking into buying its either going to be this one of the revo for my frog setup depending on what is th abetter choice. the shimano curado there about $225 it looks like in that range the cur ado 301 because i like left handed bait casters as i am left handed. also been looking at the other cheaper model the 201. is there much of a difference, and if the cur ado is the bette option to use as the reel for frogging what size would be best money is not an issue but saving money is nice. next up the rod for frogging whats the preferred rod? I hear people claim they do use the 65# braid as i mentioned above. i don't want to buy the wrong set up and be out money. not sure what is the best rod i hear st.croix is supposed to be the best what action how fast how long etc. would really appreciate the help so i don't buy the wrong one. i have just the reo but no rod for it so if the revo is good enough for frogging all i need is the pole, and i will hold off on the curado.
  11. as for the 30# i braid thats what i use in saltwater on all my bait casters i been using bait casters ever since i was about 10 I'm 23 now i could never go back to a spinning rod and i have been using braid for close to 10 years and look back saying why did i even consider using mono all the problems and head aches i had dealing with it. but i have noticed even keeping a tight grip on the line on the bass style low profile bait casters the back spin and digging in is crazy i never have that on the conventional style bait casters such as my t.d. luna. i never have back lashes or birds nests but now that you mention it i do notice it quit often even though i only used it for 3-4 days i was ready to trash the line. i paid $35 for the line not that big of a deal but if the 65# is ideal then looks like ill get that and save the other line if i can salvage it or do something. me personally if i can avoid mono just because i had it on a bait caster it came free with the reel i got was impossible to keep out of a birds nest.
  12. okay thank's i doubt they will take the line back since they spooled it at the tackle shop and i used it already. ill have to look into that.
  13. hello everyone, I am getting back into bass fishing. I think i made a boo boo in buying line. I'm so used to salt water fishing all i use is power pro braid. i got 30# power pro braid. my setup: bass pro shops bionic blade 7' mh fast bass pro shop's johnny morris gold series bait caster 7:1 power pro 30# test braid. i also recently just bought another bait caster abu garcia revo sx hs left left handed 7:1 with a st. croi mh 7' pole moderate. think i mad a boo boo with this too this is why i hate ebay stores have way too many listings of the same item. not even sure what moderate is used for or if its even good for my soft baits senkos super flukes etc. after i started talking around to people I'm not sure if i waisted my money getting braid or not seems like its 2 options 15# berkeley trilene fluorocarbon, or 65# brad for frogging. my question is since i want to get into frogging as well i primarily fish south jersey were i live at stockton college lake i think its called lake fred. is the 30# braid i have on my bionic blade good for anything. would i be able to get away with using it as a frog rod paired with a spro bronze eye? i have to get my new reel spooled as well was thinking about getting the 15# fluorocarbon thrown on it that's what my neighbor in my summer place told me to get. he does tournament's all over and does well and fishes with the pro's. any help would be appreciated if the 30# braid will be good use for anything. before i go out and buy a 3rd pole and reel for frogging, and waist money.
