  1. I thought it was partly what species of fish you were after, like a perch rig is ok, but a trout line would be illegal.
  2. I'm just north of Muskegon, but grew up in the Lake Odessa area.
  3. Can't say I've been there for years but I would suggest you find a different weighted bait, or spinners. You have to keep it from bottom unless you use weedless bass stopper worms or rig weedless soft baits. My brother fishes Thornapple Lk for Muskie
  4. Fishing with my son in Grand Haven MI, off the pier I thought I had a d**n turtle it was stuck on the bottom and taxing out my ugly stick Tiger Pole, when we got it up it was a bag with a volley ball painted like Wilson from the movie Cast Away (Tom Hanks) cut with a giant rock shoved inside.... someone's idea of funny, which it kind of was but also embarrassing because everyone thought I had a Salmon or something big on.
  5. I hate Disrespectful boaters (jet skis/wave runners)/ skiers) or guys in new bass boats that think because they've spent thousands of dollars on a bass boat they should be able to cross my line or cast within 20 ft of my boat and if you anchor right next to me, don’t be mad when I start up my main engine and roar to a different spot (what did you really expect) People who don’t wait for their turn at the boat ramp, politeness counts A Hole….
  6. It's pretty cold here in MI, last night down to single digit temp..... Bring on the ice.....
  7. 1. Be methodic 2. Work patterens consistantly 3. don't get caught up in one depth or type of lur/bait 4. Have fun

  11. Started off buying an 12 ft aluminum Cadillac with 3.5 Evenrude motor & 36 lbs mini kota( The Orca) , then I found a great deal on a Star Craft 70 hs that we modified into a family fishing boat(The Argo), 70 lb motor guide troller on front and replaced the ski seats with captain’s chairs on swivels, positioned the middles seat that it can come out to open up the back for the kids to fish off, all in all I love these two boats not many places we can't get to.
  12. Additionally to the post above this one, I love to throw out a 3 hooked bass stopper worm, you can use a weedless to pull it across the top, or chuck one into the openings or around the edges. We’ve caught a lot of bass this way, also dead sticking is every effective.
