  1. I use a 7 foot MH BPS Crankin' Stick for a spinnerbait / chatterbait rod (and use the same rod in a M for cranks)
  2. What weight / size of ultra head finesse hook
  3. What pound line mono do you use for these applications?
  4. Fished a pond two evenings and couldn't get a bite - put on a SUPER POP R and caught 4 in about 30 minutes - gotta love that.
  5. Weightless Trick Worm Weightless Senko Texas Rigged and Wacky Rigged Chatterbait with no trailer Pop R Devil's Horse
  6. Just saw where KVD uses a 40 size spinning reel on a 7 foot + rod
  7. Looking for advice on various soft plastic set ups. I have a dedicated 7 foot Senko type weightless baitcaster, a 7 foot wacky set up on a spinning reel, and a 7'3 baitcaster set up for pitching weighted beaver style baits. Looking for other ideas. I know it depends a lot on what someone is fishing for but wondered what set ups you have.
  8. I went down from 20 to 10 on this set up for longer casts and was surprised how much more distance I got...Power Pro...I put 75 yards of a 300 yard spool on some backing and tie wack hook directly to braid
  9. Not breaking at the knot - breaking down in the spool - I think from what I've read on here that I have figured out what I was doing to cause it. Thanks for your help!
  10. Hey thanks everyone! Some good information and I'll use this to see if I can get this problem fixed. I appreciate the feedback.
  11. I use mono on certain applications, BIG GAME mono...if I get any backlash at all down in my bait caster, the line usually is going to break off on a future cast and I lose a bait when it does. Sometimes it is not even a bad kink in the line and it will break. Yes, I should be better at not back lashing....yes, I could switch out rods when I have a back lash down in the reel...but sometimes I just can't believe that the line breaks as easy as it does. I've read about old line getting brittle when sitting in the stores. I store mono and all lines in a dark, cool closet. I blame it on user error and looking for any helpful suggestions. Mainly using Big Game 12 for Crankbaits and 14 for spinnerbaits and chatter baits.
  12. Both MSRP $99 - I have many PQs and know how they are and when to buy them on big sales, etc...the question is which reel is BETTER of the two...if money were NOT an issue
  13. Bionic Blades are $39.99 at BPS starting 12-2-2019 FYI
  14. So i quit buying fluorocarbon but was given a pack of 15 lb INVISX...enough for one rod only...should i put it on my dedicated crankbait rod OR put it on a rod that is for both spinnerbaits and crankbaits? Just wondered where it is more beneficial...
  15. I am in northern Louisiana and people are really hyped about the 6th Sense Lures...I thought I would try some crankbaits of theirs...I don’t know where to start on size, model, color...Any suggestions...i prefer around the 1.5 to 2.5 size...but am open to suggestions.
  16. Thanks Tom! So it is not as much about “what the fish CAN or CANT see” as much as it is about what I CAN SEE I guess
  17. I am a fan of Big Game...but regardless of your brand of choice, what COLOR of line (clear, green, etc) do you use in mono (if you use mono) for the following: 1- topwaters such as spooks, pop’r, torpedo 2- spinnerbait / chatterbait rod (I use one rod for both) 3- crankbaits (less than 8-10 feet) I am in Louisiana so it is not clear water....usually stained ......I really hope to get a reply from “Tom” who loves Big Game!
  18. Looking for advice on if people simplify and use certain weights for certain baits of if you use a range of them depending on the wind and other factors....I know with thicker mat / punching to use heavier weight but how do you decide on the lighter weights when using trick worms , craws, lizards, baby brushhogs, rage bug, etc and how heavy of a weight to use? 1/8, 1/16, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16 etc...AND does the color of the weight matter that much? Can you spray paint them black? I got some on sale that are green pumpkin and some that are watermelon red.
  19. Well I have had very good luck with them...many others on here have well...some people replace hooks and o-rings, but i don't do any of that...i stock up when they go on sale...my best two have been the sexy shad lipless crank bait like a RatlTrap and the red / craw of the same bait...I am in Louisiana fishing Toledo Bend and local dark / stained ponds and lakes
  20. Wanting a new finesse spinning set up...looking at a M power 7 foot rod in Carbonlite 2.0 or Duckett Micro Magic Pro - wanting to get during the BPS sale. Would pair with a Nasci 2500 reel most likely...any opinions?
  21. Thanks! I see your posts a lot and respect your opinions for sure...The Dobyns Fury is one i have been looking at for sure already...that is pretty much my max budget, the $110'ish range...I appreciate it!
  22. I have a variety of bait casters and have just used one spinning rod in my "arsenal" for the past few years...I got a great deal on another Shimano reel and thought I'd go with another spinning set up for finesse...my question is, my other spinning set up is a 7 M /F carbonlite with 20 lb Power Pro...what spinning rod weight should i go with and what would you use each one for? Leaning towards another M or MH....
  23. In years past, when has the flyer come out and when does the sale usually start?
  24. Need help with type and size hook for ZOOM TRICK WORM and ZOOM FINESSE WORM and ZOOM MAGNUM FINESSE WORM please..HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
