Maryland's Who's who!
I got a chance to go out for a couple hours this afternoon. Went to Kings pond and Black Hills near the bridge. I managed to catch one at kings pond on a chatterbait with zman craw trailer. By the way, does anyone know a good spot for crappie at Black hills?

Maryland's Who's who!
I got a chance to fish at BH this morning. Started at the cove by the boat rental area, didn't get any bite from there. Then moved to the fishing pier, didn't get anything either there. Next stop, the tubes opposite of backwash area. I managed to land two on crankbait within 5 minutes. No more bites after that. Hopefully Hurricane Sandy will not ruin next week fishing. Stay safe everyone!

Go Shad Rap Go!
Nice fish! My shad rap landed several quality bass before I lost it to a tree. Gotta get one of those again.

Maryland's Who's who!
Kings pond is on Clarksburg Rd, between 355 and Snowden Farm Parkway. I never catch anything big there but always manage to get at least one or two everytime I fish there.

Maryland's Who's who!
Sorry to hear that Ken. We all will go through that kind of day every now and then. I also went out Sunday morning for a couple hours to Kings Pond. Managed to land two of them on crankbait about 14-15" each.

Maryland's Who's who!
I went to BH night fishing last night, fishing from the pier by the boat rental. Got my 3 rods with different lures on them: diving crankbait, lipless crankbait and senko. In the past 3 months of BH night fishing, somehow I could only catch them on wacky rigged senko. I landed 2 of them: 18.5" and 16" with carolina rig senko. Here is the picture of the bigger one.

Has anyone hit Black Hill since the cool down in the past several days? Any noticeable change to fall pattern yet? I can't wait to go out there.

I Need Help, This Lake Is Killing Me
If you have an iphone, download Bill Dance app. There is a video that discuss that technique that you need to go after the suspending bass. The video title is "video tips when fishin gets tough". The technique involves carolina rig and a giant slip bobber and a bobber stopper marked at the depth that you need. It looks way too cumbersome for me to try but it might be just what you need. Good luck!

Which pond that you went to Ken? I went to King's pond friday evening. That one is filthy as well. I only catch one small one.

Maryland's Who's who!
Thanks for the snake heads up Basser89. Ever since a close encounter with one at clopper, I'm always vigilant looking out for snakes when I'm fishing.

Maryland's Who's who!
Hi guys, Just joined this forum and glad there are a lot of discussions about Black Hills where I do most of my fishing. BH has been good for me this year. I managed landing good quality ones (18"-21"+ range) especially early morning and during night fishing. But sometimes I wish I have more hook ups during my trip. Most trip I only catches one. I guess it's still better than getting skunked. I see you guys mentioned the stick ups a lot. I'll try that spot next time. Has anyone tried Lake Churchill/BH from Wynnfield Rd before? Any opinion? Thanks for all the info.

New Member From Md
Hi, New member from MD here. What a great website full of info and education material. I also enjoy looking at pics of your catch. I do most of my fishing at Black Hill Regional Park. It's about 5 min from my house. Hope to meet some of you guys at the lake someday. Feldy
